    Just mesmerizing! Thank you for the very informative flosstube/podcast. Your knowledge of samplers is incredible …. I have never stitched a sampler of any kind but am very interested in your smallest design and that Roxy Floss Co thread color is beautiful.

    Loved all the designs but I really enjoyed all of the history you provided regarding the samplers ( not a history person). You made it so interesting Thanks!

    I have done a Vierlande and it was a BIG one. My husband was so impressed he had it custom framed! It's the one on Silk Stitching. It was a joy to see your Antique one and see how you broke it down so others could enjoy it. Thank you!

    This historical sampler is an achievement in ownership…thanks for all that you shared…I saw some alphabet in several middle sections…were they any clue to parents or brothers and sisters…beautiful floss created for this sampler…wishing you the best and happy stitching ❤❤❤

    Beautiful piece! I'm inspired to try the medium sized one, but I also love the mini! Decisions, decisions🤗

    Oh Jacob that was amazing. So many to choose, so little time! The Remember Me wins! And that Roxy Flossco colour. Just fabulous. It will be nice to see your smile next time! Happy stitching!

    Permin sold an 1826 Vierlande sampler as a kit: unbleached linen with DMC Mouliné in colour 939, which is a very dark blue. It looks black from a distance, but is easier on the eyes when stitching. I did more Vierlandes and as a result chose 939 every time.
    Nice video!

    Lovely pieces. I love monochromatic designs such as these. I plan to try to locate the area on a map of Germany.

    • @ModernFolkEmbroidery
      @ModernFolkEmbroidery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Connie! The area is just south-east of the city of Hamburg - on a map it won't be indicated as "vierlande" anymore I think - but the villages are Altengamme, Neuengamme, Curslack and Kirchwerder.

    I am in awe of the Vierlande original sampler. Thank you, Jacob, for your continued effort in preserving the historical treasures. I also commend you and Carrie from Roxy Floss Co for creating the perfect black/brown for their reproduction. I do believe this color would be appropriate for the Marken bands as well. Bravo and thank you!🎉

    • @ModernFolkEmbroidery
      @ModernFolkEmbroidery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Kris! Yes, the black is absolutely perfect for both Marken bands and Frisian blackwork stitching - it's just that perfect "rusty" black that I found very hard to find previously! :)

    Wow I spent quite a few minutes thinking there was something wrong with my connection. So glad I let it play for a few minutes later to realize the podcast format. Lovely patterns and definitely have the small and saying patterns on my wish list.

    Jacob - these are fantastic. Brilliant idea to chart the original and then stretch what can be done so many more people will be inspired and not think it’s out of their league.😊

      Thank you Sue! Yea - I really wanted folks to be able to enjoy it no matter what either skill levels or time restrains might be. And even a super mini Vierlande is great to stitch up I think! :)

    I couldn't resist -- I've just purchased the pdf for "When this you see..." and the floss from Evertote. I have just the right fabric here at home. This little adaptation of yours is a lovely sampler, and I'm excited to start it!

    What a wonderful addition to your sampler collection! Thank you for reproducing and designing so many new patterns for us. They look amazing. I'm having a hard time deciding which one to get 🤔 but that's a great problem to have.
    Hope all is well with you and your family. Have a lovely week.

    All of these are beautiful!!! The original large sampler is amazing!! And I would really love to stitch it - but I’m not sure about that size. I am considering the medium sampler. Then it is more manageable, and I can still do other projects too. Thank you so much for sharing this beauty with us! 💚Michele

    I look forward to seeing the sampler in October! Thanks for making the smaller versions as well. I love them all. I really don't need another big project but of course the reproduction is the one I'm drawn to most.

      Thank you Mary Ann! It's a stunner, really, I'm super happy with her in my collection. The cool thing as well is that it's a super inspiring pattern to just use a tree or a medallion on something - so you could use it as a collection of smalls as well! :)
