    Welcome to The Essentials Club tutorial channel which is all about sharing the steps to become more resourceful and creative with crafting your own minimal, conscious wardrobe.
    This tutorial takes you through the steps of how to create your own jumpsuit/co-ord set! It's a super cute number featuring a shirred/smocked tube top section with puffy sleeves and gathered, high waisted shorts. I'm obsessed with this piece and hope you like it too!
    Put aside at least a day or two to make this full set/jumpsuit as it can take a bit of time depending on your skillset :)
    Suggested Fabric Amount Required (FOR FULL SET):
    Size Extra Small = 2m (off the roll)
    Size Small = 2.5m (off the roll)
    Size Medium = 3m (off the roll)
    Size Large = 3.5m (off the roll)
    Size Extra Large = 3.5m (off the roll)
    (add or take 0.5 metres for anything larger or smaller than these sizes)
    X + Y = Suggested Elastic Amount
    X: Your waist measurement plus 3 inches
    Y: Very loose measurement of upper arm circumference x 2
    (if you're unsure of how much to order always best to be on the safe side and order a little bit more incase of errors)

    Although this is longer than most sewing tutorials ive watched, i would choose to watch your long and thorough videos with great visuals other than the videos ive watched where they explain things far too quickly and speed through most of the process. Thank you for this awesome video!

    Thank you for your life! Your tutorials are exactly what a beginner like me needs, everything in sections/parts, starts from taking measurements, explaining everything and why we need to add inches etc. And visually shows how the fabric will actually lay on the body every step of the way. JUST PERFECTION. Lol ❣️

I've hand wounded the elastic numerous times, did everything accordingly, still doesn't work. What stitch do you uss? Straight or zigzag? And what about the stitch width? I've tried everything. • @TheEssentialsClub
      @TheEssentialsClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @lokyees1706
    @lokyees1706 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Hello! Do you backstitch with the shirring and cut threads to start a new line each time? Or do you just lift the presser footer up and pivot between lines? :)

    • @TheEssentialsClub
      @TheEssentialsClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I just lift and continue between each line that way this saves shirring thread and time - but still backstitch at the beginning and end when you do this so it keeps it secure. But no harm in stopping and starting each new line. Totally up to what you prefer :)

    • @lokyees1706

    I looooove this so much! How much fabric would you suggest if I'm just planning on making the top in xs/small size?

    Sin duda me encanto el resultado, sin embargo no domino el inglés y se me dificulta, si alguien pudiese ponerle subtitulos por favor 🥰🥰 o tal vez podría poner las fórmulas que usas.

    Can we talk about those white pants at 0:14?? Is there a video for that?

    I have watched this tutorial so many times, it's time to try it myself! I am thinking about opting the crop sleeve for a full length sleeve. What is the best way/measurments to go about this? Thank you!!

      Exciting! Can't wait to see how it turns out. Just a the step where I measure down from my shoulder to my elbow instead go to your wrist or wherever you would like it to finish and then just follow the steps as normal but instead you'll have more length :)

    Love this top! Could you stop after the shirting and wear the top as a bandeau/tube top?

      Definitely! My first tutorial on here is exactly that. Turns out so cute :)

    If we want the sleeve to be more fitted, how much fabric should we use (like instead of multiplying the shoulder measurement by 1.25, what should it be?)..thank you!

      If you don't want it as oversized, I'd say just add 2 inches to the measurement for seam allowance and that means you can skip the gathering at the top step. Then there'll be less fabric down the bottom for the elastic band section. Hope that makes sense :)

    I am
    So frustrated. I have a singer 2277. I have tried all of your tips tricks videos. I’ve changed stitch length to 3-4, tension from 5 all way up to 9. Stretching flat as I sew , tightened and loosen bobbin casing, light weight fabric and still it is not working fabric shir is loose and or top thread popping ? Do you have any suggestions or does some machines just not shir?

    How much sheering thread is needed?

  • @neonelectric9668

    This may sound stupid, but how do I know what size I am?? So that I know how much fabric I need. (All girls sizing is so arbitrary from brand to brand so I don’t actually know what size I am generally in store-bought stuff...)
