YES!! Perfect should go out the window!!! 💪🏽 It has prevented me from getting TOO MANY things done. 😡 Well done!! 🙌🏻It is lovely and I LOVE the colors!!🥰
Thank you throwing out perfect. I have recently completed a spanish lady custume that has taken over 10 years because i was waiting for "perfect". It feels so good to have it done that i am also throwing perfect out. I will now be using random muslin to make my dream chemise dress which is also how i found your channel.
It's wonderful to have you here! 😊 Ugh, I hung on to perfect for so long, it was really hard to let go of it, well, it's an ongoing process, but there is an immense amount of freedom that has come with beginning to let go of it.
The dress turned out beautifully. Though I think you're right that it will look better with a full undershirt. Perfection is a big problem for a lot of us. I have lovely fabric waiting for the perfect pattern. It was a thrift find so it's not like I can get more if I muck it up. It's been waiting for almost 20 years! Between looking for the perfect pattern and my lack of drive making things for myself it just hadn't gotten done. Oh and life has that nasty habit of getting in the way of plans! Congratulations defeating perfection and getting it done!! I'm quiet sure that no matter what we make there will be things that you will wish you had done differently. I've started to write these things down in a sewing\craft journal for future reference. Whether I will use it in the future is another question but for now it lets me pretend I'm organised and on top of things!
Yes, indeed, perfectionism and life are 😤🙄😞 Keeping a journal is an excellent plan. Writing stuff down does help me. I keep my ideas in a spiral bound notebook… but then I lose the notebook 😏🙃
@@adifferentsortofduck Yes I lose the notes as well but I’m trying to pretend I’m organized! It’s an uphill battle but I’m trying different things so that I don’t lose things. Occasionally I find old notes that no longer make an sense everything that was so obvious when I wrote it aren’t anymore. So I’m also trying to remember to put in references to the obvious in hopes that it will make sense in the future! Too many ideas and thoughts about sewing floating around my brain!
This is amazing! As someone who also sews and has seen a million sewing tutorial videos, I'm literally blown away by how entertaining yours are. Never seen one come even CLOSE to being as fun as all your vids are! 😊🎉
Great job on the dress and it 100% looks less customey with the beautifully finished off edges!! also thank you for the inspiration, I'm trying to get into sewing and dug up a bunch of my mom's old patterns but it is quite intimidating, I've only managed to make a bastardized scrunchie so far lol Hoping to make a circle skirt soon c:
Nice! Sewing is amazing, but it is a journey. Probably the most important thing I’ve learned on my journey is to be kind to myself through it all. I had to admit that it is indeed difficult, and I should give myself credit for conquering any part of any project. Scrunchies aren’t easy. You began, so you are doing awesome. 🧡
@@adifferentsortofduck Thank you so much for the advice, it means a lot. I'm definitely not the best at being easy on myself, but I'll try 💛 Already saved two of your videos to attempt at some point and I'm really excited about those C:
Very nice result! People tend to put things off waiting for the perfect moment to experience something far too often. The journey is the adventure.
Thank you! And I agree 😊

Yes!!! Down with Perfection! Thank you!
Great job! It turned out beautifully! Love the life lesson of not letting perfection keep you from starting something!
Thank you!
