As an outsider who loves paintball, I don't really think this sport is going to get much traction. It's s very chaotic too watch in it's current form and it's VERY expensive to practice as a sport (At least in Europe). However, it sure is a blast to do.

depends, don't buy cheap gear though. Buy the most expensive you can afford, it will be worth it in the long run.
Go on facebook to paintball buy/sell/ trades and buy a used marker. As well as gear. The cheapest route.
