Hold down the plastic around the sticker while peeling it away. That will prevent it from also being stretched out. Or tape it off with some painters tape.
@@PrankZabba it doesn't stretch it.. the lighter fluid makes it look like that.. I have a huge boxing tape removal video coming out this week on a 1st release batman vhs.. once the lighter fluid evaporates it shrinks back up.. you can also use lighter fluid if you have an uneven seal, you can use a napkin with a generous amount of lighter fluid in it to loosen the seal and even everything out
@@SlabKingCollectibles yeah I watched the video lol 😆 my point was when using a razer blade you don't have much room for mistakes I would recommend a plastic blade if anything
And how to you know if the tape is even good? Tape can get root too. Thats why this grading for Vhs, or Dvd will not work because it need to be play to see if the tape is working. Ppl will not buy this just for the cover of the film not working is just pointless.
I grade and sell them .. they sell and there's plenty of profit to be made... what's pointless is regurgitating the same 2 talking point as the rest of the trolls.. no one is Slab collecting for the tape inside.. it's strictly for the release, title and artwork..
@@SlabKingCollectibles so you mean you don't care if the tape is bad inside you don't care about the movie then. you care just about the picture and the seal? Its wierd. If i were to buy and spend thousands of $$ on an old vhs, I would want the movie to be in a great playing condition more then the cover picture to be great. That's why at some point ppl will realize that the tape is more important than just an unsealed vhs or dvd. People that collect Comics can see the page inside so movies should be the same.
You can tell if a movie has been in a moist environment, so can the grading companies, they grade on surface area as well as the condition.. they also note if mildew is on the sleeve or seal.. so for a tape to be anywhere above a 7.0 or 7.5 it will not have those characteristics... just curious, you do know what a moist environment will do to paper products right?.. 😉 thanks for commenting even if you hate my collection
@@SlabKingCollectibles I don't hate it at all 😅. just argument about tape can get mold and if you dont look you will never know. I bought a box set online when i got it it looked new. The box was in perfect condition, the sleeve perfect. Then I opened it to check the cassette and all the tape were molded all of them. So im sure if i got this box sealed it would be molded too but i would know about it. And it's what i mean they grade them but they have no clue how the tapes look like.
People buy them as Collectables, They Grade them according to what they see on the outside, No one really cares about the inside as long as it gives a Good Grade outside. No one will pay thousands of Dollars just to get it and Open it, Eventually it will be worth More with time, Like an Investment, same goes for other items, such as video games, etc. AWESOME VIDEO...

Great work! You have steady hands a lot of patience haha. Appreciate you sharing this.
Thank you
Great group of tapes. Good luck on the grading 🙂
Thank you
Please instead of music , its more important to us that you say what you are doing ,what you use to clean them and talk us through it all !
Will do, thank you for the input
What are you using to clean up the vhs and to take off the stickers?
Zippo fluid
Nice video homestead! What do you use to prewipe the vhs first?
Thank you, A small amount of zippo fluid on a tissue
How much does it cost to have a vhs tape graded ??
@@thomasmarshall8969 $50 shipped is around the average I've seen for the standard service... walk-through services can cost upwards to $200 to $300
A little heat goes a long way with removing stickers
When you heat a sticker on shrink wrap cellophane it shrinks and tears the seal before softening the glue on the sticker
I would not recommend it
@@SlabKingCollectibles I do it all the time never had a issue what I wouldn't recommend is using a razer blade !
@@enjoythesho1992 I don't cut it with a blade, I lift the sticker lol

Zippo fluid as in for lighter fluid?
Yes.. I've seen people use BBQ lighter fluid also but I've never tried it
@@SlabKingCollectibles ty I will use zippo for my sealed vhs 🤓👍
