good finds!! found my first big bunch of scarlets the other day in wales... Still yet to eat them tho.. as I left them in the fridge forgetten and rotten eeek. criminal. Keep up the videos! loving it! Inspired me to wild camp tonight.. so thanks!
lol I did exactly the same when I first picked Elf Cups! I guess they don't have too much going for them apart from their looks! Great to hear you are off for a camp, I can't wait to get out again. It's that time of year :)
@Jay Away the certainly do well on people's Instagram lol... the wild camp was epic... camped right in the middle of a small clearing in some dense pine... owls hooting, the moonlight coming thru... a nice reminder of how good it is to get out there. Need to invest in a better air bed thing tho... currently making do with one over 25 years old...eek.

@Jay Away I began to record... but then just felt like I should enjoy this one solo and not worry about recording... Next time... I'm potentially going to make Thursday nights regular camp nights out so plenty more camp video and potentially shroom cook up vids to come in the woods lol
@@jayaway1361 kind of like cinnabar chanterelles…small and insignificant but great color!👍. I’ll be heading to a spot tomorrow hopefully for some velvet foot…great winter mushroom. Need to get me one of those fireboxes too!😊

Thanks Heidi, that's awesome! I'm pleased you are enjoying it. Bre is a little mixed breed we rescued. Her mother and father were Spanish street dogs so she has numerous breeds in her DNA.

Wood ear is quite a unique texture so doesn't always work the same as other mushrooms. Great in some Asian cuisine. Soups, stir fries, stocks. I guess just have a play around and see what you can come up with. Some people have rehydrated them in spirits like vodka, rum, amaretto etc and dipped them in chocolate! :)
