- U.S. President Joe Biden said on Sunday that he will not be seeking a second presidential term, but will continue to serve out his current term as president. His announcement comes in the wake of a disastrous debate with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump last month, which threw the Democratic party into chaos just months before the U.S. election. Though Biden is endorsing Vice-President Kamala Harris, the news sent America into uncharted territory. Jackson Proskow explains.
Plus, Biden's decision not to seek re-election was expected by many, but his announcement was nonetheless a political earthquake. Leaders from across the political spectrum - from Washington to those across the globe - have been reacting to the news, which could have consequences reaching far beyond the U.S. Redmond Shannon has more on the responses from world leaders.
