      The memory is very picky and it doesn't seem to run anything above Jedec stock ddr4 speeds

  • @Rabbit_AF

    I have this motherboard, and now I need to see what speed the PCIe slot is running the PCIe. Saw several comments saying x4. It didn't seem to be running in x4 when I was using a RX 5700 XT on it. ReBar was automatically enabled. I looked for an option and didn't find anything.
    Edit: Yep, PCIe4 @ x4...
    Anyways, my only other cons are:
    1. I need to get a 90° adapter for the USB 3 header on the board because my video card blocks it.
    2. The ram won't go over 2600, this is probably a Engineering Sample thing.
    3. By default C states is off and it wouldn't boost to 4.5. This is a preference thing.

    I am not sure if you know so its better to mention it. Ultra performance on dlss means that you are running on a lower resolution=less power needed. For it to be on ultra settings either turn DLSS completely off to run on native resolution or atleast leave it on quality. I can't be sure if there was a reason for you to do that in Cyberpunk but it bugged me.

      @bearde_mut9731 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@TechnicallyUnsure Yeah they seem to engage in regional pricing, although being in EU perhaps there are tariffs in play that I am unaware of. As an example, I got a Mougol X99 M-ATX board with an E5 2680 V4 and 2*8GB DDR4 RAM for €26.90 around the start of December, but now I cannot find a single kit like this for less than €75-80.

      @HarjasSinghQS วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@TechnicallyUnsure Agree with more cores and threads, but there's one point I've noticed.
      1- Clock speed being higher means nothing if the CPU can't sustain those clocks. This is limited to 28 watts, right? I don't imagine it can turbo for very long.
      And that's my main concern- while in bursty workloads the 1280p is much better
      (looking at cinebench r23 we see the following:
      1457 for the 5600x
      1848 for the 1280p, single core
      (i7 1280p is 26 percent faster)
      13549 for the 1280p. multicore
      9883 For the 5600, multi core
      (i7 1280p is 37 percent faster)
      But, i imagine the CPU will hit its arbritary low power limit in longer and more CPU intense workloads and thus have reduced perofrmance: Is this the case?

    • @TechnicallyUnsure
      @TechnicallyUnsure  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, as you can see in the video, I benchmarked it for long time, it kept the boost clock. As long as you have a proper cooling and you actually need the boost clock, it will boost up to max clock and keep it there. For gaming though, if you are using GPU, GPU will do the heavy lifting.

    Well at X4 lanes on the X16 lane is a waste with mid range GPUs, or better. However I can see this as a cheap & low power Gaming PC with something like a RX6400, a Dell RX 6500 (tad faster than the 6400 but you can find it for less), or a RX6500xt. All three of them have a X4 bus and two of them are low powered (40W~50W). I'd just use Bazzite instead of Windows to reduce the cost.

    If it wasn't so overpriced in euroland, and allowed you to disable the P-cores in BIOS, this could potentially be a really neat power-sipping NAS board that is probably still way better than the equally expensive intel N100 based ones. Small NVMe as the OS drive, slap in a SATA controller into the x16 slot (electrically only x4), throw a bunch of HDDs at it and away you go. Maybe another NVMe in the second slot as a cache drive too. Then again it only has slow AF gigabit ethernet so... hmmm

    Disappointing Gigabit Ethernet. too few USB 3.0 ports and two blue fake 3.0 ports that are only 2.0 and too few PCIe to compensate for these shortcomings. The board would need at least two x16 or at least one x16(GPU) and one x8(for a McFiver Card 10G Ethernet, 2x10G USB-C and 2xM.2 NVME) to compensate for the shortcomings.
    I got a board on Ali for $130 with 64GB ECC DDR4 2400, 2680v4(14c/28t), 4x2.5G Ethernet, 2xM.2 x4, 10 SATA ports, PCIE x16,x16,x8 (GPU, Free, McFiver).
    If you have so few PCIe slots, you should at least have a 10G Ethernet port and enough USB 3.2 ports. Only then is a x16 for GPU sufficient.
