She is kinda underrated. But it's understandable given that her voice alone is enough to put off some people, and she likes to 'do her own thing' more than most other members meaning she gets less clips and collabs.
I'm sad that the Midnight Piano (now Electone) streams, where she just practice different songs on stream wasn't included. Every night I just play it in the background to listen to while fighting the urge to fall asleep since it's too comfy asf. It's so cute listening to her fumble (barehen~ barehen~) while playing but when she finishes a full song you couldn't help but clap and feel so proud.
I dont follow her but I opened one up recently and was like "so what we are just chilling here and listening to the bgm or what?" and then it hit me that it was her playing, not a recording.

To clarify the 3D debut: Luna-tan is well known as one of 6he best dark souls players in Hololive. Also, she and Matsuri have a close friendship and it's super precious. Needed the Subaru clip talking about Luna coming to visit, it's gold.
It's a shame there's nothing left of her Dark Souls streams since the great purge, I've always wanted to see how much of a pro she is. I hope she does another stream of one of them some day. Man, the entire 4th Gen crew is absolutely stellar. Every single one of them is crazy good at what they do. The Angel and Gorilla combo that are vocal powerhouses, the Sheep that has the power to heal your soul, the Ya-kusa Doragon who was a literal juggernaut of the industry that revolutionized vtubing and brought east and west together... and last but not least this amazing 0 year old Baby who NEVER breaks character. I applaud her purely because of her sheer willpower to continue with her role, even though everyone knows that her potential audience size is gimped right from the start just because of her character type which isn't appealing to many. Plus her late night piano learning streams were the best, watching someone slowly get better over time is a total joy to experience. :D
The first time I saw Luna, I was like "Hell no!" and then Monster Hunter Rise released and I didn't do anything else, but playing it myself and watching her 6-12 h long streams, every day. Now, I love that spoiled brat!

She's pretty damn funny and she occasionally plays some retro games I caught her playing Super Metroid and Donkey Kong Country 2 and I know she also played Megaman X recently plus she's a Monster Hunter Vet and apparently good at Dark Souls
The funny part is that when the holo girls (Luna, Nene, Marine, Miko) had a 3d sit up competition much later on, Luna managed to do the most sit ups. She really upped her stamina over the months.
To be fair she seemed to be running on pure willpower during the competition. It's a bit of a shame it wasn't included here as it serves as an excellent punchline to all the other "0-stamina" clips that was included, and the whole thing was hilarious in general.

I consider Luna to be the last boss of Hololive. She epitomizes the negative perception that people outside of the fandom initially have of Vtubers; she's an insufferably cutesy, innocent, pink princess. Although new viewers might be deterred by that character personality initially, it is actually the dedication to that character that is Luna's strength. She never drops character, and that is a recipe for comedy whenever she collabs with other members, especially more degenerate ones like Coco, Matsuri, and Marine. Luna's English lessons during Asacoco was the perfect showcase of why she's so great, and probably sold a lot of people on her character. It makes me wonder what would have happened if Luna was in some other group, where the members where more reserved and tame. Would she just blend in as another cutesy girl, and never get the chance to show how funny she is, because she doesn't have the perfect people to bounce off of?

Hey Nagzz! Just commenting since I know you've said you like the clips when VTubers drop character or let out their "real" voice. Luna called into a Haachama cooking when Haachama was making takoyaki (one of Luna's favorite foods I think) and Haachama's scuffed cooking broke her enough that she almost dropped the voice. Super hilarious and one of my favorite Luna clips
Luna actually hurt herself while falling during the 3D horror stream. I don't remember what it was but people were quite worried at the time when she later said that she needed time to heal from her injury. She's fine now though.
I hope Nagzz was able to see some of Luna's moments with Matsuri. The relationship between these two is absolutely wholesome. They offered gifts to each other during their birthday streams, and Matsuri even sang a song dedicated to Luna. Luna is also part of 2 groups, one with Subaru and Choco, and one with Aki and Roboco called Anpontan Sisters.
I don't think Matsuri and Luna are much of a thing anymore, Matsuri talked about when they had a falling out for a little bit. They're still friends, but not as close as they were. Luna seems to be more into Subaru now, seeing how they interact and the amount of collabs that they've done lately.

Yeaaahh Luna!! I love Luna man, she deserves so much more attention than she gets, she's freaking hilarious. She's completely self-aware of how sickly sweet her character is and the more annoyed people are by it the more she plays it up to drive them mad. But then eventually you just give into your own madness and can't help but find her adorable. There is no winning against her. We are all but playthings in the palm of her hand. (Also her English streams are some of my all-time favourite Hololive streams, they're amazing) Also there are probably millions of comments saying this already, I haven't refreshed yet, but "nanora" is just her babyish way of saying "nanoda", doesn't really mean anything on its own, but it's basically like another way of saying "desu"
Matsuri always reach out to Holomembers that are seem too shy and can't connect with others. Subaru? She's just great with anyone she's with. Extrovert and full of energy. Recently Subaru, Luna and Botan plays a lot together and 2 of them are so funny that Botan keep on inviting them to play just so she can have her usual laughing fit.
Troll Luna is best Luna, imo. The way she handled Subaru in 7 Days to Die is what made me love the both of them actually. The Triggering of Marine is also awesome, especially now that we have it animated. And the way she named the dinosaur they were going to breed in ARK "Matsuri" was also really fun. Just a few of my favourite Luna moments, moments that those new in the rabbit hole probably won't stumble across any more. The content flows on.

I'm pretty sure Inugami means Dog God which is a play on how in English Dog spelled backward is God obviously, Nekomata Means Returning Cat in reference to the 9 lives myth. As a bonus Peko is an onomatopoeia that represents snacking and Pekoras name is a combination of Angora which is a type of rabbit and peko.
The other princess you were thinking of at the beginning is Pekora, princess of Pekoland. EDIT: Jumping off something Fan said at the end, it’s not just Subaru Luna’s connected with, those two have formed a mini collab group with Choco and Botan, where it’s mainly Botan carrying them through various FPS games.

Ok, not much extra to give on this one! Luna has been practicing the keyboard for a while now and apparently good quite good at it, what princess-like thing, right? This is very bittersweet, but Fan's right, her anniversary wish to perform on stage with the rest of 4th Gen in their idol outfits did come true; the reason she wished for that in the first place is that they performed on stage at Hololive's 2nd Fes, but they weren't in their idol outfits at the time because those models weren't ready to use. Their idol outfit versions would be rolled out over the next few months and each used them in individual or collab 3D singing streams, but there wasn't a moment where they were all together for a long while. The chance did come again, and all five of them did perform together on stage in their idol outfits... at Coco's graduation. So it was both the first and last time they'd all be able to perform together like that.
I've been waiting for this video. I'm happy you checked her out already, but disappointed about the video selection more or less...maybe you checked them on stream, but I was hoping to see them here. To clarify the 3D debut: Luna-tan is well known as one of 6he best dark souls players in Hololive. Also, she and Matsuri have a close friendship and it's super precious.

The song Matsuri made for Luna is one the reason I actually got to Hololive music.
Man, the entire 4th Gen crew is absolutely stellar. Every single one of them is crazy good at what they do. The Angel and Gorilla combo that are vocal powerhouses, the Sheep that has the power to heal your soul, the Ya-kusa Doragon who was a literal juggernaut of the industry that revolutionized vtubing and brought east and west together... and last but not least this amazing 0 year old Baby who NEVER breaks character. I applaud her purely because of her sheer willpower to continue with her role, even though everyone knows that her potential audience size is gimped right from the start just because of her character type which isn't appealing to many. Plus her late night piano learning streams were the best, watching someone slowly get better over time is a total joy to experience. :D

One of my favorite clips is her throwing a temper tantrum when she finally got her turn in the “crane” game and got an “error” instead
The funny part is that when the holo girls (Luna, Nene, Marine, Miko) had a 3d sit up competition much later on, Luna managed to do the most sit ups. She really upped her stamina over the months.
To be fair she seemed to be running on pure willpower during the competition.
It's a bit of a shame it wasn't included here as it serves as an excellent punchline to all the other "0-stamina" clips that was included, and the whole thing was hilarious in general.

Great video, I couldn't get into Luna early on, her cutesy voice bothered me but she grew on me a lot and I love her. She's legitimately one of the funniest members of Hololive, her sense of humor is underrated I think.
She used to be when she was still new but she crossed the threshold long ago to the point that she now sometimes has to catch herself from saying peko in public.
I consider Luna to be the last boss of Hololive. She epitomizes the negative perception that people outside of the fandom initially have of Vtubers; she's an insufferably cutesy, innocent, pink princess. Although new viewers might be deterred by that character personality initially, it is actually the dedication to that character that is Luna's strength. She never drops character, and that is a recipe for comedy whenever she collabs with other members, especially more degenerate ones like Coco, Matsuri, and Marine. Luna's English lessons during Asacoco was the perfect showcase of why she's so great, and probably sold a lot of people on her character.
It makes me wonder what would have happened if Luna was in some other group, where the members where more reserved and tame. Would she just blend in as another cutesy girl, and never get the chance to show how funny she is, because she doesn't have the perfect people to bounce off of?

I'm a bit sad that you didn't talk about all her Ring Fit streams. She sometimes plays it for hours, working hard to improve herself. Also no mention of her piano was a bit odd since that's one of her biggest things

Hey Nagzz! Just commenting since I know you've said you like the clips when VTubers drop character or let out their "real" voice. Luna called into a Haachama cooking when Haachama was making takoyaki (one of Luna's favorite foods I think) and Haachama's scuffed cooking broke her enough that she almost dropped the voice. Super hilarious and one of my favorite Luna clips
Luna actually hurt herself while falling during the 3D horror stream. I don't remember what it was but people were quite worried at the time when she later said that she needed time to heal from her injury. She's fine now though.
I hope Nagzz was able to see some of Luna's moments with Matsuri. The relationship between these two is absolutely wholesome. They offered gifts to each other during their birthday streams, and Matsuri even sang a song dedicated to Luna.
Luna is also part of 2 groups, one with Subaru and Choco, and one with Aki and Roboco called Anpontan Sisters.

I don't think Matsuri and Luna are much of a thing anymore, Matsuri talked about when they had a falling out for a little bit. They're still friends, but not as close as they were. Luna seems to be more into Subaru now, seeing how they interact and the amount of collabs that they've done lately.

Yeaaahh Luna!! I love Luna man, she deserves so much more attention than she gets, she's freaking hilarious. She's completely self-aware of how sickly sweet her character is and the more annoyed people are by it the more she plays it up to drive them mad. But then eventually you just give into your own madness and can't help but find her adorable. There is no winning against her. We are all but playthings in the palm of her hand. (Also her English streams are some of my all-time favourite Hololive streams, they're amazing)
Also there are probably millions of comments saying this already, I haven't refreshed yet, but "nanora" is just her babyish way of saying "nanoda", doesn't really mean anything on its own, but it's basically like another way of saying "desu"

Quick note on korone and okayu's names. In inugami, the gami part is a modified reading of kami, meaning god, and is written with an obscure kanji that refers to the Chinese Zodiac dog. For okayu, nekomata refers to a creature from Japanese folklore.

I'm pretty sure Inugami means Dog God which is a play on how in English Dog spelled backward is God obviously, Nekomata Means Returning Cat in reference to the 9 lives myth. As a bonus Peko is an onomatopoeia that represents snacking and Pekoras name is a combination of Angora which is a type of rabbit and peko.
Luna might be the most underrated member of Hololive, she's one of my top favorites and everything she does is golden.

Ok, not much extra to give on this one! Luna has been practicing the keyboard for a while now and apparently good quite good at it, what princess-like thing, right? As for clips that might have come up in the stream but not here, there is the crane game fiasco where she throws a fantastic baby tantrum, top Luna content right there. Another one is from Subaru's perspective, when Luna first visited her house and was quite the spoiled princess (this story was animated so check that out), and finally, there's an animation out there with giant-sized Luna having a kaiju fight with giant Watame, godzilla theme included.

More than any other character in Hololive, Luna's ability to keep to her gimmick shows incredible dedication. It seems like her character (especially speech) in particular would be exceptionally difficult.

This is very bittersweet, but Fan's right, her anniversary wish to perform on stage with the rest of 4th Gen in their idol outfits did come true; the reason she wished for that in the first place is that they performed on stage at Hololive's 2nd Fes, but they weren't in their idol outfits at the time because those models weren't ready to use. Their idol outfit versions would be rolled out over the next few months and each used them in individual or collab 3D singing streams, but there wasn't a moment where they were all together for a long while. The chance did come again, and all five of them did perform together on stage in their idol outfits... at Coco's graduation. So it was both the first and last time they'd all be able to perform together like that.
Luna piano streams help me on June and August 2020 when everything was so somber. She's always a piece of fun for everyone.

In case you or anyone is curious, her piano/electone streams are a must. She's really good at MonHun, and well, showing a bit more of her collabs would've been great, like FestivaLuna content, or SubaChocoLuna.
