Great video and so so true! I involve my girls in everything I do. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping. they get to pick their foods for their BOBs and like you said, patience is key and also making things fun.

Great video. As a parent of three beautiful girls, now beautiful women,I can tell you some of their fondest memories of growing up were the times we spent hiking and camping and just being together outdoors in the great state of Texas. Leading by example and including are some of the most important things we can to for our children and the children that will one day be inheriting our planet. We all choose our own paths in life but the values our parents instill in us will always be an influence on our decisions and our destiny.

You are right, children can handle a lot. It's the parents that can t. Exposing them to various thing in the outdoors will stimulate their mental and physical growth (within reason).

Very good video. Thank you! I have 2 sons and it's hard to find videos that involve children. In a bug out or in situation involving the kids is very important.

Yes I agree. I have lots of videos with my kids in them, they’re part of the family and should know skills and plans as much as anyone else. Kids are quite smart, as I’m sure you know. Thank you!

I love the pictures! When you are a family, you DO things together. If you don't do what you love with your children, they won't love it too. This doesn't mean all children will love all things mom and dad do, but they must be exposed. You and your husband are raising an outdoor kiddo! Too many new parents today are afraid of their infant. Just Do It! Good for you all!!

Awesome video, she will be a thriver and leader if needed when the time comes. Too many people do things to protect their children with good intentions but fail at preparing them for reality. Sheltering a child from everything is just as bad as abusing or neglecting them. Because they neglect their state of mind. How many people out there when something happens the first thing they do is pick up their phone and ask for help, they cant change a tire, or a light bulb, but they can navigate through 50 levels on a video game with ease. Just 1 day per week of family time with hiking, beach day, board games, and work in skills as they get older like knot tying, fire starting/safety, 911 procedures, first aid, and basic bushcraft. Don't be so busy protecting your child your not preparing your child. And also teach them about loss, its gonna happen. If they don't learn to deal with it it will crush them when they get older. Losing a pet, friend, or loved one is a learning opportunity. Not to mention if shtf happens everyone is gonna lose someone and if your not prepared you will be a basket case in the middle if a disaster, there will be no Red Cross or ptsd counseling. By the way most ptsd is preventable with preparedness.

I personally think you are doing an a+ awsome job! You have got your head screwed on very straight and tight in reality. The little ones are a hell of a lot tougher than a lot of people give them credit for. Boy scouts has been the greatest thing ever for me and my grandson, and now everything we do has some aspect of bushcraft/prepping/survival. I think your little pumpkin is a very lucky little girl.

This is excellent advice! I think you're an awesome mother and you are going to have one smart girl there. Keep on doing what you're doing. I agree with Prepper Potpourri, you should keep a journal and write a book later on. I'd buy it! Lol! Thanks for being so inspiring and sharing what you learn with us.

This also preps you, because you are familiar with and practised in the art of managing a child in less than ideal situations.

Cool video. I like the format too. I agree with everything you said. And every kid is definitely unique. I have 5 and they are all opposites of each other. I wish i had started earlier with the oldest of my kids, getting them into prepping. But they have benefited from the most camp time and time in the woods - it got harder to do with each extra child. As it stands now, my oldest will be survivalists and my youngest will be hardcore preppers haha.

But one unique thing with having multiple kids is I have tried to teach them to always look out for each other and that they are each others support system.

Are you planning to homeschool her once the time comes? From everything you've said in this video, you sound like you already have all of the qualities that make an excellent homeschool teacher. Really, it's not very much more than what you're doing now; just with a little administrative work on top to make it official. :)

Beautiful video! Such great and personal life story. One of your best videos by far about the actual day /years in the life of a prepper and their family. Feels nice to know you, almost like a long distance family you make others life's better because you care about not only your family but others as well. Keep doing what you do. You are appreciated 👍😊👍

What a great way to grow up for a kid out of the bs and the saturation of technology
