I think hes too genuine. He probably did have that little thought coz we all doubt our own judgements when it comes to contests but we didnt need to know. I think hes genuine coz hes outspoken and cant help himself.

Adam Smith is pointless on these. As much as we criticise Simon at least he has an opinion, Adam is always fence sitting. Fighters can and should be criticised when necessary, I hate this “I’m not a boxer so I can’t say anything negative” attitude from him
Is constantly having an opinion about everything a good thing? Showing some nuance and balance is actually a nice thing in this day and age.

Ben Whittaker was getting praise but once he was getting matched so poorly boxing fans started to get suspicious especially with how sky were promoting him even though he hasn't even beat anyone decent

@Lee-ye3ev the AJ one was slightly different, the ref waved him off, but I do agree he could've done more to convince him he was fine, so in that sense, he gave the ref an excuse to call it, I don't know why people get so offended by it, DDD probably did the right thing, but it is what happened

@@perpetualintellectual2026 Because most people wouldn't go in there and even fight one round at professional level, so to call a boxer a quitter is lauagble coming from someone who wouldn't even step through the ropes, It's not just about Ben everyone should have learned from the Dubois V Joyce fight not to call a fighter a quitter, show me another fighter in boxing history who had four fractures of their eye socket and bleed at the back of their eye and carried on fighting? Anthony Ogogo had an eye fracture and carried on and got stopped, and he's never fought since, but do people call him a warrior? No he was silly to carry on and end his career.
cant stand this logic. Ben Whittaker quit that was clear, it wasn't going his way and he looked for a way out. This is just a useless excuse used by sportsmen to avoid criticism.

I think the fracture was likely from the first right had that landed in the exact same place as the finishing shot, so it was likely fractured from the first right hand and then caved in from the last right hand which landed in exactly the same spot

When wittaker and his opponent went over the top rope he must have thought it was a GIFT from God, cos he probably thought " this is the PERFECT opportunity to get out of this fight". It was a fight he was losing imo, I don't think I've ever seen him get caught with so many punches in a fight. For all of his elusiveness in the past, there was NONE of it. He wad very disappointing in the fight and he needed away out, and boy oh boy did he find it. There was nout wrong g with him ad far as I could see.
WHITICKER has no power at all it's worrying going forward he didn't make a dent in the lad the weekend. Maybe he needs to go up to cruiserweight or down to super middle but he got found out on the weekend.

Yes but there's levels to safety hence the gloves and refs/corners stopping it if it's getting out of hand. We want to see a good clean fight but no one dying in the ring. Getting punched in the face will never be 'safe' but like I say there's levels to it.
