  • After many many months of prep I've finally tuned my Mini to Stage 2. It is an absolute ripper. At stage 2 its supposed to be hitting around 270whp, and it definitely feels it. Bytetronik are a class act and I 100% recommend them for anyone tuning a Mini Cooper.

    I used Bootmod3 on my 2017 F56 S. Had to use Force Unlock and Flash from within the software for the initial stage 1 flash. After that and the rest of the bolt ons I was able to flash a stage 2 OTS map, program the CAT sensor out, and adjust for custom burbles. Also have the option to program out cold start heat cycle, add GTS startup roar and add MAX cooling mode along with boost by gear reduction and speed limiter deactivation, and I can also request custom tunes from licensed tuners. The Bootmod3 software also backs up your coding data and original tune as well as resetting all of your ECUs and clearing all of your codes. In addition you can log, auto log and run diagnostics and view data from any sensors directly in the software.

      i have a 2017 s and have been considering getting it tunned/remapped, but other than dyno graphs haven't seen much solid info specifically for the 2017 either older or newer. How much difference real driving did it make and whats the 0-60 difference if you have tested it.

      @@RickyT15 with a good set of sticky tires I’m hitting around 5 flat sometimes a tick quicker to 60.

      @@robinbanks7615 that's pretty good. I'm still on standard parts so would likely need to update some in the long run.

    I want to ask my mini is stock so if I go to a tuning center and I ask them to tune it to stage 2 do they just do it with a computer or do they add parts and things

    Quick question it’s something I’ve been wondering! Since they didn’t switch the 240hp numbers and 240ftlbs of torque now with the stage 2 ecu, does the car reach the maximum numbers on the display when you punch it?

    • @AidenOwen
      @AidenOwen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a similar question and went and checked, and yes it does max out. Torque reaches the top around 2500rpm, and horsepower reaches the top about 5000rpm

    He much did the tunning cost you?

    • @AidenOwen
      @AidenOwen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Came in at about $1000 all in, between shipping the ECU, the module, and the tuning itself

    Can you really feel a difference bud ? Does it pin you back to your seat a bit more ? I've got a 18 plate LCI , no GPF 8 speed auto JCW and love it so far !!!! Worried about the gearbox but I know the GP3 has the exact same box but takes 450NM of torque so should be fine :)

    I'm stage 2 on my Cooper S and I didn't have to ship out my ecu. I went with Evolve and they just send you a file that you flash into your car and it unlocks the DME. I also don't have an intercooler on mine yet nor do i have boost/Charge pipes installed and it runs fine lol

    • @marc974
      @marc974 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think cars after 2019 you have to remove the ECU, I have a 2017 and I to didn’t have to remove the ecu

    • @andrew.f56
      @andrew.f56 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@marc974 2018 and newer you have to remove the ECU because they changed from the B48 to the B46 that year and it's the LCI model.

      Yeah I believe based on what MFTZ said, the B46 has to have the ECU removed.
      I’ve got a 2016 but because I’m in the US I have the B46 engine.
      As for the intercooler, I added that because I was heat soaking really bad while dyno testing, I knew with the added boost I’d have big issues, so I just changed it out.

      @@AidenOwen Going off of the engine cover you actually have the B48, they changed the cover for the B46. I'm from PA and the US had the B48 until 2017. After 2017 they changed to the B46 :)

    Sounds awesome dude. Did you request the burble map to be added to the tune or does it come standard with the tune once you open it up?

    • @AidenOwen
