The worst part is, this is only the tip of the iceberg for these triads. Before triads were seen as unsung heroes and vigilantes in Hong Kong, almost legendary. This is one of the cases that shows their true colours.
They sponser and threaten many movie makers to portray triads as heros and cops as corrupted villians. All that is put to stop when Hong Kong return to China.

This is one of those instances in which I wonder it's ok to leave these people alive? It's not best for society to just execute them? They're unlikely to redeem themselves and to me keeping them imprisoned is just a waste of the resources that could actually be used to improve life in orphanages and trying to avoid this all along. Then I remember that most politicians don't really want to fix society...
I think giving these men execution would be a blessing to them
Prison is meant to rot you away until there's nothing left. Many left with a turnover life from crime, Some rot in there to die or rule over the correctional facility under shadows. Prisons are a double edged sword but execution is not supposed painful in any way since today, "they need to be humane" when death row prisoners are some of the worst people ever to ordain the title of human but sure whatever
@@X-SPONGED I agree, they could suffer more in prison, or could not if as you say, they're ruling it on the shadows.
I'm just thinking, prison allows to give justice to the victims families, also avoid doing something irreversible to the prisoners, but when you know that they're in fact guilty of horrendous crimes, keeping them alive gives the risk they could always escape or be released, just to commit new atrocities, so I wonder, in these kind of cases, when you don't have any doubts that the prisoners are in fact guilty and you now that they're beyond recovery, is really worth it? I know that a lot of families would feel safer if you just execute them and if the execution process could be made a lot quicker for those cases (few years instead of few decades), the government could actually save a lot of money that's just thrown away in keeping those prisoners alive.

After reading true crime stories for more than a decade, this one sticks with me.
I don't know if it is the fact that the mother was clearly trying to make a living to support her child, or if her death feels unfair after absorbing all of the details.
I often reflect on what her life might have been like if she lived to see the year 2000, and where he son could be at the moment. And also what memories her and her son could have made together if her life wasn't taken.
The most overwhelming feeling throughout this story is knowing that humans are capable of doing this to each other

you can't bypass legal technicalities not how it works at all, for the charges they got only life with parole could be given, although they have every right to, and almost definitely will deny the parole for the rest of their lvies.

life with parole in 20 years is not the same thing as a 20 year sentence.... parole is completely up to the reviewers which will almost definitely deny parole for the rest of their lives, also legal technicalities can't just be bypassed just because someone feels like a crime is heinous enough, there is a limit to how much someone can get punished for a certain crime.

Haunting case indeed…. Another haunting and chilling one that makes you wonder how can people be capable of doing such horrible things to a helpless person is the tragic case of Junko Furuta… a heartbreaking case from Japan in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Do be warned though, it’s not an easy case as it also involves prolonged torture :/
Junko Furuta was just a teenager. She was just innocent and didn't do anything wrong. Then got tortured for 40 plus days just because she rejected a guy.
Junko Furuta case is shocking to anyone reading it. Even today when we are all numbed by over-exposure to violence, her case is still unbearable. She was tortured so badly, she was rotting alive in her last days.

I agree that what they did to her is sick beyond belief. But it's sick because we know it shouldn't happen to people for any reason. So inflicting the same torture on these guys isn't justice, it's just more sickness.
Either we have a sane civilized society or we have state sanctioned barbarity masquerading as justice. We can't have both.
I wouldn't wish such brutality on anyone, even inflictors of such brutality. The fact that no one deserves this is the very point.

Props to the narrator for trying to the best of his ability to pronounce the Cantonese names. I don't speak the language but I know a lot of people who do and have been learning Mandarin for years and always cringe at how some American/Western TH-camrs pronounce Chinese names, or pretty much most Asian names not familiar to them or that are not anime related Japanese names (even Japanese names are a struggle for some...). Cantonese names are especially difficult for English speakers to get but he really did good.

I have heard of this story while looking up hello kitty at age 9. Lets just say that's what got me into creepy and horrific stuff.

One of the killers who has been paroled was sentenced again. On 15 August 2022, he was found guilty of inappropriate touching a 10-year old and was sentenced for a year.
Andd now hes out again.

I’m from Hong Kong, love this video. You should also do the case of 人肉叉燒包 (guy killed a family and put human flesh into his buns) from Macau, it has haunted us for a long time.

@@Jason.cbr1000rr schools. In China Mainland English isn't considered important at lower ranked schools, while Hong Kong schools provide English lesson no matter the ranks. That's what I heard at least because I only experienced the Hong Kong school system.

i read the same story about hello kitty murderer, but not this story. About the taxi driver who killed female passengers and then stuffed their limbs in the blood-soaked hello kitty.
I first heard about this from watching Bones . Then i did some research and learnt more about the case . Its terrible ... What they did to her was terrible .

I know this might seem like a strange comment but the sheer terror that 13yo girl must have felt to be in the presence of those monsters, seeing this torture and being so scared that she went to the cops. How many anonymous others are already killed by them, how many are now alive because they are locked up? I know i may seem heartless to the victim but i don't believe a 13yo had any power to resist 3 psychopaths and clearly she had some type of breakdown after. No horror film could match this terror.
