- Whats up. First YT tutorial! I Discovered this technique for looping cloth a while back and not many people know about it - so I thought I would share.
BTW the Lightwave Point cache (MDD) addon should come with blender by default.
Enjoy!
Music's really too loud...
For those that's not working, head to the animation tab. Switch your left tab to non linear animation mode. From there, creat an nla track. Which watching on the right view, choose the area where you want your loop to start and drag it to 0. Duplicate the track, on the top track, move the the exact frame of that track to where you want the loop to end. For me I decided I wanted to have a 150 frame loop, so I put that frame at 150. From there, while selecting the second frame, click on animated influence and and key frame a transition time between the two, I chose the middle.
The tracks are now looped.
Hello! Thank you for this video, but i cant understand you because the music is louder than your voice.
My question is, which editor do you open up? i cant find it it and like i said, i cant understand witch editor it is? thank you for your help!
Nonlinear Animation :)
@@OfficialMindMatters thank you so much!
Took a while but i Got it ! Thanks man
Hello, I need some help ! I've done everything correctly and my looping anim works, however I can't seem to export it in fbx with the keyframed animation. Tried every methode in FBX, is there something I'm missing ?
Thanks in advance
Hello ! Thanks for sharing this video.
Is there a way to export the looping animation in abc or fbx animation ? Would be great !
Hey Coopstap, could you provide us the blend file please? Thanks :D
oh thanks man it made my flags very smooth and simple
moving way to fast, even slowing down the video is still not thorough
WOW Grape!
I can barely hear you mate
The music is way to loud...
Can't hear a word you're saying
Yeh… i turned on subtitles
Thank you so much!! s2s2s2s
nice short and straight to the point video. Very useful. Next time raise the volume of your voice or reduce the music one
Wow this is by far one of the worst tutorials I've ever seen. Too loud that is almost impossible to follow what are you doing at the end.
Is it possible to export the animation to fbx? Exporting the simulation to fbx will result in no movement. And how do I export the water simulation to FBX should I do it with another Tutorial? Exporting a water simulation to MDD results in an error.
i didn't understand how to do anything
THIS IS SO FUCKING COOL THANKS!!
@Coopstap Congrats on your first yt video! Nice tutorial, I am a little confused about the NLA editor part. I’m unclear on what you did with the copied strip. It seems like you line it up with frame 1 but then also line it up with frame 270. I’ve rewatched the tutorial several times and cannot figure it out.
hey, u just want to line up the two NLA tracks so that the first frame of your timeline looks the same as the end frame of your timeline. this should result in the two tracks overlapping a bit, which is where you want to blend between them by animating the influence :).
@@coopstap1062 thank you
I can't move the NLA track behind 0. Not the only one to face the issue either, explain how to solve that
@@Alex__Star update blender, they fixed it
when importing the .mdd it does not turn into keyframes and it makes the flag shape a jumbled mess - I applied scale/translation/location to the flag before exporting and turned off 'cloth' on the duplicated shape - why would it be so incorrect?
figured it out - I had a subD modifier on the original flag that was distorting the number of vertex in the .mdd
It always plays the first base animation and not the actual NLA track. How do I fix this?
Are you sure that you set the first keyframe (of the animation influence) to "0" and the last keyframe to "1"?
same. did you fix it?
You might have imported the mdd onto the object which is still running a cloth simulation. You have to remove the cloth simulation first.
Your tutorial for me only works up to the part about considering it as a vertex. I select it as a vertex, create the group and when it comes to associating the cloth it doesn't stick together. you can help me ?
There's a good approach here.
Would appreciate if you could post without the music and slower transitions please.
thank you so much for this life saving tutorial
subedd!!!
Thank you so much!
