It was important to back up the Wrexham win with another win at Oakwell. It was a pretty solid performance. The two goals after half time put the game to bed. We tired a bit near the end but Killip did very well to keep a clean sheet. DKD and Kelechi are quality players and they played very nicely. They are going to be key for us in the 2nd half of the season. It all looked doom and gloom after we were comprehensively beaten by Leyton Orient. All of the players must have got out of the bed on the wrong side. Clarke and the players have shown some character to bounce back. We can know get back to looking up the table. The next 3 games before Wycombe give us the opportunity to pick up 9 points. A good early signing. The Irish guy, Farrugia looks like a good signing who will push Gent for that LWB spot and his has the versatility to play in other spots too. Fingers crossed on a striker, and a top notch keeper would not go astray either.
Great show again,2 in a week, both in inclement weather. It must have been cold as Joe was wearing a thicker coat and hoodie, still didn't zip it up though. Great result and a good performance for 65 minutes, according to DC. I thought he gave a very honest analysis of the game and his thoughts going forward. He almost seemed happy 😊. Well done to all the squad, for grinding out 4 wins,I did say the Orient game was a one off and to quickly move on. Performances have been good for a while now. Surprised that Earl and Roberts have been reintroduced so soon, must have healed quickly. Suddenly everyone is feeling more optimistic about things around the club. Heavens, we've even bought another player over 24 years old. There are some good players and teams in the Irish league, it's good if the recruitment team are investigating this too. Hope everyone is well and haven't been too badly affected by this snowfall. Have a great week, especially if you are back at work. 😊
I think we’re getting used to standing in the dark & in the freezing cold, Phil 😊😊! I was surprised at the quick return of both Josh Earl & Marc Roberts.
Another positive result, and the bonus of a clean sheet. We have got on a roll and need to maintain it now. We have had a couple of good runs that have tailed off already this season, and both have needed some soul searching and we have roared back, let’s try and avoid the need for that again. Clarke has pointed out we now have the time to work on some of our weaknesses with our schedule being less hectic. Good to see a new player in a target position early, best of luck to the lad. This good run could help make us more attractive to our transfer targets.
Lovely analysis, rmb (as usual). Aching limbs can have a rest - it was good to see Earl & Roberts make appearances - I thought they’d be out a fair bit longer.
Another great performance and win for 65 minutes. Then Ben Killip was my MotM for me, made 5 or 6 great saves to keep them out. Nwakali looks a player, just so unflustered, never looks under pressure and rarely gives the ball away. DKD has been a revelation over Christmas, him and Watters up front seem to be a decent partnership. Watters does the running and DKD does the more flair stuff.
Turbo charging towards Auto promotion is on for Barnsley, sprinting for that 2nd position, just shows what a few winning games can do in a long season. Tracy, Joe & Andy it is good to see the smiling winning faces at the Fortress as Tracy put it, opposed to a few games back when the word awful was used an awful lot. Happy New Year it is for RAO
It makes things so much better when talking about games we’ve won, David - it’s “awful” (😂) when talking about losing especially when it’s freezing cools!
Enjoyed the game today some lovely goals and some very good performances the 3 that stood out for me were killip , kelechi , and O'Keefe but I would go for killip as man of match some of the saves were great the last 1 where he went the wrong way and he still managed to save it was special
Kelechi is some player. Okeefe with another assist! Very comfortable win and solid performance.Very happy for watters to get a goal after recent performances.ureds!
Well done great result for you today alot of tired teams will be looking forward to a week off now, hard earned 1-0 win for us v Shrewsbury Donelly scoring again who is now showng why ue is so highly rated after a tough start to his loan period and the week off means we get some of the injured players back, gl next week.
We deserved the win, Phil, & got into an excellent 3-0 lead - as you say, tired legs showed in trying to get back after an attack with Crawley’s fresher - they could easily have scored 2-3 goals near the end but for our keeper! You’re on an excellent run to get yourselves nearer & nearer to the playoffs! Up the Os
I’ve been looking forward to seeing DKD reach his full potential since first game of season we could definitely have a future club legend in the making 💯
With the recent goals, is it was like K.D and Phillips were challenging each other lol. Who can score the best goal each game ehh, and its got to be a goal of the month contender!. 😁
Good win against a team we expect to win no dramas .. disgraceful from killip not to let one in to make it 3 1 . Seriously though hes done well and deserves his place . Birmingham will run away with title but We can still make top two .. Difficult to not get too confident but i think we can do it .. the others will drop points cant see brum losing four games but if we can go on a winning run we can do it . Ill stop there and behave myself
I don't think we are the finished product, but we are scoring more goals than we are conceding atm. I think that corresponds with an improvement in the form of Killip, who did ride his luch once or twice today. Fortune favours the brave.
I was really pleased for Ben Killip, Neil, particularly after the Orient game - he’s come back stronger since then & made some really good saves yesterday. A “lucky” goalkeeper is the best kind to have 😂
Its good to hear Joe Beardy is mates with Ben Killip lol, so maybe theres a few more clean sheets to come ehh. 👍 We're up to 5th now, and maybe our season is finally taking off. 🙂
Great result again today - my MOTM was Kelechi - we need to get him on a longer contract, wouldn't mind the club offering Max Watters another deal, as it looks like we're saying goodbye to Josh Benson and Sam Cosgrove
Great performance from the reds for about 65mins deserved to 3-0 then decided to stop playing and allowed Crawley to take control of the game. They had some very good chances because of our sloppyness. Credit to killipe because he's was fantastic. If that was a better side, the result could have been different. That's poor game management from the reds to deside to put their foot off gas. I hope Clarke gets into them for that because that's was unacceptable. Overall a good attacking display but was naive at the end. onwards and upwards.
Good performace but we are woeful when challenging one on one with the keeper, very lucky Watters got the second goal. Not sure what they are doing in training but it feels like nobody has told them to aim for the corner of the net. Every one on one situation we find ourselves in this season seems to end in a direct shot straight at the keeper and its getting beyond frustrating when we're having these opportunities on a silver platter. Doesn't matter in games like this where we manage to bag other goals anyway but if this was one of the stronger sides in this division it may have been a different result. We need to be putting away simple opportunities like that and its crucial if we want to make the playoffs that we get a striker that can be clinical enough to capitalise on these chances. I do feel bad for saying this because Watters has played well the last few games with his general game, but only seems to be able to put the ball in the area of the net where their keeper is located.
Good assessment, Andy. We should have had 6. They should have scored at least 2. We tried our best to give them a goal. Desperate defending at times. We tried 3 strikers, and none scored. Cosgroves' contribution was a silly yellow card. Watters flatters to deceive and always offside. Humphrey's completely out of it. I am not sure what is going wrong there. I have been saying all season. Stop crossing the ball and play a ball to feet. That's where we are making our mark. COYR.
Please stop talking about how good Kelechi is until AFTER the window closes. Thank you. Good result. I expected it based on the way we dominated them down their place, but you still have to go out and do it.
Yeah it really angers me that, with people saying sack this clown, and he's crap, and he's out of his depth etc!. Absolute nonsense, and I say well done to Daz Clarke. 👍
We get them all the time as well Andy, on the Bbs board. They are pathetic to be honest. I know its all about fans different opinions etc. But if they are going to criticise when we're bad, then they really should give credit when we've been good. 👍

An analysis to be proud of, Michael - I loved reading it
Great show again,2 in a week, both in inclement weather. It must have been cold as Joe was wearing a thicker coat and hoodie, still didn't zip it up though.

I was surprised at the quick return of both Josh Earl & Marc Roberts.
Well done guys for a great instant reaction show! Well what do you say? More of the same please Jon Russel player of the match COYR
What a turnaround, John 4 wins in 4!
Thank you for your kind comment about the show😊

Nicely put, VC! DKD more involved in the game than being stuck wide left!

He did, Andy - wrong footed YT still managed to save it
Another magnificent display well done you red's
We rode our luck later on but it was about time, Wayne
Agreed Andy but we didn't fold like we have done earlier in the season at Oakwell so that's an improvement in itself
Ben 'Hasslehoff' Killip is rightfully getting some praise.
Just hope he can maintain it and not do anything stupid.
He’s been really good before & since the Orient game, GF!
Kelechi is some player. Okeefe with another assist! Very comfortable win and solid performance.Very happy for watters to get a goal after recent performances.ureds!
Also to mention how good killip was today once again
Well said, Keegan
Dkd 5 in last 6 and all players working as a team today!! Long may it continue!! Chuffed for all associated with the club four wins in four ⚽⚽⚽⚽
Can’t ask for more, Michael, since the Clear The Air meeting - credit to everyone
Well done great result for you today alot of tired teams will be looking forward to a week off now, hard earned 1-0 win for us v Shrewsbury Donelly scoring again who is now showng why ue is so highly rated after a tough start to his loan period and the week off means we get some of the injured players back, gl next week.

I’m with you, Lee - just needed to play to his strengths
Apart from K.D's poor heading ability lol.
He's really improving all the time now, in quality finishing and in confidence as well. 👍
@ my Mansfield niece thinks he’s an outstanding player (she’s devastated he’s gone) but I get the heading comment!
With the recent goals, is it was like K.D and Phillips were challenging each other lol.

I’m not really. I was just joking! 😂 But he certainly did me a favour to help me get 3 points in the Red All Over prediction competition! 🤪
Alright then, ne'eer mind ehh lol.
Even though its snowing right now, I'm thinking of a warm Play off final day at Wembers again, in May!. 😊
4 Nil, I said ..Adam Phillips let me down, POM for me Kelechi Nwakali or Kel for short, can't wait to travel to the Cobblers next Saturday
A weird last couple of mins, Al - like you, Noah wanted a 4th, whereas Jon had predicted 3-1!
Looking really good now gang! If we can keep this run going we might even have a chance at top 2 but I’m trying not to get too giddy. 😅😂 You Reds! ❤
And yet, here you are … giddy! 😂😂😂
@ indeed I am mate! 🤣
Great result again today - my MOTM was Kelechi - we need to get him on a longer contract, wouldn't mind the club offering Max Watters another deal, as it looks like we're saying goodbye to Josh Benson and Sam Cosgrove
I think you could well be right, John

I agree, JJJ - just remember we’d had an exhausting game v Wrexham & Crawley had NYD off - we certainly rode our luck

Motm Killip 🎯...As daft as it looks...we could have been looking at a draw without them saves...COYR
My thoughts as well, Mick
I had the same faith Joe 3-0 as well easy!! 🤣
Love it Lee! Bit nervous in that last 15 mins mate but super Ben to the rescue! 😂
Too nervous l!! 🤣
Please stop talking about how good Kelechi is until AFTER the window closes. Thank you.
Good result. I expected it based on the way we dominated them down their place, but you still have to go out and do it.
I’ll say it again, GH - Kelechi is the worst player I’ve ever seen in a Barnsley shirt in 66 years 😂😂
@@andrewsymcox3150 I'n't he rubbish?
@@thegreathadoken6808 I think we should extend his contract just so no other club has to witness such rubbish - it’s only fair
To be fair I called 3-0 too.
Me and you Mark! 👏🏻😉
2 wins at home in a week?....bloody hell it will snow in Barnsley tonight 😂😂😂😂
And we’ll sign a player early in the window! Oh no we won’t! Hold on ….. what’s happening, Adrian?
Does this now finally put to bed then theory that DC is out of his depth? Give him the tools and he'll do the job.
It does for me, Denzil
Yeah it really angers me that, with people saying sack this clown, and he's crap, and he's out of his depth etc!.
Absolute nonsense, and I say well done to Daz Clarke. 👍
@ I agree! Twitter is full of keyboard warriors who come out when we’ve been poor - disappear in the main when we’re winning
We get them all the time as well Andy, on the Bbs board. They are pathetic to be honest.
I know its all about fans different opinions etc. But if they are going to criticise when we're bad, then they really should give credit when we've been good. 👍
