Russia says it will hold drills that will include practice for the use of tactical nuclear weapons, days after Europe voiced stronger military support for Ukraine. It was the first time Russia has publicly announced drills involving tactical nuclear weapons, although its strategic nuclear forces regularly hold exercises. Tactical nuclear weapons include air bombs, warheads for short-range missiles and artillery munitions and are meant for use on a battlefield. They are less powerful than the strategic weapons - massive warheads intended to obliterate entire cities. Is the world at the brink of an all-out nuclear war or is this just more sabre-rattling by Russia? Palki Sharma tells you.

Russia is not bluffing. US and NATO better not push things too far. Remarks like "Nuclear drills are not new" is too flippant, and irresponsible.
They know fully well that Russia isn’t bluffing. Just as they are sneaking up on Russia, Russia knows and most likely will strike back.
The United States is willing to sacrifice you in certain areas of the country unlike in other parts of the country

Tactical nukes I don't get it are they just small rockets or nuclear shells in field artillery or both?
They cause small scale(like for example the state of goa )but significant destruction .
And the kind of destruction is similar as of a full scale nuclear weapon, like land destroyed far beyond recovery radio active contaminated water supply and genetical mutations observed in humans and animals of that area .

Tactical nukes are "small yield" warheads that aren't aimed at civilian targets. They contain a very powerful warhead capable of severe destruction, but most of the energy is absorbed by specific targets since the target isn't surrounded by civilian structures. The primary difference is range. Strategic nukes have large hulls and engines like ICBMs that can cross oceans and are launched from stationary containers. Tactical nukes are smaller and can fired from land, sea and air on many different smaller platforms of rockets.
Both can be extremely deadly for lots of people.
