Fun fact, Pekora's reaction to IRyS' English is actually one of the biggest compliment a Japanese person can give to anyone not native to Japan. It basicly meant she forgot she wasn't Japanese for a while. IRyS' Japanese is at the level of native speakers, so much Pekora forgot for a moment she wasn't Japanese.
@@aether9083 Native speaker doesn't mean born on Japanese ground. Even Japanese people born outside of Japan aren't treated as well as Japanese born on Japanese grounds. She might be a native speaker, Pekora reacting like that mean she spoke in a manner only Japanese born on Japanese ground would speak normaly. A way of speaking most outsiders wouldn't understand and get how to use, if you want.

I meant she made Pekora forget she wasn't born in Japan. Don't get me wrong, Japan acceppt with open arms Japanese people born outside of Japan who chose their Japanese nationalty over the other one, but it will still be harder for them to settle there than someone born in Japan. Japanese are way more judgemental toward them than those born in Japan because Japaneses have a way of life very distinct from anywere else in the world. Anyone born outside of Japan will make mistakes that might not be dramatic, but will show how difficult it is to really adapt to that life style. Making a Japanese person born in Japan forget for a moment you weren't born in Japan is a feat in and off itself, something IRyS achieved with Pekora. By the way, those mistakes are also in the way they will speak, especialy if they speak in a formal way. When I said her Japanese is at the level of a native speaker, that's what I meant, she is that good even at formal speaking, something even some people born in Japan struggle to achieve these days. She is that good at japanese, better than some people who lived there their whole lives. She obviously makes mistakes now and again, but not often enough to help people remember she was born outside of Japan. I hope this help understand what I meant better.

And yeah, unfortunately, the term "native-speaker" can be a bit ambiguous and isn't very helpful in a world where immigration is much more common. In linguistics, it can be a bit of a controversial term since it used to mean exactly what you thought: speaking the language of one's birthplace. However, that often isn't the case anymore since a lot of people grow up speaking multiple languages fluently. Nowadays, "native language" is synonymous with "mother tongue" or the language one inherited from/was raised with by their parents. When using Spanish, I don't need to translate or actively get into Spanish mode. It's completely automatic and subconscious. However, when I try to speak French, even for the slightest instant, there is some active thought I need to put into it to communicate. For any language learned after childhood, as fluency increases, the need for active effort decreases continually but never completely goes away. This is kinda like Kiara with her Japanese, or you might notice this when speaking English.

I mean the video is about Irys and still it doesn't contain anything about Santa, "Yabairys" or similiar running gags with her (aside from the dynamic with Bae). On the other hand the Mario Kart clips weren't that interesting or defining for who she is.

Her demon side symbolizes fear, which is the opposite of hope, and also fits with her debut since so many feared what would happen next or if anyone else would graduate but than an angels choir sang out and our dorky hope Nephilim descended four times and made at least some of the pain and despair go away.

Fan conflated Attila with Genghis Khan. The Huns were from eastern Europe, the Mongols from Mongolia. Both were steppe nomads who used horse archers to great effect, but they're almost 800 years apart.
Studies on Steppe peoples are difficult (not a lot of records from them) but more studies have shown that the Huns may be a part of the Xiongnu which are a group that are one of the ancestors of the Turks. The Xiongnu were a group that attacked China and claimed some Chinese relation as well.
I have completely fallen for IRyS since she debuted. She's so much fun, and so great in collabs. She just radiates charisma. Her "divorce" with Bae has been a ongoing highlight recently. Bae's minecraft stream with Mio being the highlight of that.
That is a JRPG villain, you might as well try to make Kanata a Biblically accurate angel if you want to make them closer to the actual source materiel.
A funny thing about how big of a deal that was made of IRyS "descending" in her debut and her first MV that has her jumping from Toyko Tower, apparently she's actually really scared of heights and claims that, though she can fly as a half-angel, she prefers to fly only a few feet off the ground. Also, she scuffed her debut stream just a bit at the beginning; she tried to lower herself down from the top of the screen i.e. "descending", but she left herself muted and couldn't unmute, so she floated down, started talking without saying anything, then panicked and went back to her intermission screen. She then tried again and had the same thing happen, and then finally nailed it on the third take, so she technically "descended" three times, which her chat still teases her about to this day.

Thanks for covering this. IRyS is a very endearing vtuber for sure. One thing that is extremely typical of IRyS, that wasnt really covered, is her unparalleled ability to *unintentionally* say stuff out of context or that can easily get misunderstood as innuendo, probably because her english isnt at native level. For this reason one of her most popular fan nicknames has become YabaIRyS, and she is usually not even aware that she said something weird until chat starts going supersonic, and it is both very cute and fun. I’d recommend Naggz to look up a few clips of that, as there should be more than plenty
Part of her lore is still secret, we know as much. One theory (partially originating in Ollie's lyrics analysis stream of IRyS' "Cesura of Despair") assumes that IRyS innate duality as a angel/devil hybrid makes her not only the symbol of hope, but also of despair. With Omegaα implied to be the representation of the end and new beginnings (enemy of Council, aka reality as it currently is; "omega", the last Greek letter representing the end, leading into "alpha", the first Greek letter representing the beginning), her songs lyrics hinting at cyclical destruction and recreation and the Council lore videos confirming her to be older than the universe, she may be the arbiter of the death & rebirth of reality itself. ... which would mean her presence here is a bad omen for us. The last hope before the inevitable end.
I have to say, at first I didn't like her model, because it looked a bit too uncanny, but now I like it, mostly because of IRyS herself, she's one of my most favorite Vtubers from Hololive and in general. Also She can be from pretty intensive to scarRyS, I like her clips, where she scares other members either by accident (Kronii) or intentionally (Ollie, Anya, and others) Alsoalso her conflict with Santa
I agree that the art style of her model does feel somewhat distinct from the others in Hololive, but its design certainly has grown on me and it actually fits very well with the personality she brings.
That was my problem at first as well. Mainly in the face department. Everything else was fine but the face felt abit uncanny valley but its really grown on me.
His style is very distinct... semi-realistic. I dunno how Europa and Inori turned out incredibly beautiful and cute, respectively. Maybe it's because they had softer facial features and less striking colors.
When talking about iRyS i was thinking about Renai Circulation :). IMO, iRyS antiques is so endearing during stream and collabs that i sometimes forgot that her main content is music not comedy/let's play despite her music is really good. She just naturally entertaining.
Hopefully we get AZKi next pair the VSingers up nicely. IRyS is such a great addition to the EN branch. Her interactions with everyone in Myth and Council are always entertaining and her singing is incredible. Can't wait to see her kimono reveal soon too

Azki joining Hololive will open up more opportunities to stream as remember, she was just under a music label until the switch in (I think April) but she has stated that her content won't change much I'm sure if they want to, they will collab eventually. It'd be cool, the only Virtual Diva and the only Vsinger in hololive collab since remember, The only person in Hololive with the title VSinger is actually IRyS. (And also remember that her contract was for both, so she is both a vtuber and a vsinger)
Irys was a big surprise to me in that I wasn't expecting a new arrival to have so much of an impact. Her gaming skills are pretty impressive when it comes to FPS and she's one of the top APEX players in hololive which kind of made her V-Singer label misleading. The first time I really saw her was that confrontation of Ollie on the minecraft en server where she ate rotten flesh to assert dominance... one of the most entertaining interactions ever! Such a shame the stream had technical difficulties towards the end but still... that will stay firmly in my memory as the best live thing I have ever been fortunate enough to witness. While I am a KFP stan Irys really pushed her way to the top of my oshi list. Great addition to the V-Tuber world.

Love these discovery videos but the one thing I would have liked to have seen for IRyS is some of her scary moments. "Hope is descending and coming for you." Kronii witnessing her beating up her dogs in minecraft. She is good at seeming unhinged while still acting seiso.
By the way, the "Chadcast" (podcast with Calli, Bae and Irys as mentioned) is officially happening this week. It was delayed one week due to Irys' throat condition.
Ah man its been a good while since I've seen one of these. I've been loving Irys since she debuted. Not only does her schedule fit really well with mine so I can consistently watch her which is nice, but shes legitimately funny and fun to watch. Glad to see her covered here! Can't wait to check out the backlog of discovers episodes I missed as well!
wow the first discover on someone i've been following since the start xD. Yea i didn't fall in the whole till after Myth had just debuted God IRyS is great. She's a brilliant singer but just as great of streamer to. She is SUCH a good entertainer. Really good at reading chat and knowing just how to make every stream a blast. While she is the only one part of Project Hope (It is a generation remember) She fits perfectly within Myth and Council. The 6th member when needed xD One of the things that impresses me the most wit her is her ability to collab with anyone. You see that with her collabs with Haachama to Sora to Bae. She just has this ability to read the room well and create magic. I also love how the last clip actually proves they are great comedians xD. Oh and one more thing Chadcast podcast with IRyS, Bae and Calli starts this sunday at 4 AM PST XD
IryS is a Vsinger from Hololive, her main role is Project Hope. Her illustrator is RedJuice, who is an amazing artist; and has done numerous projects. Personality wise, she’s a sweet and gentle girl, with a lovely voice, great sense of humor, and she does have a little demon side that comes out every now and again when chat teases her. Her normal speaking voice has a nice and calm tone, whilst her singing voice is very strong but clear. P.S.- FGO’s Attila the Hun’s illustrator is Huke; the same illustrator for Hololive’s Myth’s Takanashi Kiara. Both RedJuice and Huke have done a few FGO character designs.
This is the first episode where I actually had trouble hearing the clips, like Nagzz was 10% louder than normal or something. But solid content as always!
The salty Mario Kart clips are fun to look back on. She’s actually really good at the game, especially when she focuses, such as during the big tournaments the girls hold. I think she placed second in the EN/ID tournament not long after her debut and in the most recent company wide tournament she placed fourth in her bracket (which was probably the second most competitive), just barely missing placement in the finals by a few points. She’s actually a pretty solid and competitive gamer overall from what I’ve observed, contrary to what one might expect from a talent introduced as a vsinger.
Would you ever consider doing timer based reactions with the songs to avoid copyright? The viewers could open another device and sync up your reaction with a timer on screen.
Even if not this, it'd be cool if you reacted off-screen to one or two songs when music is relevant to the talent and discussed it briefly afterward for the video.
I feel like the majority of viewers wouldn't bother opening another video and look negatively on that segment. Some would probably stop watching altogether.

As far as I know reactions to Hololive songs don't get struck by copyright anyway, especially not originals. The only ones that have issues are songs done for outside record labels like Suisei's song 3:12 with Taku Inoe and songs made for Hololive's concert like Bloom. He would be fine reacting to covers too.
I know you where probably trying to not fill up on so much Minecraft, but there where two other iconic moments that would have been great clips to share. 1. Ollie was messing around in the EN server and was later joined by IRyS. Their interaction was amazing and is where the "Hope has descended and is coming for you" meme came from. 2. One of the first interactions between IRyS and Kronii in Minecraft was essentially a horror movie where Kronii was being chased by IRyS.
About the whole 3D being delayed thing, you should listen to the holomyth song journey of a thousand years. It’s a pretty good song talking about how they wanna meet so badly. As for IRyS, she’s great. Her streams are funny and she has a very sweet personality. Most of the time.
Corrections: IRyS is, officially, a vsinger. Huke (Kiara's papa) is the artist of Altera (historical Attila the Hun). Redjuice's FGO children are Odysseus and Europa. Attila was born north of the Danube so Central Europe. The Huns came from Central Asia (still far from Mongolia, though, so NothingButA_Fan could be thinking of Gengis Khan) and moved westward to Europe. HoloX is pronounced "holoks".
You're half right on the vsinger part IRyS's contract is for both a Vsinger and a Vtuber. She has stated that multiple times and if you look back on the audition, they specifically stated it was for both
some of the clips where abit bad picks, there are same clips where japanese was spoken with english subs added. But most of those clips where not preplanned and you had to find them in a hurry so i guess that makes it ok.. The trangents went abit long this episode, and i feel theres not enough touched on how incredibly well Irys always make conversations flow with no matter who she collabs with. her collabs with JP senpais are also incredible.. imo going smoother then when calli and kiara does collabs with jp senpais.

Gura is a memelord, calli is an awkward girl who is confident at rapping, Kiara is a ball of energy, kronii is a bit of a narcissist. I never figured IRyS out

I love how we got Pewdiepie dabbing Swedish at us mortals out of nowhere in the middle of watching a clip. Btw, ”Skrattar du, förlorar du” is Swedish for ”You laugh, you lose”. Please don’t ask me about why the Swedish word order is different to the English one in this sentence, but not in other sentences. It’s a whole other rabbit hole and my brain isn’t big enough for it at this time.

The barrier between Vsinger and Vtuber is really getting quite confusing, to say the least. IRyS sings, and she's great at it, but so do all the Vtuber girls, and she also does regular streams like them too. She's not part of INNK Music as far as I know, and since Suisei and AZKi have left/are leaving INNK to get reinserted inside of the Hololive part of Cover Corp, IRyS is pretty much the only Vsinger left in this company. She's not part of any gen, and she has that particular title, yet her content is the same as her fellow talents (although with maybe more of an emphasis on songs, but that cursor varies across the different talents, some of them sing alot and some of them don't, so it's not really a criteria to be Vsinger). I think I've seen a clip or two where IRyS expresses how complicated it can be sometimes to position herself in Hololive, and how she doesn't really know where she belongs, and that's a sentiment that was shared by other members with no gen before, like Sora, Suisei, Roboco, and Miko as well. That's why the fans created Gen 0, and since it seems like the official Hololive website now lists Gen 0 as a thing, showing that fan associations can become canon, I think we should start counting IRyS as Gen 0 too. Interestingly enough, with AZKi soon to leave INNK to join Hololive, Gen 0 could really become the home of all the singer talents turned Vtubers, making it a gen with as much of a unifying theme as regular gens like Fantasy or HoloX. TLDR : Give IRyS a home with her singing senpais, IRyS for Gen 0.
Yeah it's kinda heart wrenching to see IRyS talk about that especially when I hear both Calli and Bae talk about how while they don't talk for the entire group but it's kinda like an unspoken rule in the groups that Myth includes IRyS with Myth while Council includes her with them. And from how it seems from a lot of the chat interaction the fans seem to really view her as the bridge between Myth and Council as she falls into being both a mythological being and a concept.
Suisei said viewers should expect AZKi to operate the same way she's been operating already, so she may still be music focused and stream very little, I would't discard her tittle of VSinger just yet.

She has stated that being the only Vsinger can bring mixed feelings and maybe it would be better to be called a vtuber but outside of that, Nothing. Plus technically, she was the only vsinger in hololive. Azki's title was vitural diva. So if people want to call Azki a vsinger, then we should just call 90% of them vsingers as well. (Which im totally fine with btw) IRyS is as and was only person with that title. No one else has had that title. Plus and this is a big thing a lot of people forget. IRyS is both a Vsinger and a Vtuber. The audition was for both and she has stated that her contract was for both multiple times. Secondly, SHE HAS A FREAKING HOME AND IT'S IN EN! Sorry but this idea that IRyS has no home is just asinine, Myth and Council have welcomed her with open arms, especially council. They all treat IRyS as the sixth member of their group and as a comment in this thread points out, Lore wise she fits into both. Add on that gen 0 is only a JP thing and adding IRyS is more or less saying she doesn't have a home in EN which is just.......wrong. and don't forget when it comes to the no generation part, Project Hope is a generation. So it very well may be that cover may want to add to that in the future. When it comes down to it, IRyS has a home. She is part of EN. Myth and Council have welcomed her with open arms and she is accepted as an EN member by not only them but the fans as well AS to The reason she has the title Vsinger, It is so she can get music out at a faster rate. I mean she released 2 ep's in six months with 4 covers and another OG sprinkled in between. That is an insane amount in such a short time. Now that is because, Cover covers the OG songs she does which they don't do for others, they only give others a budget and if they go over it, they have to cover the rest themselves. Though with that title, she has less control in the song making process while others can go crazy. Maybe the reason she is the first person with that title is cover just came up with it for her and are planning to get more in as the years go on.

She might be a native speaker, Pekora reacting like that mean she spoke in a manner only Japanese born on Japanese ground would speak normaly. A way of speaking most outsiders wouldn't understand and get how to use, if you want.

I meant she made Pekora forget she wasn't born in Japan. Don't get me wrong, Japan acceppt with open arms Japanese people born outside of Japan who chose their Japanese nationalty over the other one, but it will still be harder for them to settle there than someone born in Japan.
Japanese are way more judgemental toward them than those born in Japan because Japaneses have a way of life very distinct from anywere else in the world. Anyone born outside of Japan will make mistakes that might not be dramatic, but will show how difficult it is to really adapt to that life style. Making a Japanese person born in Japan forget for a moment you weren't born in Japan is a feat in and off itself, something IRyS achieved with Pekora. By the way, those mistakes are also in the way they will speak, especialy if they speak in a formal way. When I said her Japanese is at the level of a native speaker, that's what I meant, she is that good even at formal speaking, something even some people born in Japan struggle to achieve these days. She is that good at japanese, better than some people who lived there their whole lives. She obviously makes mistakes now and again, but not often enough to help people remember she was born outside of Japan.

And yeah, unfortunately, the term "native-speaker" can be a bit ambiguous and isn't very helpful in a world where immigration is much more common. In linguistics, it can be a bit of a controversial term since it used to mean exactly what you thought: speaking the language of one's birthplace. However, that often isn't the case anymore since a lot of people grow up speaking multiple languages fluently. Nowadays, "native language" is synonymous with "mother tongue" or the language one inherited from/was raised with by their parents. When using Spanish, I don't need to translate or actively get into Spanish mode. It's completely automatic and subconscious. However, when I try to speak French, even for the slightest instant, there is some active thought I need to put into it to communicate. For any language learned after childhood, as fluency increases, the need for active effort decreases continually but never completely goes away. This is kinda like Kiara with her Japanese, or you might notice this when speaking English.

I have completely fallen for IRyS since she debuted. She's so much fun, and so great in collabs. She just radiates charisma. Her "divorce" with Bae has been a ongoing highlight recently. Bae's minecraft stream with Mio being the highlight of that.

A funny thing about how big of a deal that was made of IRyS "descending" in her debut and her first MV that has her jumping from Toyko Tower, apparently she's actually really scared of heights and claims that, though she can fly as a half-angel, she prefers to fly only a few feet off the ground.
Also, she scuffed her debut stream just a bit at the beginning; she tried to lower herself down from the top of the screen i.e. "descending", but she left herself muted and couldn't unmute, so she floated down, started talking without saying anything, then panicked and went back to her intermission screen. She then tried again and had the same thing happen, and then finally nailed it on the third take, so she technically "descended" three times, which her chat still teases her about to this day.

One thing that is extremely typical of IRyS, that wasnt really covered, is her unparalleled ability to *unintentionally* say stuff out of context or that can easily get misunderstood as innuendo, probably because her english isnt at native level.
For this reason one of her most popular fan nicknames has become YabaIRyS, and she is usually not even aware that she said something weird until chat starts going supersonic, and it is both very cute and fun. I’d recommend Naggz to look up a few clips of that, as there should be more than plenty
Part of her lore is still secret, we know as much. One theory (partially originating in Ollie's lyrics analysis stream of IRyS' "Cesura of Despair") assumes that IRyS innate duality as a angel/devil hybrid makes her not only the symbol of hope, but also of despair. With Omegaα implied to be the representation of the end and new beginnings (enemy of Council, aka reality as it currently is; "omega", the last Greek letter representing the end, leading into "alpha", the first Greek letter representing the beginning), her songs lyrics hinting at cyclical destruction and recreation and the Council lore videos confirming her to be older than the universe, she may be the arbiter of the death & rebirth of reality itself.
... which would mean her presence here is a bad omen for us. The last hope before the inevitable end.

I have to say, at first I didn't like her model, because it looked a bit too uncanny, but now I like it, mostly because of IRyS herself, she's one of my most favorite Vtubers from Hololive and in general.
Also She can be from pretty intensive to scarRyS, I like her clips, where she scares other members either by accident (Kronii) or intentionally (Ollie, Anya, and others)

I agree that the art style of her model does feel somewhat distinct from the others in Hololive, but its design certainly has grown on me and it actually fits very well with the personality she brings.
That was my problem at first as well. Mainly in the face department. Everything else was fine but the face felt abit uncanny valley but its really grown on me.

Redjuice was one of the first deviantartists that i came to know. I bought a couple Vocaloid CDs with his art over 10 years ago.
His style is very distinct... semi-realistic. I dunno how Europa and Inori turned out incredibly beautiful and cute, respectively. Maybe it's because they had softer facial features and less striking colors.
When talking about iRyS i was thinking about Renai Circulation :). IMO, iRyS antiques is so endearing during stream and collabs that i sometimes forgot that her main content is music not comedy/let's play despite her music is really good. She just naturally entertaining.
Hopefully we get AZKi next pair the VSingers up nicely. IRyS is such a great addition to the EN branch. Her interactions with everyone in Myth and Council are always entertaining and her singing is incredible. Can't wait to see her kimono reveal soon too

It'd be cool, the only Virtual Diva and the only Vsinger in hololive collab since remember, The only person in Hololive with the title VSinger is actually IRyS. (And also remember that her contract was for both, so she is both a vtuber and a vsinger)
Irys was a big surprise to me in that I wasn't expecting a new arrival to have so much of an impact. Her gaming skills are pretty impressive when it comes to FPS and she's one of the top APEX players in hololive which kind of made her V-Singer label misleading. The first time I really saw her was that confrontation of Ollie on the minecraft en server where she ate rotten flesh to assert dominance... one of the most entertaining interactions ever! Such a shame the stream had technical difficulties towards the end but still... that will stay firmly in my memory as the best live thing I have ever been fortunate enough to witness. While I am a KFP stan Irys really pushed her way to the top of my oshi list. Great addition to the V-Tuber world.

Not only does her schedule fit really well with mine so I can consistently watch her which is nice, but shes legitimately funny and fun to watch. Glad to see her covered here! God IRyS is great. She's a brilliant singer but just as great of streamer to. She is SUCH a good entertainer. Really good at reading chat and knowing just how to make every stream a blast. While she is the only one part of Project Hope (It is a generation remember) She fits perfectly within Myth and Council. The 6th member when needed xD
One of the things that impresses me the most wit her is her ability to collab with anyone. You see that with her collabs with Haachama to Sora to Bae. She just has this ability to read the room well and create magic. I also love how the last clip actually proves they are great comedians xD.

IRyS/YabIrys is one of my favorite recent VTuber/Vsinger! So glad y’all covered her!

IryS is a Vsinger from Hololive, her main role is Project Hope. Her illustrator is RedJuice, who is an amazing artist; and has done numerous projects. Personality wise, she’s a sweet and gentle girl, with a lovely voice, great sense of humor, and she does have a little demon side that comes out every now and again when chat teases her. Her normal speaking voice has a nice and calm tone, whilst her singing voice is very strong but clear. P.S.- FGO’s Attila the Hun’s illustrator is Huke; the same illustrator for Hololive’s Myth’s Takanashi Kiara. Both RedJuice and Huke have done a few FGO character designs.
Aww I kinda hoped to see the clips where irys terrifies kroni on their first collab or kroni and irys being hunted by gura was pretty good too

The salty Mario Kart clips are fun to look back on. She’s actually really good at the game, especially when she focuses, such as during the big tournaments the girls hold. I think she placed second in the EN/ID tournament not long after her debut and in the most recent company wide tournament she placed fourth in her bracket (which was probably the second most competitive), just barely missing placement in the finals by a few points.
She’s actually a pretty solid and competitive gamer overall from what I’ve observed, contrary to what one might expect from a talent introduced as a vsinger.
She might debut her own 3D earlier than Myth because she'd need it to perform as a Vsinger
Would you ever consider doing timer based reactions with the songs to avoid copyright? The viewers could open another device and sync up your reaction with a timer on screen.
Even if not this, it'd be cool if you reacted off-screen to one or two songs when music is relevant to the talent and discussed it briefly afterward for the video.
I feel like the majority of viewers wouldn't bother opening another video and look negatively on that segment. Some would probably stop watching altogether.

As far as I know reactions to Hololive songs don't get struck by copyright anyway, especially not originals. The only ones that have issues are songs done for outside record labels like Suisei's song 3:12 with Taku Inoe and songs made for Hololive's concert like Bloom. He would be fine reacting to covers too.

I know you where probably trying to not fill up on so much Minecraft, but there where two other iconic moments that would have been great clips to share.
1. Ollie was messing around in the EN server and was later joined by IRyS. Their interaction was amazing and is where the "Hope has descended and is coming for you" meme came from.
2. One of the first interactions between IRyS and Kronii in Minecraft was essentially a horror movie where Kronii was being chased by IRyS.

The barrier between Vsinger and Vtuber is really getting quite confusing, to say the least.
IRyS sings, and she's great at it, but so do all the Vtuber girls, and she also does regular streams like them too. She's not part of INNK Music as far as I know, and since Suisei and AZKi have left/are leaving INNK to get reinserted inside of the Hololive part of Cover Corp, IRyS is pretty much the only Vsinger left in this company. She's not part of any gen, and she has that particular title, yet her content is the same as her fellow talents (although with maybe more of an emphasis on songs, but that cursor varies across the different talents, some of them sing alot and some of them don't, so it's not really a criteria to be Vsinger).
I think I've seen a clip or two where IRyS expresses how complicated it can be sometimes to position herself in Hololive, and how she doesn't really know where she belongs, and that's a sentiment that was shared by other members with no gen before, like Sora, Suisei, Roboco, and Miko as well. That's why the fans created Gen 0, and since it seems like the official Hololive website now lists Gen 0 as a thing, showing that fan associations can become canon, I think we should start counting IRyS as Gen 0 too. Interestingly enough, with AZKi soon to leave INNK to join Hololive, Gen 0 could really become the home of all the singer talents turned Vtubers, making it a gen with as much of a unifying theme as regular gens like Fantasy or HoloX.
TLDR : Give IRyS a home with her singing senpais, IRyS for Gen 0.
Yeah it's kinda heart wrenching to see IRyS talk about that especially when I hear both Calli and Bae talk about how while they don't talk for the entire group but it's kinda like an unspoken rule in the groups that Myth includes IRyS with Myth while Council includes her with them. And from how it seems from a lot of the chat interaction the fans seem to really view her as the bridge between Myth and Council as she falls into being both a mythological being and a concept.
Suisei said viewers should expect AZKi to operate the same way she's been operating already, so she may still be music focused and stream very little, I would't discard her tittle of VSinger just yet.
Ok a few things. One, idk what clips you watched but IRyS has never said she doesn't know where she belongs. She has stated that being the only Vsinger can bring mixed feelings and maybe it would be better to be called a vtuber but outside of that, Nothing. Plus technically, she was the only vsinger in hololive. Azki's title was vitural diva. So if people want to call Azki a vsinger, then we should just call 90% of them vsingers as well. (Which im totally fine with btw) IRyS is as and was only person with that title. No one else has had that title. Plus and this is a big thing a lot of people forget. IRyS is both a Vsinger and a Vtuber. The audition was for both and she has stated that her contract was for both multiple times.
Secondly, SHE HAS A FREAKING HOME AND IT'S IN EN! Sorry but this idea that IRyS has no home is just asinine, Myth and Council have welcomed her with open arms, especially council. They all treat IRyS as the sixth member of their group and as a comment in this thread points out, Lore wise she fits into both. Add on that gen 0 is only a JP thing and adding IRyS is more or less saying she doesn't have a home in EN which is just.......wrong. and don't forget when it comes to the no generation part, Project Hope is a generation. So it very well may be that cover may want to add to that in the future.
When it comes down to it, IRyS has a home. She is part of EN. Myth and Council have welcomed her with open arms and she is accepted as an EN member by not only them but the fans as well
AS to The reason she has the title Vsinger, It is so she can get music out at a faster rate. I mean she released 2 ep's in six months with 4 covers and another OG sprinkled in between. That is an insane amount in such a short time.
Now that is because, Cover covers the OG songs she does which they don't do for others, they only give others a budget and if they go over it, they have to cover the rest themselves. Though with that title, she has less control in the song making process while others can go crazy. Maybe the reason she is the first person with that title is cover just came up with it for her and are planning to get more in as the years go on.
