  • After vacationing for a week in Gili Air, I put together this video to share my tips and advice to get the most out of your stay.
This laid back tiny island off the coast of Lombok has a slow and relaxed pace of life with beautiful beaches and sunset views.
Some of the the highlights and not to miss places are:
-Mowie's Restaurant for breakfast, lunch and wine happy hour from 4-7PM.
-Camilla's Beach Club for the best dinners, especially anything seafood related.
-Legend's Bar for Thursday night live music parties and good music any night of the week
-Le Saté Bar for really good lunch/dinner small plates and pétanque (la patronne est française)
-3 Island Snorkeling Tour for only 90K Rupiah.
    Other advice:
-Stay on the North or East side of the island to be out of earshot of the mosque blasting the call to prayer starting at 4AM.
-Bring earplugs because there's construction going on in most areas of the island.
-You can do your PADI dive certification on the island
-Eka Jaya is the best and most reliable boat transfer company from Bali to the Gilis
-Negotiate on the ticket price. I paid 600K round trip (which included van transfers) from another boat company.

we maps you might come across in the island are all wrong lol- part of the fun is to get lost inside the village and roads- I cycled and got ripped when I lived there for almost 1 year

if booking transfer from Ubud is it possible to store your large suitcase at a storage place by the dock before you get on the boat?

you mean to store it cause you don’t want to take it to gili air? I think the best would be to ask at a homestay and travel back to ubud days before flying back to your Country. Cause stormy weather could cause that you cannot move back early enough to pick your large suitcase and take your flight home
