Thank you! She is all good now. =) But really wish we would have known what was really wrong w/her eye before it cracked. Lesson learned = find the BEST eye specialist if this ever happens and go to them via the ER if they have a 3 month waiting list.... wish I had done that
My frenchie got an ulcer. First 2 weeks vets thought it was an infection/pinkeye then I noticed a spot on his eye and brought him into emergency vet who did the stain and the ulcer was quiet big. Ended up getting a diamond burr surgery on the eye and I’m on day 4 and still no real improvement. I know i probably shouldn’t expect an improvement over night but man I’m dreading them telling me he needs a graph 😢. He was already traumatized enough from the burr. My boy never been aggressive until after that surgery. It surprised me to the point I was crying at the vet.
Did u have any issues with your frenchie eating? I notice my boy lost his appetite and I can’t figure out why. I’m assuming it’s from the stress of me doing the drops (2 different drops) or from the pain medication he’s on.
I totally get what you are going through. I'm so sorry... and also the improvement might start after a few days. I think every dog is different but I dope you can above having to do a graph like Mila had... She was in a cone for almost 3 months because the eye specialist we first saw didn't diagnose dry eye fast enough. But she got sick and her immune system I guess attacked her tear glands so that is how she got an ulcer which got worse b/c she had dry eye and then cracked her cornea. So a graft was the only fix and yes the behavior issues that occurred from being in a cone were bad. She was scared of big dogs and we are still working on it today. She never snapped at anyone before but I think she was protected by the cone and couldn't visit and socialize with dogs so then it became scary for her. Anyway we are almost back to where we were before the surgery but just get right into training as soon as you can to refocus on positive behavior and positive rewards. That's what worked for us. Please let me know if you have any other questions too!.
@@RachelWASTE I didn't have any issues with food. Mila ate all her food so fast after surgery I was sort of in shock. I also did a lot of this "soup". which was water, bone broth for dogs, and organic pumpkin (in a can) just to help her stay hydrated and get some good nutrition. Bone broth (we use open farm bone broth for dogs) helps them heal (I learned that from our holistic vet) so I loaded her up on that just to get as much nutrients in as I could! Also might be a good time to try like a topper? I use k9 naturals beef tripe and lamb tripe. That might add some good variety?
