@@melo-drama8062 Unfortunately its whats held him back from 1st place finishes. The last 3 worlds winners all have no weak events. Deadlift will always be in big competitions. Once Mateusz heals he needs to prioritize deadlift training.
No matter what people thought of Shiv and Pritchett being in the show, you have to admire Shiv's raw determination to do as much as he possibly can even when he's beaten up and injured. Nobody does it like him, nobody grinds reps and events as hard. Always has a smile and bows/salutes to the crowd afterwards too, absolute class act.
If only on top of heroic determination he could organize himself better - event planning, injury prevention, healing process etc. Admirable indeed, but could be smarter about things.
@@bobibufi1389 Oh I 100% agree with you, no question. I truly wish he'd take a year out kinda like Licis did, get proper recovery, heal up, train smart around his injuries and come back after he's properly recovered. But the sheer determination and desire to push on, albeit not the smartest, is impressive in it's own right.
I think casuals don't realise this lineup is based off of 2020 as this was meant to be held last year but wasn't due to covid. Jerry was a beast at the 2020 wsm comp and missed the podium cause he couldn't get the 5th Atlas stone up. If this was a 2021 roster invite, you'd have Trey, Evan, Adam or Maxime instead of Jerry, Shiv, Rob.
Rogue setting the bar for how you cover strongman competitions. Great cash prizes. Quality equipment. Atmosphere was great. Live broadcasting! That was the biggest thing that WSM needs to do. No more tape delays!
Even more exciting knowing he’s not even half back yet. Still recovering from his injuries but he needs to be careful to not do too much to soon. It blows my mind he can zero deadlift and lift one stone and still put up 4th. Deadlifts weren’t particularly heavy here either. If he weren’t protecting his injury he would have put up a decent score there as well.
Respect to brian. Few fully able bodied men in the world can do a 1000 lb yoke into 3 360lb log lifts over head. The amount that can do it with a blown out hamstring while struggling just to walk, even fewer. What a legend.
@@wileecoyote5749 I mean obviously. THe guy is 6'8" 400 lbs. Still requires fortitude to push through an injury that almost makes you not able to even walk to then push that kind of weight in a medley.
Injury sucks for Brian. Especially cause he’s still so super competitive. Loved the heart he showed here. Glad he’s doing so well outside of competing with his training gear and supplements but as long as he feels like he can compete I see no problem with him coming out every time
can you imagine is Shaw's Hamstring hadnt been injured? He made that log look pretty easy even with the hamstring, he owned those presses. Always fun to watch this guy!
Mateusz Kieliszkowski is an incredible competitor. Seeing him run the Wheel of Pain is one of the most amazing things I've seen a person do, and every performance he gives, he seems like the biggest sweetest guy on stage. Love watching this guy perform.

It was very nice to see a partial standing ovation for Shivyakov. Can't imagine how frustrating it must be to get an injury SO early on in the competition. The fact that he's even trying to attempt the lifts is pretty amazing. Respect to THAT athlete. I've competed on disabled bench press a few times. And I can't even think of how frustrated I would be if I got even a minor injury on my warm up lift.
Shahlaei is being a bit modest saying he's done the yoke carry one or 2 times, he's quite possibly the greatest yoke carrier of all time, in fact any event dealing with speed, farmers carries etc he was just insanely fast.

Given that he just saw Luke out of all people to fail the log after blitzing the yoke, that was evidently the best choice. Like Loz said, Tom is a real professional these days, being able to make good choices to make the best of his strength. A strong competitor for years to come.
Novikov got Robbed and could of been seriously hurt by the raised platform. He was back pedaling and trying too press at the same time. He is very lucky tbh. Rogue you need to review things like these its 360 pounds were talking about
