I met Doyle (and the rest of the Michael Graves-era Misfits) after their show at 5 Points Music Hall in Birmingham, AL in 1999. Hung out in the green room after the show. Jerry offered me a sandwich from their deli tray & a Coke. Doyle never said a word, dude just kept to himself. Overall cool guys for just letting us hang out with them.
That's pretty much what I did about 8 or 9 years ago at a Mad Monster convention in Charlotte. I stopped to say hi and ask if he was still making guitars in his shop and he said "no" and I was like oh,ok 👌 and and continued to walk around the ballroom.
I met him at a record signing during the "GF days" and he was Very intimidating as he seemed in a foul mood, but I don't think it was intentional. His ex-wife and Argyle Goolsby were very cordial, but u could kinda feel some tension in the air!! I know he has social anxiety and just anxiety issues (as do I) so I can 100% relate as I can come across in ways I'm unaware of and that are entirely unintentional!.

For some reason they didn’t tear my ticket so I also have an untorn ticket to the last Ramones club show they ever did. In 2000 I dated the daughter of the lady that worked the ticket counter so I got in several shows for free. Ah, memories. Birmingham will always be a special place for me.

I have one of the Doyle guitars from Oktober (formerly October) Guitars. It plays smooth as butter, sounds great, and even though it looks top heavy, it is perfectly balanced. Doyle doesn't like how they are made, but it is still a nice axe.

Nah He had a production run of his guitar in the past. Problem was he didn't like it. He's built all of his guitars and never liked the production versions. It was impossible to make the production models like his own guitar. Hopefully he's older and more understanding this time around and actually likes this Dean production run.
I love when people say things having no clue how businesses work. The company isn't dying..Gibson is suing everyone and it isn't working..the Dime thing won't hurt Dean too badly since they don't sell that many Dime guitars as it is which is the reason for the whole lawsuit. Besides that, such court precedings can take years to straighten out and even when they do come to an end very rarely is a business completely obliterated. That's just not how it works. Dean will be fine. They're a small company anyways and even Gibson once was in severe danger of going under a time or two. Shit happens. Dean itself has had it's share of such situations and they're still here.
Lol. I was literally JUST listening to Doyle II: As We Die and I saw this vid so I paused to watch it. Doyle is extremely underrated and one of the most down to Earth guitar legends there is. Good for him for getting more recognition because he deserves it. I can't wait to FINALLY be able to put my hands on one of those guitars

Doyle seems like a really cool dude. Dude is close to 60 and he is still in super good shape, mad respect. About the guitar itself, I think for a super pointy it actually looks really nice. I just wish the lower part of the body would be slightly bigger. It's a shame Evan Rubinson has driven Dean to the ground. I'd be really surprised if the company survives all the lawsuits.
@Thru the eyes of God Evan is son of Elliot Rubinson who was the previous owner. Elliot sadly died to cancer in 2017, but before that he had already given the CEO position to his son Evan. I don't know about possible other lawsuits, but the two we know are from Gibson and Dimebag estate. Gibson's case is "surprisingly" about trademark stuff, but to summarize the Dimebag estate's case: "The estate of late Pantera guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, led by his longtime girlfriend Rita Haney, is suing Dean Guitars, alleging that the company owes them money, filed trademarks that weren't theirs, and has disrespected Dime's legacy." I have no idea what will happen in the end, but if I understood correctly that Gibson lawsuit is definitely 40 years too late. English isn't my 1st language, so I apologize all possible grammatical errors.

A Delco Dude meets Doyle at Dean. I want one of these. I saw the Misfits at Love hall in Philly just before they broke up in 83, I got in free for carrying some Misfits gear. I wonder if a Bass in this style will be made. Doyle's brother Jerry played a bass like this for awhile.

Guess they gotta find somebody new since they no longer have the Dimebag estate to support them. Dave Mustaine also left. They make a Kerry King model now too but Slayer isn't even around anymore. I bought a Dean ZX in 2017 amd it was garbage. I had bought the same model in 2008 and I loved it. That's why I bought another one. The quality between the two was night and day. I will never own another one again.
I heard on another channel that the owner of Dean Guitars passed away and his son took over! First order of business? He bought himself a brand new exotic sports car! This was a problem because they never paid any of their artists for they're endorsements.

its funny imagine doyle winding these custom pickups at home. no, serious he doesn't care much about guitarspecs and he simply doesn't really know and thats fine. you not asking any designer wich company produces under his label. guess he just wanted them to look like a SD Invader because they look killer and inside theres propably something chinese or korean made, as for the most "designed" pickups. thats also fine. doyle is and ever was just a badass image with basic guitar skills and knowledge. it is a multiple choice guitar design dean offered him, but i like the fact that he built the prototype years ago by himself.

Guess they gotta find somebody new since they no longer have the Dimebag estate to support them. Dave Mustaine also left. They make a Kerry King model now too but Slayer isn't even around anymore. I bought a Dean ZX in 2017 amd it was garbage. I had bought the same model in 2008 and I loved it. That's why I bought another one. The quality between the two was night and day. I will never own another one again.

I heard on another channel that the owner of Dean Guitars passed away and his son took over! First order of business? He bought himself a brand new exotic sports car! This was a problem because they never paid any of their artists for they're endorsements.
