I envy your expertise. I wasn't having any heating problems (2010 IS250 AWD) but a dull belt noise which didn't go away once the engine was warm. I had to replace the thermostat, the belt/pulley and tensioners. Expensive, yet I have an honest mechanic.
@@Itsblubihh lmao, not gonna lie i just ended up breaking off the old thermostat housing. It was still tough tightening that bolt back but it got done 😅
I just did mine exactly how you did it except I had to take off two holes in order to get to the bottom bolt , is there anyway you can tell me if me taking off those two holes controls anything with the ac , because now my ac light on the touchscreen blinks off and on . but when i turn it on it still blows cold air , than 5 min after turning it on it flashes again but starts to blow regular air
Would i need to change the thermostat if my car heats up? I don’t get hot air no matter how long I have it on but if it’s running for a couple of mins it starts to heat up.
If it heats up after a few minutes, I would think that is normal since my car is also slow to get up to operating temp. After about 5 miles of driving I usually hit operating temp. Hope that helps, thanks for watching.
Hi sir,one question;is it possible to only change the thermostat itself, instead of the whole assembly?ifso,is it easy to remove, and do you know where to buy the oem ones thermostat
Not possible to replace just thermostat. It is designed by Toyota to replace entire unit. here is a link for the one you need. IS250 Thermostat amzn.to/3FSQFSv
Can someone expert here help me with a question ? So i have 2015 lexus is250 4gr fse with 200,000 miles (might have never changed coolant ). And suddenly one day it started overheating, since i was close to my home i drove home and turn up the heat and parked it and temperature gauge went down and i turn off the car. Then next day it worked totally fine and ever since after that its been a week now its never overheated so i don't know which part can cause that. I just drained and filled the coolant from radiator and reservoir only. Is there any other way to figure out what could be wrong or cause ? Thanks.
Question so I took my car in kus I had a check engine light on they had to replace my ecm so what I got it back the light came on again and it’s says it’s the Thermostat is that something that they need to fix if my light came on or it’s different???????
MY ECU housing was cracked and ecu was shorting out and causing the car to idle improperly. Had it replace and car idles smooth and quiet now. Thanks for watching.

im getting check engine light code for engine coolant temp sensor low circuit just replaced it cleared code and came back on after 30 min of driving could i need to replace thermostat too?
I have a is350 I replaced the radiator and water pump. My coolant always disappears and sometimes coolant boils inside of the overflow tank. I want to know if my thermostat is the problem. Even though I tried to bleed the system the old school way with a funnel and let the engine run. Still see bubbles with smoke sometimes. Hopefully its not a head gasket. I want to know any pointers.
I would think if your coolant is boiling that the thermostat is stuck or seized close and the coolant is not passing through the radiator. I would pull the thermostat and submerge it in boiling water to see if the spring opens up. If it does that is not the problem, but if the valve does not open, replace it. Good luck!
@@relentlessking8919 did you get it fixed or quoted? I think I'm starting to have the same issue and was gonna replace the thermostat tomorrow morning. I have 2007 Lexus IS 250 with 224k 😬miles.

Nice job getting that sorted out. I hate the noise from a squealing belt. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Last year I had the radiator replaced at a friend's repair shop along with a new thermostat and new coolant and the air conditioner was very cold.
Nice work and thanks for watching.
Really helpful man, thanks alot
Your very welcome, thanks for watching.
Спасибо большое за видео !!!
MUST have ratchets however a funnel is OPTIONAL 😁 good video👍
Great point!
I have 2006 Lexus RX400H, show me how installed inverter
Did you ever fix the temp sensor I noticed the temp gauge never moved
Wouldn’t it be better to do a whole coolant flush while you’re doing it to avoid the spilling and also for preventative maintenance?
I thin that is bad idea because after he gonna have to take out the air and is hard
It seems like you cut the footage of you getting the third bolt. What did you have to do? Currently struggling on that right now
Same bro lol

Everything went smooth until I had to get to that bottom bolt… any tips on how to get to it? I can’t for the life of me.

What’s the name of the hose in the center at the bottom? Next to the thermostat hose?
You have check vsc. I have the same thing. Never had a chance to have it checked out. Any thoughts on that?
It transmission solenoid issue, nothing major
You were trying to get heat i need mine to stay cold on idle start up or at lights when i stop so is it still thermostat?
Thanks, perfect and good info👍🏾

Great video are you going to change the rear differential fluid
I need to get around to doing that. Car is old and it probably needs to be done. I will make a video of the process of course.
What happens when temperatures rise above half way 🤔
That would be very concerning, dont want to blow your head gasket.
Is this the same on the is350

Check the thermostat, that is what regulates engine temperature.
I have no fans running so I'm asking for a location of a thermostat sensor
I saw that you had the vsc light on, how do you get rid of that?
I think after u fix it u clear the code if it doesn’t come back up fixed the issue if not there’s a bigger underlying issue

next time firstly add some coolant to your expansion tank 😀because that was the reason for heating issue I think
Thanks for the tip, I will top her off.
Idle is so noisy glad it’s the di lol I had to get used to that

Hey i changed mine but it seems to be leaking super bad from top hose.
It doesnt seem to be loose at all
Maybe the hose clamp cut the hose?
