Madness, Ive recently become a subscriber, just watching this video and at 5:14 into the video & up pops an old mate Frank Tully. Its a very small world!
Oh Derek Swildons one of my favourite caves. We would visit it in the evenings as day time it got so crowded. So many round trips by passing the sumps great sporting cave. I’ll tell you a story. One trip we had passed into Swildons 4 on round trip.. One of my friends who was in front came RUNNING back down the streamway shouting there’s a skeleton there’s a Skelton. When we got there somebody had arranged some animal bones to look like a human..Scared the hell out of him. Well that’s Cavers humour. I enjoy your videos keep it up. My next trip is Ogof Ffynnon Ddu mid Xmas break.
Goatchurch Cavern is probably a closer equivalent in the UK to what Pettyjohns or Buckners is in the US. These caves are incubators for great cavers. Without caves like these many of us, me included, might never have become involved in caving.
@@DerekBristol There were also a lot of bones dug out in the Victorian era. I understand that the surface level is now a couple of metres lower than before the archaeoloical digs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aveline%27s_Hole
Lionels hole ** don’t like jagged rock East twin *** Damp and dirty Pierres Pot **** Good Fun Sidcot Swallet **** claustrophobic Goat church ***** best burrington cave Avelines Hole * - rubbish lots of it Swildons - Amazing cave really is
That's what caving is all about. Good fun with your mates and a beer at the end.
Yep. Life is good!
The short sump at 7:40 is notable as the birthplace of cave diving in the 1930s.
Wow some of those caves are very narrow, and the last few were the best with the water flowing 😊

Thanks. Loved OFD as well.
Wow! East Twin look different with water! I've just saw it today! And the boulder on top of Sidcot at the entrance look dodgey now a days.
Great video. 👍
That first one reminded me of climbing around in Pettijohns Cave near Lafayette, Ga.

Ive been to Pettyjohns more times than I can count, I have a good idea what you are talking about.
And not all that far from your "surname" town of Bristol LOL. There are some nice little caves there.
What are they preserving and observering in the archeology site ?
Mesolithic engraving... or so I'm told.

The boulder at the entrance of Sidcot is unstable be careful!
Bravo !!!
The last one looks very nice! Would love to go to the UK and spend some time under the ground
Swildon's is amazing!
@2:35 genuinely shocking how that cave is full of landfill shite.
It's most likely kit for the people that are digging in there
its not shite its equipment they use for digging lol
Hahaa - well deserved beer in hunters ;-)
maybe someday i would join those kind of people, hide from busy noisy life, what an exciting activity
Go for it! Find your local cave club/grotto! Most fun you'll ever have
How much $ for such a ( rainsuit)
The cave suits are between £80 and £130 (which is something like $105 to $170)
Caving oversuits range from ~$150-200 USD.
@@DerekBristol Thanks for reply i believe it is affordable😀👍
Great video! But the music put me off. I much prefer to hear the natural ambient sounds with nothing overlaid.
Bello!
