Poilievre laughs at Trudeau’s take on inflation: "Did he realize budgets don't balance themselves?"

  • At question period in the House of Commons on Wednesday, Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poilievre had a laugh while debating Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on inflation.
While talking about a recent Trudeau interview, Poilievre quoted the prime minister as saying "inflation goes up exactly the same amount" as money spent. "Did he also realize that budgets don’t balance themselves?” Poilievre quipped.
While responding to the question, Trudeau named a number of programs his government has brought in to help Canadians. “But he [Poilievre] stands against it with some made-up excuse against inflation,” Trudeau retorted.
“He calls his own words a made-up excuse, Mr. Speaker,” Poilievre said while laughing.

The FED lowered its inflation objective to less than 2% in 2012. They changed the target to a long-term average of 2% inflation. Because long-term interest rates are set at inflation plus a profit margin, the implication is lower interest rates. I consider the current rising interest rate to be a very serious issue it will cause more investors to withdraw from the market. But then despite the severe bear market, I am aware of certain investors that continue to earn over $365,000. Wish I could accomplish that.

I totally agree, it's been three years and counting, and I've made over 1.7 million by simply following a coach's advice. I was on the sidelines for a while watching, trying to determine the best time to get in, before I came across a coach, recommended by my wife. I was reluctant at first but I went ahead and contacted the coach. As a small reward for my consistency, I went on a trip to the Bahamas in the late summer.

The CPC co-owns (with the US Republican party) PostMedia, who in turn owns 106 newspapers in Canada. No other party in Canada own any media outlets. PostMedia testified in court that they aren't news so they can pass off their lies as opinions.
CPC created the carbon tax in 2008, GST in the 80s, and there's never been a reduction in taxes after any of their cuts at the provincial or federal level. So sure, vote the CPC in if you're sick of Trudeau, but be sure to be happy with having no services or healthcare and far less money than you have now.
If you don't like how things are now, remember that most provinces are conservative currently. Be sure to research what the federal government is responsible for compared to the provinces, because the Con playbook of blaming Trudeau for their provincial failures is working.

Because nobody has any money to spend. When we are taxed to oblivion, economic issues hit a lot harder. Nobody spending money equals fewer dollars chasing more goods.
But this is only temporary. An economy can not stand on spending alone. The real issue is that we sit on the worlds largest stockpile of resources and produce nothing except government jobs and state welfare dependency.
We want to get away from a consumer economy, but instead, we've replaced it with communist policy. And we are experiencing the pitfalls of such poor decisions like every other Marxist state.

If they over spend they just print more money by increasing the amount of money available to Canadians and those chumps called the tax payers cover the difference through inflation. It’s a beautiful system if you run the government like Justin, have a trust fund and never had to work hard for your money and instead increase your wealth by implementing policies that for many Canadians may seem terrible but will in fact bring you great rewards financially.

Are we talking about debt to GDP.. The Harper and Mulroney government contributed $420 billion to the $612 billion debt before the Liberals took over. Of course a large part of the Conservatives debt went to their rich friends. The middle class got back very and very little from that debt.
Trudeau doubled our deficit. I am sure Covid has contributed to a large portion of our deficit. Like the rest of the world. Of course it doesn't help trying to appease the NDP with policies the Liberals probably wouldn't have anything to do with. Or policies they would pass. Check out the debt the rest of the world is in. It is staggering.

"We will grow the economy so that we can get back to balance in a responsible and equitable way without cuts. That is our plan," O'Toole said at a campaign event in Ottawa.” - CBC, Aug 31, 2021

A MESSAGE TO ALL NON-GOVERNMENT UNION EMPLOYED CANADIANS:
Do not fall for the guilt trip -- People who plan to vote conservative are not the heartless monsters our PM keeps implying through his rhetoric. I am voting conservative for the first time in my life, because there is simply no means of sustaining the course we are currently on as a country without making serious concessions later on.
We have 2 airlines, 3 telecommunications companies, 5 banks, 3 chain grocers, making up 75-85% of their respective industry's markets share. The barrier grows higher and higher for small businesses to compete and flourish, which funnels more money into a real estate market being propped up to mask the failures of our leaders to identify and foster real economic development. This matters to all of us -- even those employed in our ever-growing government sector.
The gold they promise you today isnt yours. Its gold you need to spend today too.... government programs should be a safety net for a select few -- once the middle class canadian family becomes reliant on these programs (with the exception of healthcare, and public education), its over for us economically.
