Hey Mitch ...... GREAT ride !! How's the weather been down your way ? We had a "Heat Wave" here in Massachusetts , 3 days of over 90 degrees ... ( I know that ain't nothing to you folks, but it's a scorcher for us Northern guys) !! Glad that Greg hung-in there , to finish the trip ....

Hello Eric! I think k we have been in the 90s about everyday for the past couple of weeks. Been dry for the past 10 days or so and grass is getting crackelly...if that's a word.
Greg and I actually started another ride last week to Devils Triangle near Knoxville but didn't make it. His bike started spitting, sputtering and dying. Limped it home again and it hits the HD shop this coming Friday.
      Thanks and stay cool!

Been watching a few of your videos (ok... Binge watching). Which do you recommend for a first time twisties ride? The Back of the Dragon or The Tail of the Dragon? Which is more scenic and more of a nicer ride? I would be going north to Back of Dragon which I would take 16 North and then 421 south to come back. Which to me is 2 twisty roads for the price of One. Love your bike BTW, I think the old Goldwings are nostalgic.

      Thanks!
Being as I've yet to ride the Tail of the Dragon I would have to recommend the Back. From watching other videos and reading it seems that the TAIL has a whole lot more traffic and can be a little dangerous due to folks rising and driving recklessly.
We rode the Back on a Wednesday and there was very little traffic.
You didn't say which part of 421 you were riding but I'm gonna guess The Snake? That is a real good ride also!

I rode the Back of the Dragon twice and the first time there was a horrible storm during the night. In the morning we hit the road and when going around some curves the road was blocked by tree limbs so we ha to be careful. It was still a great ride. We even stopped at the same pull off you stopped at. Another fantastic ride guys please keep it up.

Sounds like y'all had quite the ride! Those twigs, limbs and branches can present some challenging situations on a bike. Glad y'all had a good ride even with the rough conditions!
Thanks! We hope Greg can get back on the road in a week or two. Might have to start a GoFundMe to help him pay! 🤔

@@LifeInTheGap Mitch, a "Go fund me" is a great idea .... Let me know, I'd definitely contribute to it !!

JK but with what HD charges to service a bike, I told Greg he might as well buy a new one! His bike is due for its 30k mile service and they told him it would cost $1200-1500!
