Ooh nice upload. Just saw this was coming out yesterday, right as I'm finishing my 6mm ACW :D
Definitely worth taking a look at
Exciting! Can’t wait to get my own copy!
I was very impressed, looking forward to trying it out.
Sounds nice. I will check these rules when they are avalaible.
Hope you like them 🙂
Great review and looks an interesting set of rules. I had never looked at Osprey rules till a couple of weeks ago when I played The Men Who Would Be Kings in 20mm. Great rule set for a club night, and sounds like these will be the same easy to pick up the basics and fun to play :). I am trying not to be distracted from painting DAK for the game in a few weeks' time 😂
😆 Stay on target!
…this applies to me as well 😅
@@MiniatureRealms I’m already distracted ! I was painting a Brit 1940 Battalion in 15mm.
But as usual it stalled looking for Matilda’s and Vickers tanks and a carrier company (or more) then Bedford or Morris 15cwt GS trucks this is for O Group. And Chain of Command And I Ain’t Been Shot Mum.
At least I tell myself that I’m reducing projects but if that was true why is my lead pile getting bigger…
😆 You describe the predicament of many a wargamer very well.
I’m very glad I preordered the rules after seeing this 👍
They look good don’t they
Thanks, inspiring artwork.
The artwork is very cool
Thx for the review. The Blue Series is usually of a high standard. I'm no longer a fan of base removal, but will give this probably a go.
I’ve heard good things about most of the blue series, need to try out a few more.
Excited to check it out! Love using a D10, D6 can be so swingy.
Can’t remember the last time I used D10 in a wargame, looking forward to it too.
Depends how you use the D10. In some systems it’s worse than the D6.
@@MiniatureRealms I use a D20 to convert casualties in men to figure removal
Say you kill 25men with a musket volley remove 1 figure a throw a d 20 if the men lost is 5 add this to the die roll if the total is 20 or more you kill another figure.
Roll your d6 and d20 together to save time. I use the d20 score as 0 to 19 added to the odd men killed so that if 19 men are killed you must roll 1 or more. Just saves writing down casualties.
Great review!
Thank you 🙂
I will buy these in paperback format. I would ha hoped that I could get a much discounted kindle version if ordered at the same time especially if pre ordered 😁
A great review Stewart perhaps I may buy some Epic minis, I have old strip minifigs that would mix in ..
I wish more companies did a discounted digital copy when you bought a physical product.
thank you
🙂
Looks like a combination of "Black Powder" and "Pickett's Charge".....
I heard a few people say that, sounds like a good mix.
It would be interesting to use the Unexpected Event Table for blunders in a game of Black Powder. And try having an artillery phase as well.
Absolutely, you probably try those with a few adjustments
Is it intended for a 6x4 table?
It can definitely be played on a 6x4, much will depend on figure scale and number of miniatures. I think the rulebook suggests 6x4 minimum.
Would this really be compatible with warlord epic ? Thanks
It’s compatible with any scale really, depending on basing you may need to record casualties with a dice/tokens until enough are removed to remove a base.
@@MiniatureRealms cheers man !
Black Powder meets Pickett's Charge.....
I’ve never played Pickett’s charge, heard good things though.
