- Can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in Scarlet and Violet using only Grass types?
Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
Hardcore Rules:
No items in battle (only held)
No overleveling past the next gym leader
Viewer Rules:
Nickname all Pokemon

For future reference in case anyone does want to use any of the Lotad line in a main playthrough in the future; it is not weak to Iono because of its grass typing. It’s the reverse of why it’s not weak to Mela
Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon and Scovillain are the only Pokemon with Fire-Grass as their Typings
Ogerpon with the Heartflame mask is really really decent. Fire and Grass is a very unique typing and it has a great competitive moveset. Also plus 1 attack after tera. Which isnt the best but still not shabby. Problem is it hogs your tera which another pokemon might need more. Makes it predictable in competitive.
It’s great, however I don’t think you need the stat boosts tbf as it’s got some great moves and good typing, obviously it’s a bonus for using the Tera with it but don’t think you’re necessarily forced into having to use it on the Oger

Did you forget about Toedscruel or could you not get it due to area encounter rule? I only remembered because of the Arven battle myself 😅
And some other grass types too like Amoongus and Deerling
Also Ogerpon being allowed was fun to watch and didn't make it totally unfair
Did you not conisder Poltchageist for the team? Hospitality wouldn't help but does have Heat Proof hidden ability
Did you consider doing Ogre Clan battles as well?
I think I may have had an encounter of toedscruel left however not 100% off memory lol, regarding the tea I think the one place rule stopped me getting it and that’s why I didn’t, also ogre battles didn’t seem like they add much which is why I skip them in my playthroughs

I'm curious with this playthrough. I am not familiar with half of the battles you mentioned. How come it's different from other playthroughs of Scarlet and Violet?

You may have mentioned this, but why was your Lotad unevolved??? It evolves into Lombre at level 14.
Because I caught it as the level cap I was unable to take it that extra level to evolve it unfortunately, would have gone right through to Ludi if not lol

Yeah I think it’s the run I’ve lost the most Pokémon in so far in terms of Sc/Vi nuzlockes, doesn’t help some of the late game battles are ones which are the weaknesses lol
I did it as well. And went really easy. Hoppip was my mvp for sure.

Wait how have u managed to lower the levels of the teal mask area
If you start the dlc with a new game, the levels will be much lower
It works like the Isle of Armor from Sword and Shield, depending on where you are in the game, determines the level, so if you have beaten the game the Pokémon will be up to level 70s. But at the start it’s much more manageable. Likely the Indigo Disc will be the DLC that starts at level 60, considering how the Crown Tundra went.
