    I use D810 professionally to this day. I own 4 of them. Never switched to anything else because I don't have to. I bought a house thanks to D810. It's so reliable camera. Never failed me. Of course Z6II has better dynamic range but I don't need that because I know how to exposure photos properly.

    • @theCameraVille

      I bought a house because of a d70s.. . Guess what happened to the D70s. They arent servicable anymore. 👀👀 Guess what Nikon future gonna be…
      In terms of dynamic range, you can get a comparable image to a D810 with any Nikon full frame or any brand from your prespective.
      Its been about other users besides the “perfect exposure” shooter. Now and days its about performance in iso/dynamic/video/color. We arent living in 2013 anymore. Its what is the best that can get the shot if all else fails.

      😂 Some people get so offended when anybody talks about mirrorless cameras being comparted to DSLR's. As if it's disrespectful to just contrast their abilities. When someone says they don't need a better dynamic range because they know how to shoot properly, they sound ridiculous. You might as well say you will continue to draft documents with a feather and ink because you know how to compose written manuscript properly. Stop being so offended by camera technology. If you want to remain stuck in the past then just do that and be happy. No need to tell us how great you are with a 10 year-old DSLR. @@theCameraVille

      @MuyCurioso ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jacksonjackson9474 But let's see bro, you only see the differences between the two when you force the shooting circumstances, as you could see at the beginning of the video, the differences are barely minimal when they are exposed correctly. You will tell me who takes a photo at -5 exposure stops and then raises all the exposure in post production, it just doesn't make sense. I understand the examples in the video but in practice, that doesn't happen. Sure, if you told me the Z6's follow focus is better than the D810, but at forced exposures it just doesn't make sense.

    I had the D810 and LOVED it, my business went more people based so getting mirrorless was needed. I was so bummed the Z6ii just wasn’t as razor sharp/fast as the Canon R6. KILLED me to have to switch (mentally and suck financially). 16mths later, I LOVE my R6 for people work but I REALLLY nice the D810 resolution/sharpness when any sort of cropping is needed. I look at my old files still and just shake my head at the difference. For PEOPLE 20-28mp is 100% fine as you don’t want TOO accurate as shows the flaws but landscape/architecture I miss the extra detail of the D810. I am on the fence of getting another one just for fun camera with 1-2 lenses like 20mm G and a 24-70 G2.

    In my opinion the D810 is way better in almost all cases. The different colour casts of images shown in both cameras, including details available in overcast sky, can very easily be adjusted in camera menu settings or in post editing to exactly match each other.

I'm still working with an ancient D700, D600 and D800 and no one, absolutely no one has ever told me I need to use a mirrorless camera for better landscapes, portrait or events photographs. I'm retired now but theses ancient cameras helped pay the bills for a long time. Although not a fair comparison it would be better to compare the Z6II to the D610 because of the similar pixel count!

      Hi NikonMark, I also owned all 3 cameras that you mentioned. They are no longer serviced by Nikon anymore. Repair cost for those units are higher than the days you bought them by 3rd party outlets. Lets make sure we get that out the way first. Also D600 has the oil issues which is why D610 came out. D700 /D800 dont get me started.
      If you had slide your way in life with those units, good for you. Thats the way you do it. Also, most of the image quality difference will only be shown through glass so make sure you look at the glass comparison rather than the sensor comparison. That will be a huge difference. Because your looking at short term ownership. Long term ownership repair will cost more on D810 due to Nikon not supporting the unit anymore. If you dont shoot much and its once and a while as a hobby, go for it. For professionals, even NPS will reject membership if any of the gear isnt supported anymore.
      So either you are new to photography or you are a professional.

    It's odd that they d810's color starts to fall apart when raising the ISO. It's supposed to be ISO invariant. Maybe the processor isn't that good in the d810 to handle such low exposures. The z6 ii has two processors. One for the auto focus and one for the normal things the camera does such as writing the files onto the card. I had a group that was great in low light but the z6 ii is even better.

    Everything you talked about in this video is if you are shooting JPEG. IDK a person, who is using FF camera and relies on those things. Everything could be fixed in LR. Also, I've tested D810 up to ISO 12 500 and it's doing a fantastic job! Why did not you tested the level of detail? It will blow away Z6. Also, why did not you tested Z6 with most recent DSLR D850? Because it has no chance! Z7 and Z7 II are using D850 sensor and they are superior than D810/D810, but Z6II it is not.

At 35mm the difference between 1.8 amd 1.4 is not much, also note that mirroless lenses are always brighter than its dslr siblings.

    But let's see, let's see, the Z6 ii was released in 2020 and the Nikon D810 in 2014, 6 years apart. Are you telling me that 6 years apart that's the most progress I can get with the Z6II? It is definitely a scam. This means that the D810 has been well ahead of its time. In another sense, the D810 is a sublime camera, and of course, you're seeing those differences because you're doing forced tests, but in an everyday photo you'll hardly see any difference. Now, if you talk about the fact that there is no longer support or repair, well, everything will depend on where you live and that will have a correlation with the repair technician in terms of their prices. A D810 on Ebay goes for $700, you would be the most bad luck man in the world if it were damaged after buying it a month. I am about to buy the D810, as long as it lasts 2 or 3 years... That investment would already be more than profitable. Where is the fear? Great video 👌

    • @theCameraVille
      @theCameraVille  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use the same excuse and buy a D800 or any used full frame in that matter. The scam isnt the tech, its your lack of need during challenging light. D810 is discontinued and to repair might be soon to be over like my D800 did. Also if your spending money on a system that might last for 2-3 years, that is a mindset of a hobbyist . Then in that case, enjoy the ride. Cheers
