  • Complete coverage of Event 1 of the inaugural Strongman competition at the 2021 Rogue Invitational, from Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas (Friday, October 29). The Elephant Bar Deadlift has made legends of some and humbled others. And as the first challenge of this 2-day competition, it's a rude awakening for the field of 10. With some of the greatest names in the history of Strongman given three shots to establish their max weight, just three were able to eclipse the 900 LB mark, with Martins Licis, Tom Stoltman, and JF Caron battling to grab an early win.
    Details of the Event:
    Rising bar system
Each athlete has 3 attempts to establish their max weight

Using Big Loz was the best decision Rogue could've made and providing the events in real time is appreciated! WSM should be taking notes on how to provide a top notch event.

Yeah weight is linear like that, if you put 100 lbs on the bar and deadlift it and it’s easy, throwing another 30 lbs can make it impossible, same with 230, 330 and even 830, weird to think that each pound for these guys matter when it’s near the thousands

How many times has it been now when Shaw damaged his hamstring on the Elephant bar ? I remember his deadlift permanently went down after he damaged his hamstring on the same bar at Arnold classic. He may wanna use maybe a less hamstring intensive stance for this bar. It just doesn't suit him and is shortening his career.

Caron winning this event was a no brainer. Thor and Eddie isn't there, Brian struggles with the elephant bar, Jerry was really competitive, but it doesn't look like he's there anymore.
Martins and Tom improved a lot, I see a lot more battles between them in the future.
