Well done! greetings from the USA.
Thank you very much!
Great review. This helps me with my horizontal, consistent positioning needs in polishing. Thanks for vid.
Glad it helps
Thanks
Marc
Hey Marc.
Good to see you posting more videos.
The Welding Positioners definitely come in handy.
As you already know not a common use item which does make it difficult to commit to much money towards buying one.
I own a similar one myself which i have also posted a few videos on for those who might be interested to buy one.
Looking forward to seeing more from you soon.
Peter.
the positioner you have looks nicer and opening up the bore is probably the best thing on any positioner, i may do that to mine 1 day
Thanks
Marc
Those are beautiful welds. 😍👍
Thanks
Nice one Marc. Still here still watching
Much appreciated
Good review. you convinced me to purchase one off Ebay .
from Montana USA
Thanks
Glad you found it useful
Marc
Good video. Thanks for posting.
Your welcome
Great review mate, I’ve got a few hundred stainless bsp 2 inch pipe sockets I have to weld together and this is exactly what I need. They don’t need to be perfect but I’m having nightmares over the thought of doing them in a v block
This sort of rotary will be perfect for that
Thanks
Marc
You should put affiliate links so if we wanna buy it You get a bit in return for making our decision easier, great review
Never looked into doing that but would be a good idea for the future
Thanks
Marc
Great video !
Would you have a link for others to buy the unit?
Those welds look ridiculously professional. Like a machine made them. Congrats. I bet your customers are like Wow! You did this?
Thanks,
There not always that perfect lol
@@kinzy_fabrications Still, great work. It's very hard to achieve that without a turn table to help.
Thanks for this informative video. Wouldn't have minded to see more details about the chuck. I know nothing about these things but I'm looking at getting one to get neater TIG results like you and these come with a small chuck. I'm trying to see how the larger chucks are fitted/mounted before I pull the trigger on buying one.
All the chucks ive seen just bolt through from the back so pretty simple to mount any chuck really, the only thing this would be no good for is through chuck work as there is no through hole in the rotary the way its made
Thanks
Marc
Looking at getting one of these as I weld rollers for hangar doors and it's a pain in the arse welding them up, thought this would save me so much time
it definitely would be a time saver for big production runs
Well done!!
Thanks
A toggle relay circuit with a selector switch to choose between a momentary and latching foot switch would have been an easy job for the manufacturer and a good feature to sell their product especially when the parts are well under $20. It's also possible for anyone handy since the information you'd need is readily available....or a mechanically latching switch would work too.
Hi
I agree it would of been an easy add on for the manufacturer and 1 everyone would want to see
Thanks
Marc
It is so funny how I just came upon your video. I just found the exact turntable on eBay for $300 and free for prime members on shipping.
After seeing how well it worked out for you I'm going to order one for myself.
Good video glad you shared your experience with this.
Yeah for the money you can’t go wrong 👍
Thanks
Marc
Where is the grounding? Does your clamp attach to the positioner or just the welding table? Greetings from the US and thanks for the vid, I’ll sub 👍
Hi
I have the table ground and remove paint from the bottom of the frame on the positioner to save having another lead across the table
Thanks for the sub
Marc
Pretty cool review, I was more interested in the construction of the tank. You said you press them out in house. Why not have a double shoulder so youre doing s lap joint instead of a butt joint. Would help with heat soak too on a lap joint versus a butt joint. Would not have to worry about tacking it.
Hi
I prefer the tanks not to have a step on the body diameter like you would if you done the caps that way
Glad you like the video,
Thanks for commenting 👍
Marc
Thanks for the video! Just out of curiosity what size is the chuck you have mounted?
Hi
It’s a 5” chuck I fitted
Thanks
Marc
@@kinzy_fabrications thanks for the reply! Have a great day eh
Desmond
hi, great review! which chuck did you buy? I have just ordered one of these positioners and want to order the upgrade chuck like yours, just not sure on the fitting. how does it earth the work piece? can you get a pipe through the centre of the chuck for argon purging?
Hi
I got the chuck seperately from ebay, just a cheap import type, i have not purged through the centre as there is no hole through the main backplate on the positioner, im not sure if it could be modified though so cant say
Wonder if a light sensitive switch would work ?
Turntable starts when the arc is struck.
I'm currently getting the bits together to build a positioner - not gonna be cheap though....
It could be worth a try as a light sensitive switch wouldn’t be to expensive
@@kinzy_fabrications I'm building a table up out of bits so I may give it go - only downside is I think you may need the weld pool to form before it starts going round.
But then, I'm not sure I have enough coordination for the torch, filler, TIG pedal and positioner pedal - one or all is gonna go wrong !
Hey mate great review, 2 years on how are you finding it? Any issues? I have a Sherman tig welder and for the price point i can’t knock it!
Hi
I don’t use it loads but it’s still going, had zero issues and it’s been perfect for the sort of small jobs I do with it
Highly recommended
Thanks
Marc
Hi mate, could you run an argon hose up the spindle into the chuck for back purging?
Hi
On this one the back plate is solid but you may be able to drill through it to add an argon hose, i havent properly had a look though into it though
Thanks
Marc
I'm sure the chuck being used weighs over 5kg by itself? and the manufacturer of the turntable recommend 5kg on the horizontal setting?
The little bits i weld on it are probably 300 -400 grams so no issue for my purpose
Thanks
Marc
How does it ground? Just curious. I would think if the ground ran thru the stand it would short itself out no?
It does have a specific bracket for the welder ground but I just let it ground through the frame to the table and my welder ground is hooked up to my table and that works fine
Thanks
Marc
@@kinzy_fabrications good to know, wasn’t sure if it was that simple. Thank you!
of course, no useful instructions…. I’ve watched 3 videos and nobody mentioned how they connected the ground to the positioned?? There is a rectangle aluminum bracket on my VEVOR model similar to this one, and a block of copper, bronze that goes in the aluminum bracket that looks like it’s designed to make contact with the back side of the turntable?? BUT no spring, no anything it just free slides in and out. When you turn the table horizontal it just falls out of the aluminum bracket!! That bronze piece has wires and a open ring terminal crimped on… but no idea how to connect the ground properly? Any help would be welcome. Thanks.
Hi
On my positioner there is a terminal on the top/back plate of the frame for the ground cable but as my welding bench is earthed direct to my welder so that my table top is my earth all i done was grind the paint off the bottom of the frame so that its got a goodcontact to my table, that way i dont have to worry about a seperate earth cable and that works fine for me
Thanks
Marc
can the speed be set slow enought for all works? looks like you are already on the minimum.
It can go slower yes, it will slow till it stops
Thanks
Marc
Nice review 👌 how big is the chuck ..?
Pretty sure its a 4 or 5 inch chuck, just a cheap import job i bought seperately
Thanks for info 😆
I bought this unit and did not get the clip and carbon brush to allow the unit to give the ability to use the turntable for Welding. I've contacted vevor about this and am getting the runaround. They said it's a consumable they drop $60 off, and I then needed to find the brush and clip. I said no way either send the part or give me a return label and a full refund. I wouldn't have any idea where to buy the part and I'm assuming by there reply they don't offer replacement parts rendering it worthless in time. Bad business practice.
Luckily i did not have the same issue
you can be pleased with your welding.
Thanks, I don’t weld as much anymore but I can do what I need to
Marc
Are you able to back-purge with this thing?
You could modify it to allow use of a purge set up but i havent as i only ever use it for ally tanks
Is there any way to back purge parts on the positioner?
Hi
There is no through hole but it looks like it could be modified with a through hole and then a swivel fitting to connect a line to
@@kinzy_fabrications awesome thanks!
Would you happen to have the link for the chuck?
Hi
afraid not but it was just an import chuck that i got from ebay if i remember correctly
Thanks
Marc
Can you check the part number for the motor? I need to check the specs
Hi
All i can tell you is it a little 24v motor
Thanks
Marc
Vc tem o projeto dessa máquina
Hi
This machine is called SHERMAN PROFI
Thanks
Marc
What size Chuck is that? 4”
Hi, this is a 5" chuck
How did you ground it?
Through the table it’s on, works fine
What brand is this? Cheers
Hi
The machine tag say SHERMAN
Thanks
Marc
Our company also produces welding positioner in China
Get them on ebay for uk sales as people are always after a well priced positioner
Where ground clamp go?
Hi
I leave the ground attached to the table but there is a ground stud on the back of the rotary
Thanks
Marc
Do you have selling the machine
Hi
No I don’t sell these, I bought it from eBay
Thanks
Marc
Sherman by10?
Not sure what you mean?
Hey, Englishman, don’t you speak English? Ha. Good video and very useful information. Thank you!
Thanks for watching
Marc
if you layed a rod or two across the fit up to make a 2.6mm weld gap then tac and take the rods out , things would go a lot easier for you .
Hi
Thanks for the comment but personally i dont get on with doing it like that
Thanks
Marc
@@kinzy_fabrications
Very few weld procedures have no root gap , granted its not going to make much odds on an oil tank , but your welds would sit lower and look less like a caterpillar , but as you say each to their own , thanks for taking the time to make content though.
Hello try a wider welding cup
Hi,
A number 4 is my preffered go to cup for ally
Thanks
Marc
With aluminum, all a wider cup will get you is a larger frosting zone on the toes of the weld, which everybody wants the opposite.(The arc won't frost outside the gas envelope.)
$200 cheap lol
Cheap as it gets
