    I plan on building the Lindberg Civil War cannon set, in 1-14th scale. I`ve watched MANY tutorial videos, but yours seem to be the best. When you`re looking for painting videos, I can`t stand the 'silent' ones with music where the builder doesn`t tell you the techniques he used! You splained` it beautifully. Thanks, can`t wait t start it, but there`s still that 1-350 scale Titanic on the workbench!

      Thank you, really lovely to hear you’ve enjoyed it and found it useful. That Titanic sounds like a challenge, not sure I’d have the patience, will be worth it when it’s finished though.

    Iknow that i am late to the party (video). Nice tutorial.
    I got the first release starter box, the big big one way back when Epic Battles was released. And i have been spending all the time since then painting up my army (i split the box with a friend). I got fatigued painting my CSA, becouse i treated/painted them like i did with Bolt Action, or 40k spending time highlighting them all, and painting every detail i could. I got 3 regements painted in a week. Then i moved on to other systems models.
    I have just the other day started painting them again, this time just getting some details painted, to then go back later and paint the details that the eye can catch. This is probably the way for most people. You vill never really see the back of the legs for the first rank, so try to get them "battle ready" first, then go back when you have time, and paint details/highlights on parts that you can see from a armlenght.
    I can spend hours on 40k, models, even the grunts to get them perfect, but with this scale, it will not make much except calming your inner deamon who knows that you took way to many shortcuts. If you like me have 12 or even more sprues to paint, block in the details that are easy and fast to paint, splash on some wash if you painted them light grey. add a few optional colors to legs, hats, and bed rolls. paint the base and then move on to the next unit. When every thing is "battle ready" play a few games. Then pick up a unit or two and add some refined details, repeat after a few days.=)
    Great video, great result, i love watching other paint, gives me a lot of inspiration.

      Thank you. Yes completely agree, you have to find a method to worth through them at a pace that enables you to play with them, and not drive yourself mad in the process.

      @@MiniatureRealms well i sure does not help the sanity if you also order the Gettysburg box set on top of the already big collection of unpainted from the original starter set. But i have a system figured out now.
      I only need to stick to it, and i will be able to play bigger battles soon. Thank you for your reply, and love your videos! =)

    Just now getting into Warlords ACW Epic Battles and wanted to say 2 things. 1: Great videos, I really like them and as a LONG time gamer, starting when I was 14 in 1978, metal 15mm figs were infamous FOR YEARS for actually being anywhere from 17 to 19mm in reality. Many companies had a difficult time getting "true" 15mm molded when they were still using hand-made Lead Molds, especially since the bases had to be much thicker for casting. Plastic molding allows for much greater accuracy. 2: Scale 75 is one of my favorite paints, Joryldin Turquoise isn't Spanish, that IS the English name. It's a Fantasy color and they get a little imaginative with names, hence Tiamat Orange, Braineater Azure, Toxic Waste Green, etc, etc. I am just now getting into 15mm ACW, all previous 15mm was in WWII, and I am not concerned with the scale creep, the cheapness of the figures, and the fact I can use the same sprues for CAS or US armies is a HUGE attraction to me. Keep up the good work!

      Thank you for the lovely comments, glad you’re enjoying the videos. 😊
      Sounds like nothing much has changed with variations in scale. Thank you for clearing up Joryldin, what an odd word to make up, at least the other examples you gave are either combinations of English or names from fiction/games. 😂

    Great looking unit,still bitting the bullet with my cavalry yet,doing three figures to a kallista base to make them go further,as for the first game I'm doing two units of twelve per side,might go up to fifteen if the muse is right,then onto getting some peter pig limbers.

      Sounds like you’re making good progress, I’ve still not sorted my limbers, need to get on that.

    Painting the saddle blanket red reminds me of the snog "Utah Carol" by Marty Robbins. Check it out if you haven't heard it. Thanx for the video.

    Beautiful paint job on that figure and the final unit looks great. Do you use the same zenithal + contrast + highlight for 28mm horses?

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 😊
      I think it depends on the miniature/context, but I’d very likely prepare with a zenithal highlight, I may use Contrast, it would definitely work.

    Excellent work, all your videos are my go to as I've started painting my own 15mm acw stuff. I have to ask though, what's your recipe for the white/grey horse? I'm about to paint up Lee and I'm wanting to get Traveller right...

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you 😊
      For white/grey horses are this scale I use Contrast Apothecary White over a white (or mostly white zenithal highlight), this is essentially a grey glaze which settles in the recesses and adds a grey filter to the rest. I then highlight with white after.
