  • Eyes Right: The parade turn their heads to the right after a check pace. The parade leader salutes while looking in the direction they gave.
Can of course be Eyes Left is the dignatories being saluted are on that side of the parade!
Eyes Forward: After passing the dignatories the command will give the instruction "Eyes Forward" and the parade all whip their heads to the front in unison.

I feel I can not be the only one, as the troops march in, remarks "Well done, lads. Well done..."

think of it this way - if you were in the military as a gunner and you got all the glory of being the hero- wouldn't you also give credit to the ones who brought you the ammunition braving heavy fire to do so and the ones who helped steady the gun and keep it cooled enough to fire? So show some respect for ALL parts of the military band because they all have a job to do and are part of the whole.

The Shetland Ponies (Originating from the Shetland Islands Archipelago, which lies some 150 miles or 240 Km northwards of the North Coast of Scotland itself) are the regimental mascots of the various battalions that compose the super-enlarged Royal Regiment of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿(RRS). Originally, these battalions were each individual & separate regiments in their own right. See Wikipedia on the ‘Royal Regiment of Scotland’ for more details on this subject! The RRS has only been in its present organizational form since 2004, when the MoD put into effect a plan to reduce the number of serving infantry battalions in the British Army then as a whole & thus between 2004 & 2006, created a number of super-sized overall umbrella Regiments that amalgamated various older regimental units into subordinate battalions thereof, hence here in Scotland as one example, the RRS came then into its present form.
