    Hello Theo your cake looks amazing! You mentioned you use frozen cakes? So straight from the freezer?

    • @theostreats3338
      @theostreats3338  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do straight fro the freezer yes! But keep in mind that the cake, once done, will need to thaw out completely before eating! So you can either leave it in the fridge over night, or leave it out on the counter during the day in order for it to be the perfect temperature in the evening. Also, if taking the cake out of the fridge the following day, I would suggest letting it come to room temperature on the counter for about 2 hours before eating it! It is best at room temperature. Hope this helps :)

      Thank you so much! I love baking but my cakes are always messy! Cos I never used to freeze them! It’s my daughter 17’s birthday on the 2nd of April and I am very inspired by your video! I got all the materials now (including the turning table) so I will def make sure I keep you posted! Thank you for the buttercream recipe! 😊🎂

    If I was making this for a wedding do you advice that I insert dowels? Beautiful cake. I love your design.

    • @theostreats3338
      @theostreats3338  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much!! There is definitely no harm in adding dowels, as they’ll add extra support which will help with transport! I don’t find my cakes necessarily need them though, unless i am doing 2-tiers. Hope everything goes well!

    Theo can you put a recipe of your buttercream?

    • @theostreats3338
      @theostreats3338  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! My buttercream recipe is super simple! I do 1 pound of butter at room temperature and 3-4 cups of powdered sugar (depending on how sweet you want your buttercream). You will also need 2 tbsp of heavy cream (35%) and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. I start by whipping up my butter on its own with the paddle attachment for about 2-3 minutes until you notice it has gotten lighter in color. I then start adding my powdered sugar on low speed, 1 cup at a time. Once all the sugar has been added, I add my cream and vanilla and let that go on medium high speed for about 3 minutes, until the buttercream is light and fluffy, and has gone almost perfectly white. Finally, you will want to let it go for another minute or so on low speed to ensure all the air bubbles come out, otherwise you will not get smooth sides when frosting the cake! Good luck!!! And be sure to let me know how it goes :)

    I always get air bubbles in my icing when the cake is frozen. They may be chilled but not frozen. You end up with icing blowouts when it comes to room temperature.

    • @theostreats3338
      @theostreats3338  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh that’s strange! I’ve been icing my cakes from frozen for years and don’t have that issue!

    • @theostreats3338

      Hi Asha!! This can be a few things! You want to make sure your buttercream has close to no air bubbles in it before you start covering your cake, so I would suggest mixing it with a wooden spoon for like 5 minutes before stacking your cake! This will help get the perfect smooth sides! Also, i’m not going to lie, it takes alot of practice to get right! Keep at it and i’m sure your cakes will be more and more smooth!
