    This looks epic, I'm definitely going to try! Do you have any more details on what you're basing the sizes on? I.e. body measurements etc or standardised sizing? I have no idea whether I'd be a medium or a large, as I'm anything from an 'S' to an 'L' depending on the shop. x

      Hi omg ~ just wanna say I loveeee your videos! Hehehe 😊 I would recommend using the step 1 process to figure out how much fabric you need rather than using the rough estimates she provided that way you know for sure how much to get! ❤

      So true! I just base it on aus standard sizing. But like someone else commented if you find the length of one panel that’d be your indicator for how much to order.
      So if my panel is 27 inches (roughly 70cm) I’d probably round it up just to be safe by a few inches or 5cms and order that much 😊
      Hope that helps!

    Hi! Really love the idea! I tried making a top like this for myself and for some reason when i started to attach the elastic there wasn't enought for the length. do you know what could be the problem?

    I have the skinny one and I haven't used it yet. I'm actually feel like this one would be easier, I like the flat version better. which one do you feel is easier? ❤

    Sorry, if you mentioned it and I missed it, but what settings did you use for the zigzag stitch on the elastic? i.e. thread tension, stitch length etc. Will try sewing this soon!

    • @paulinec1491
      @paulinec1491 ปีที่แล้ว

      yesss, I would like to know too!

    • @TheEssentialsClub
      @TheEssentialsClub  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I kept my tension around mid so 4-5. Then make the width of the zig zag the max or enough to cover width of elastic. Lastly, play around with the increase of length of stitch so that when it compresses back it has space - I think I had my length around a 3 or 4

    I have the same machine as you and I’m struggling to sew over the elastic in step 6. The bobbin keeps tangling and I can’t get past the first stitch. Any tips? Did you use a special needle?

    • @TheEssentialsClub
      @TheEssentialsClub  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh how annoying! I actually didn’t change the needle. But it could be worth trying a stretch needle or something like a denim needle that can handle the thickness a bit better. If that doesn’t help then maybe play around with the tension. Hopefully that helps!

    For some reason every time I sew the elastic into the garment, it comes back super loose. Idk what I’m doing wrong. I’ve measured it around my body so it’s snug and it’s still coming away too big? If anyone can help that would be awesome
