The Shell Ecstar 0W-16 used by Maruti is not a good quality oil. Do we have good oils like Shell Helix Ultra in 0w-16 grade? Or maybe Castrol Edge and Mobil1?

      Ecstar is from shell ?

OEM oils are generally not good enough. Go for Shell Helix HX8 0w20.
There is not much difference in 0w16 and 0w20.
If people can use 0w30 instead of 0w20, then you can definitely use 0w20 instead of 0w16.

@ Maruti does oil change every 10k km. I plan to do the oil changes myself at 5000 km. So, in between the official service, I'll change the oil myself. Maruti will never know this, so no issues with warranty.

I bought Nexa Fronx recently and completed 1st Service
    As usual bill was Zero
But they polished my interior and engine bay very well.

I bought an Ignis and after running for 150kms, I drained the company oil and put in 5w30 oil from Gulf (Formula Elite). Now during the first service I told the service team not to top up since I checked it recently and they did seem not to top up. My car is running alot smoother with 5w30 when compared to company filled 0w20.

What do you mean you had 3 oil changes till 10k kms? My Grand Vitara is 1.8 years old now with 7k kms on the odo and I had only 1 oil change. I had bought Castrol 0w-20 for the first oil change but the service center refused to use any oil other than the oil that comes in barrels. They threatened me that they will void my warranty if I use any other oil. Can you pls guide me in this regard?

Even if you dont allow them to do the oil change your warranty will be void

Honestly, you don't need these oil changes but I didn't like the engine response with the factory oil so changed it with Total 0W-16. Next was Castrol 0W-16 which was drained during 3rd service at 10000 KM by the authorized service.
Being a channel which discusses and tests oil, I usually change oil at 5000-8000km for tests and reviews. In the coming time I am planning to share the results with these 0W-16 oils.
P.S: Service centers don't have the test facility to identify a 5000-10000km run used oil.

@ true... my 3rd service is nearing and I honestly don't like the response of the Maruti oil. Thinking of changing it out after like 2 months and putting in the Castrol. My running is not much so this strategy should be fine

      @RajeshSingh-rt4rx 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Oil changes should be done everything 6-8 months, for a new engine in the break-in process you should do the first change at 500km, second at 1500 and the third one at 5000.

@@thesportztourer hello there, I own the celerio 2023(e20) model 1.7 years old till date. Nearing my 1st paid service with a odo reading of 7100kms. I am not liking the response of the shell 0w-16 either. Would really appreciate a dedicated video regarding 0w-16 grade

Hello brother, I want a info regarding "Rowe " oil brand that has been recently introduced to Indian market. As I was planning to get my i20a active petrol get serviced thinking to change the oil with (Rowe Engine Oils 5W-30 Xpert Il A3/B4 API SN) , Previously I was using (shell helix hx8 5w30 A3/B4 API SN/SN PLUS). Need your opinions on this.

@amarbinay6654 authorised service centre itself, only the first service bill came below 1000, but when we compare it with other brands like ktm, yamaha's service cost is on the lower side . If you want I can share the spare parts expense... My 4th service bill was 2k. ( free service)
