  • Five years ago, former Ghanaian President John Kufuor flew into the country at a time when Kenya was literally burning at the height of the post election violence that erupted in the aftermath of the announcement of the disputed december 2007 presidential election and the subsequent swearing in of President Kibaki on december 30th that year. He was in the country to help mediate the political crisis, upon President Mwai Kibaki's invitation to initiate dialogue between the president's party of National Unity and the main opposition party ODM, led by Raila Odinga. Kufuor reflects back on what it took to get Kibaki and Odinga to talk . The former Ghanian leader is encouraged by reforms put in place and is hopeful there will be no repeat of the violence witnessed five years ago
