I built a 1991 lime green foxbody mustang about 4 years ago 347 stroker sbf with nitrous. I still have it as we speak.

100% agree with you about the fox body mustang. I had a 91 as my first car and loved it. This car is a must for me.
A great hop up for these is the traxxas metal wheelie bar and metal wheelie bar wheels that have the bearings. They are bigger than the stock plastic ones. Amazing cars!

Soooo much awesome! I definitely need to get into the drag racing scene! There's a group here in GA called the RC Misfits of Atlanta and they will drag race ANYTHING! Cars, boats, foot race, all of it! I really dig the line up Proline has on drag bodies. It's awesome to see the OEMs taking interest in rc cars. This is a fantastic time to be in this wonderful hobby!

Dang, Traxxas nailed it on the Fox body!
I had a notchback Mustang I built up, started life as a 4 cyclinder, I dropped in a 408ci small block ford.
I am at the point where I will watch anything RC on You- Tube as opposed to all the TRASH news out there. Spring is just around the corner, so I will be very busy with my RC.
I know I’m late but gotta love when Mark visits the Traxxas store especially for new cars!! Wish I had a store close but if I did I might not have any money left lol 😅🇨🇦. I may have to get this drag slash 5.0. I always wanted a fox body mustang, this is a lot more affordable then the actual car

Got the mustang on release day, been working on the alignment ever since😂 can't get it to go perfectly straight. Just getting back into rc after 30 years, bought 3 cars in a month👍🏼

Have you noticed how smooth they run, especially with the race transmission. Currently have the C10, but I'm a huge mustang fan so I'm purchasing the new Stang !

You need to tune the rear shocks. Looks like the black car has the rear stepping causing the car to go left. To help correct that, increase the preload on the left side (add spacers) and/or decrease preload on the right side. Basically, instead rear preload on the side the car is steering towards.
Take note that the left lane was usually the loosing lane. Lane choice makes a difference.
@@toolbaggers saw it, but watch the black car. They actually both hook left, but the black car more so. Add that preload. Basic drag tuning.
Those cars remind me from back in my HS days and I do have to say they look bad ASS!!
The green body one you have is a collector item... the tail light stickers are on upside down!! 🙂
I love the traxxas mustang , I just got the losi I 22s and the dr10, new to drag racing wanted to try something new , usually do crawling, love your videos please keep up the good job

Man I remember my first nitro 4tec from Traxxas ready to run in the early 2000’s and also later had one with a factory 2 speed trans but look how far electric has come…it’s taken over nitro!

Awesome stuff. Great move by Traxxas to go with a Foxbody Stang. Funnily enough, one of our most famous touring car drivers here (Aus) used to race in a Foxbody in almost the same green as yours. If you want to see something strange, look up 80's Falcons here in Aus (XD/XE). Sort of an alternate timeline if the Falcon was still made in the US. They do look a bit like the Foxbody.

Something to note is that the fox body might be more aerodynamic than the c10? Some differences between the fox body and c10 is the body mounts and front splitter/bumper.

I know someone who had a Mustang of that body type decades ago in blue.

The tinted windows ruin trying to do a scale interior. Not so much on a drag car but my Bronco 2021 all you can do is repaint a clear or try and cut out the windows which is hard and using a $200 body isn't a good way to practice.
