How do you expect anyone with a low wage, poverty job, living in a City/State; that charges:
City, State, and Federal Taxes, only earning $15 an hour, to afford the rent for their Studio or
1 bdrm apt. is $1,800 a month!
Example: NYC charges City, State, Federal Taxes!
$15 an hour on a 40 hour work week is $600!
After taxes, without any Dependants; the paycheck is around $387 to $400!
How does one pay their: Electric and Gas bills, pay for Laundry, Pay their Cell Phone Bill, Pay for Healthy Food; after paying $1800 month rent?
This is one of the main reasons for Homelessness!
Working 3 jobs; 65 to 80 hours a week leads to:
Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Psychological Exhaustion!
Poor eating habits, Lack of Proper Sleep, overall Poor Healthcare!
Leads to
High Blood Pressure, Stroke,
Heart Attack,
Diabetes, and Mental Breakdown!

You wanna know what's even more sad despite the FACTS you have stated? People will respond to your statement as, it's because you're "lazy", you should've gone to college like everyone else and be in "debt" like most people so you can have a better "job/career". Even though, MOST of the decent wage you make going right back to college and credit debt for the next 15 to 25 years of your life. Plus on top of anything else you may want. Your own house for example. All the homeless people yet helping migrants, is beyond belief also the amount of men and women who served in the military, that are homeless and people with a degree and multiple degrees. Giving a well paid job to people although qualified, yet cheaper labour OK you want the dream go into the military for four years.
I join the military at 17. I have no regrets!! I want for nothing!! People have negative comments about joining, I thought about benefits and long term.

I live in a city that may be third in America for the amount of homeless population. My mom used to work for the city for greyhound and she said so many times she would give homeless people free tickets back to their city to get back on their feet. But they would always come back here because we enable and treat them so well. Hard drug usage is decriminalized, businesses have closed down because homeless people sleep by the doors and refuse to leave and no one cares. I do recognize that there are some homeless that want to get back on their feet but I think that for a lot of them, they’re trying to wean out people by any means necessary

I also believe that with the recent passing and demand in minimum wage increases across the board, the country is also looking for more under the table workers. It's all about cause and effect.
