    Barclay's Bank and the Lyolds Bank in the UK got huge compensations from Slaves who drowned in the seas.
    Some were intentionally drowned so that they could claim large sums of money( insurance) back home in the UK.
    He should tell every White person who comes there that if their mortgage is with Lyolds or Barclays Bank, they are dealing with one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Slave trade.

I've been following you, since your return to Ghana from Australia, and was so inspired I sold my home in the states, pack our bags, and now I am here in Ghana with my husband and 4 year old twin boys. I came in February for a two week visit...I thought about contacting you, but I didn't want to seem creepy. Lol I started a TH-cam about Ghana and received an unexpected, amazing, and loving response

    The sickening societal sickness of slavery, but through really sick art!
    Some of those statues had a real sting, but that cute dress of yours kinda adds a charming angle to the art, which is that they were not just victims of barbarians, but also people with plenty of style (some quite savage)

    Beautiful video 😍. I personally think it is about time we as Africans connect to histories that connects to our very root and erase all histories connecting to slavery. Slavery should never define us to world. It was an unfortunate event that happened, yes but, we sure have more better histories that can define our value and existence in this modern world.

    • @ms.yvonnem4945
      @ms.yvonnem4945 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      African people have a beautiful history and culture that goes far beyond slavery and it should be taught. But, to erase all history connecting to slavery is not the right thing to do. African people need to learn history and slavery is a traumatic, sad part of that.

    Thank you Jasmine ! What’s the name of this place again and where exactly is it in Ghana ? The Slave Castle, can you give us any information about it and how it was destroyed ? The young Man, who have created this place, what is his name ? I want to thank him. We must never ever forget, what our Ancestors went through, this place should be seen by everyone. My eyes, absorbing the brilliant display of Art, heartbreaking, but necessary to show and see, beautiful, yet sad, knowing this is how my Ancestors arrived in America, shackled, stacked like sardines, treated worst then Animals. So many of us survived, but, without knowing, where we came from, who we are. Seeing Africa, through your lens and other Videos postings from different parts of Africa, in my spirit, it feels like home. From the people I see and the Earth they stand on, I see familiar faces, of Family, Grandmothers and Grandfathers, Sisters, Brothers, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles. The resemblance of faces is as if I know them. I paid for DNA test, to find out and hunt down, where I came from, something I feel the United States should be doing for free, for every African American, whose Ancestors were force here to be Slaves. I appreciate and look forward to all your Videos. Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! You do such a good job, with your presentation of your Videos. Sure, we can watch documentaries, but I like these type of Videos of Africa today, in real time, up close and personal.

    As a descendant of enslaved Africans it pains my heart each time I witness something like this. I am very happy to know that Ghanaians are aware of our history. Our ancestors endured unimaginable horror, especially during the sojourn in the middle passage. To have survived that and then to endure a lifetime of unspeakable horror is a testament of their strength and will to survive. The Zong massacre 1781 and the book In Miserable Slavery by Douglas Hall which is based on the detailed diary kept by English enslavers Thomas Thistlewood will give some insight into the horrors our oppressors endured. Another great video. 🇯🇲

    This was a great subject to cover and share with us. However, I won't lie, it was hard to watch the disrespect of someone putting their feet in the water that represents our ancestors who were thrown overboard like garbage. Love your work as always. You look beautiful.

      Did you catch that - I thought the same thing like - HOW RUDE - But it is the result of their forefathers, for all we know they were mentally enjoying and amused by this solemn creative display of our trauma

      Africa Is Like O: I thought I was the only one who feels that those women were very disrespectful. They have no remorse what their ancestors did.. Imagine going to the Jewish Holocaust Museum and do something like that. Only in Africa!

    Thank you for sharing - EJI - Equal Justice Initiative is a very intense Legal organization in the US that fights to have false charges & extreme sentences overturned or rescinded in US courts for mostly black/brown people often falsely convicted - I didnt know some of their sculptures came from here - Thank you for sharing this was soooo intriguing for me

    Many thanks for this tear jerker. As l said before, there is a lot that the ministry of tourism can do to publicise and market tourism than they do now. They are a complete waste in the economy. I will link up with the guy and help the efforts going on there .
    Ada is actually a district in the Greater Accra region, not a region by itself.
