I friend turned me on to Sandman in 1991. Comics were X-Men and DareDevil to me at the time. Changed the way I saw comics forever. I could spend hours on this subject. The mythology, symbolism, masculine and feminine story arcs, his story telling style, the detail of layout that calls back to stories from issues ago. It's a brilliant comic and story. So many themes and characters. Family is a major theme, and I believe ultimately Sandman is about how much you are willing to change to move forward in your life and the world you're in.
I always loved how Gaiman found a way to start a story for a character that is "Endless" and has no beginning. Also, in future issues, I believe the Jack Kirby Sandman does make a brief appearance. Great video, as always!
Brooks is so quiet or maybe you are just so loud that when Brooks talks I have to turn up my volume and then when you talk I get blown away lol or maybe I just have crappy audio
the series does find it's feet with the sound of wings. that is the first of the great issues that would come. So many layers to this series and it builds upon itself and tells a great over arcing story. I know it's not here but the issue about the Corinthian is the one of the most disturbing and greatest comics I've ever read. The introduction to dream with him being captured was genius and then finding his quest to find his 3 missing artifacts was excellent. BTW doesn't the mask remind you of the mask that original Sandman where's? BTW this is the only comic work of Neil Gaimen that I've enjoyed. I find all his other comics that I've read are lacking. His Eternals, Miracleman Book, and Batman story are all boring to me. I find that he's not good at writing super-heroes.
