Ah such fond memories I had, constantly going to that frog for advice, looking at all my collectibles, and more. And this music really served its purpose.
Nobody does drums like David Wise. Dude is a legend. One of my favorite gaming soundtracks. This game was beyond underrated and should get an HD Remaster. Just the Zelda OOT HD 3DS style bump in graphics is all it would need to thrive on Switch. Lock it to 60fps 1080p. Would be epic.
I don't think Gamecube sold poorly, i think the Wii sold higher numbers due to it being aimed at casuals over gamers. Then some of the Wii owners got the Wii U which is why that sold lower, then the Switch got everyone's attention again due to it replacing the handheld market. In short, i think Star Fox Adventures and the Gamecube still did well for it's time. It's a good zelda clone and it was made by rare in an age when rare made the best 3d games. This game is good, even if it's not technically a star fox game. Also Krystal is a freakin babe.
Actual Nintendo unit sales: Game & Watch: 45 Million NES: 61 Million Gameboy/Gameboy Colour: 118 Million SNES: 49 MIllion N64: 33 MIllion GBA: 82 Million Gamecube: 21 Million (for comparison PS2 sold 155 Million units and OG Xbox 24 Million) DS: 154 Million Wii: 100 Million 3DS: 75 Million Wii U 13 Million Switch 84 Million (to 06 January 2022) Average: 69.58 Million units per console So basically the Gamecube really did sell quite poorly by Nintendo's usual standards, less than a third of their overall average and it was third place out of the three consoles available at the time it was current gen so even by that metric wasn't doing so hot if we look at it objectively. It only gets the honour of being second worst selling ever though as the Wii U did even more badly... P.s. for the record I had a Gamecube as a kid (and Starfox Adventures, hence I am here!) and I loved it, I don't think it's a bad console but it certainly didn't take off if we are being honest with ourselves.
Yeah, I mean, many people admit how much dialogue and personality Mario and the gang got in Toadstool Tour and Power Tennis. I kinda wish they bring that back, even though WarioWare's full of it nowadays thanks to some our favorite anime dubbing actors.
I wish a kangaroo could give Fox a bad guy encyclopedia on the pause menu. Kangaroo (Det. Gourou Legault): "Bonjour, monsieur McCloud. I've gathered data on the enemies we have face thus far." (can't access) "Come on, Fox! We know you've yet to meet that enemy in battle!" (signing off) "Keep up the fight, Fox. Gourou, signing off."
