Always glad to see FlygonHG pop up on the main page, this run is gonna be real dang fun I can already tell. If you're curious to try a new Nuzlocke idea, I have one: Why not try to beat a game using the Ace Pokemon of every Gym Leader? For example, in Platinum you could use Cranidos/Rampardos, Roserade, Mismagius, Lucario, Floatzel, Bastiodon, Froslass, and Electivire. It may be simple or hard depending on which region you go through, but I bet you could build a fun story around it. Maybe you're an up-and-coming Gym Trainer whose trying to make their own Gym, and unsure of which type to use.
I liked how you called out Squawkabilly as good early on and useless in the mid-late game, and then deliver the final blow with it. That's good misdirection that's played really low-key. And congrats on overcoming Nemona's Skeledurge; that thing's a monster that fears nothing. It's already dead and the embodiment of fire -- what could frighten it?
I've already done that mind you that it wasn't a nuzlocke and I don't have any footages to prove it to you but I did do a causal play through with only psychic types
The script and bits that Flygon has in his more recent videos are INCREDIBLE! Massive props!

I did it in my Fuecoco playthrough and got myself onto the roof to get the TM up there as well as the pokemon. Nice video though. I love normal types though and they are my favorite type. Normal types, in my opinion, have the most versatility in the moves that they can get. Great challenge video and I can't wait for the next one. Please keep up the great work. Edit: I also think that a mono-dark nuzlocke in Scarlet and Violet would be interesting.
I know it’s a minor thing, but that pun “trulywudoo” was absolutely fantastic, I love your comedy even if your pronunciation of arcanine grinds my gears I still love your comedy
What we learned apart from this vid from the wonderful tips of Mr gatlin: 1)don't count natural weather in these games. 2)apparently even ending on a death by recoil moves fricks these games up.
*reaches the trivia section* god Flygon is so weird (affectionate) Truly? Best nuzlocker on TH-cam. I look forward to each and every one of your videos
29:04 I like how they made the rival actually a really good trainer. instead of a rival that is always in your shadow, you have to get out of your rivals shadow as one of the best trainers in paldea. it makes it way more satisfying to beat her, rather then the rival in sword and shield where you crush his dreams.
@jasper7714 If you skip all the dialogue, you’re going to miss things. Nemona is already a Champion, and throughout the game, is deliberately using low-level Pokémon and going easy on the player to train them into someone who can challenge her at full power because she’s bored with winning all the time. She isn’t fighting at full strength until the end of the Victory Road storyline, by which point you’ve become a Champion yourself and are on equal footing with her.
Jokes on you Flygonhg. I do know what Dunspace is based on! It's based on Tsuchinoko. It's a mythical snake creature. Noko from YoKai Watch is also based on it
Ive been waiting until after I finish Pokemon Violet to watch any gameplay videos of Violet/Scarlet so I could avoid spoilers. I just beat it less than five minutes ago and let me just say; I crapped so hard on this game but it's actually really good. I cried.
Not really a monotype, but how about an hisuin nuzlocke through Scarlet/Violet. When you encounter the native variants of the Hisuin Pokemon trade it with a Hisuin Pokemon in home. Ergo: your Ursaring for a Ursaluna or your Stantler for a Weirdeer et cetera.
Random question-would you consider using Arceus evolutions in the future since most of them are pretty good and might be fun to use, now that we can transfer SV mons into Arceus to evolve them? Ursaluna would've been an absolute monster in this nuzlocke
Id just like to say that I’ve watched every video on this channel and your VODS channel and you got me into hardcore nuzlocking so I tried fire red as my first one and just beat the champion with just two deaths. It was so fun thank you Dr oneball 😁
Now there is a strat for Violet all you have to do is get Dudunspars and have it learn 1: Calm Mind, 2: Agility, 3:Coil, 4:Baton Pass. And then, you pass all the stats onto your strongest Pokémon, and bam you have a killing machine🎉😮 Hope this was helpful 😁
Challenge idea: mirror match challenge! You can only use pokemon that match the type of the current boss. Water gym? Only water types. Giovanni fight? Only ground types. In each route you can choose your encounter type, to avoid softlocks. Have fun!
-overly dramatic gasp- Ugly Baby?! How dare you slander the aye aye! Jokes aside, fantastic video! Grafaiai and Dunsparce have been unexpected MVPs during my playthroughs of Violet, so it's nice to see them get some screen time, but I was not expecting the final blow from a Squawkabilly of all Pokemon. A cool twist.
This run really shows just how diverse normal types can be. Also that the mohawk bird isn't as awful as I thought. Anyways, it's time for me to once again recommend returning to a No-Same Type Moves Nuzlocke. I'll just recommend B/W or Platinum again.
I had no idea that litleos were so predominantly female. It’s so crazy because I just caught a shiny male within the last day, and I’m excited to have something that might be on the rare side in a shiny male Pyroar

Fun fact: there is a significant trainer (Gym leader, Team Star admin, Elite Four/Top Champion) that "specializes" in each of the 18 types. 8 Gym leaders, 5 Team Star camps, 5 Pokemon League trainers (Yes I know that Geeta doesn't really use a specific type but her ace Glimmora is the only type that doesn't have a specialist: rock.) Each of the Pokemon League trainers's type specialty coincides with the type of a Titan Pokémon (Klawf and Geeta, Bombirdier and Larry (😔), Orthworm and Poppy, Great Tusk/Iron Treads and Rika, and Tatsugiri and Hassel). yeah i'm gonna list all the types and their corresponding trainer, what did you expect? Normal: Larry (Gym Leader) Fire: Mela (Team Star Camp) Water: Kofu (Gym Leader) Grass: Brassius (Gym Leader) Electric: Iono (Gym Leader) Ice: Grusha (Gym Leader) Fighting: Eri (Team Star Camp) Poison: Atticus (Team Star Camp) Ground: Paradox Donphans (Titan Pokemon) Flying: Bombirdier (Titan Pokemon) Psychic: Tulip (Gym Leader) Bug: Katy (Gym Leader) Rock: Klawf (Titan Pokemon) Ghost: Ryme (Titan Pokemon) Dark: Giacamo (Team Star Camp) Dragon: Tatsugiri (Titan Pokemon) Steel: Orthworm (Titan Pokemon) Fairy: Ortega (Team Star Camp) what did that accomplish?
S: You Bloody Arrogant FOOL! You killed them all Flygon, ALL OF THEM, Because of your incompetence! F: You think I'm incompetent?! Squawkabilly, there was no saving those Pokemon, between the Skeledirge and the attack boosts, at most I only hastened their demise, and with relatively few sacrificies. S: Few? FEW?! There are THOUSANDS of Staraptors in Nuzlockes, good Birds, serving their trainers, and you let them all die. F: Squawkabilly, a Staraptors LIFE is to die, it's always been a trainers job to take them to where they CAN die. I'm not afraid to spend them, but I never waste them.

Fun Fact: You can actually catch Squakabilly on your house in the beginning if you aim your pokeball just right to hit the Squakabilly on the roof of the house.
I was searching for a normal type ni Locke of this like 3 weeks ago, love it!
I will always love that Larry's staraptor in the 1st Larry fight literally only knows facade and aerial ace.
Awesome as usual! I think that what these games really need to become hard is a rule "no tm moves in battle"
What we learned apart from this vid from the wonderful tips of Mr gatlin:
1)don't count natural weather in these games.
2)apparently even ending on a death by recoil moves fricks these games up.
I’d love to see a bug type monolocke of BW2! Gen V introduced so many cool bug types, and you even get to use a Volcarona (my favorite Pokémon!)
*reaches the trivia section* god Flygon is so weird (affectionate)
Truly?
I was convinced the trivia section was pivoting to an ad, but was shocked when it never came. Hooray for non-sequiturs!
The way Dr. Flygon didn’t know what a Squirrel is really makes me appreciate the regional mons we do not see everywhere in the real world.
I cried.
"With the seismic power of Thick Deer's dumptruck ass" is a phrase I didn't think I'd hear before.
Not really a monotype, but how about an hisuin nuzlocke through Scarlet/Violet. When you encounter the native variants of the Hisuin Pokemon trade it with a Hisuin Pokemon in home. Ergo: your Ursaring for a Ursaluna or your Stantler for a Weirdeer et cetera.
and i thought my weekend was gonna be boring, thanks bruv
Random segments like that trivia section are amazing
Random question-would you consider using Arceus evolutions in the future since most of them are pretty good and might be fun to use, now that we can transfer SV mons into Arceus to evolve them? Ursaluna would've been an absolute monster in this nuzlocke
Hate to break it to ya but not all the hisui evolutions made it to SV, though maybe they may be added once more dlc releases
@@SamuEL-73nuu.o.S they…did tho? I’m not sure what you’re referring to
Id just like to say that I’ve watched every video on this channel and your VODS channel and you got me into hardcore nuzlocking so I tried fire red as my first one and just beat the champion with just two deaths. It was so fun thank you Dr oneball 😁
"the seismic power of thick deer's dumptruck ass" why is this the funniest and oddest flygon challenge ever lmao
Have fun!
Mr HG, if you see this, please reply so I can stop spamming this each video ❤
Been waiting for this one, lots of normal types in this game!
"You've got two legs but only one integrity," ain't that the truth. Well said.
I love how he doesn’t know what a squirrel is 😂
I liked my own comment
“Parrot will be good early game but boxed later on”; Parrot being a useful team member and getting the final kill
Thank you for my daily dose of learning! Trivia night at the bar this week isn’t ready for me now
-overly dramatic gasp- Ugly Baby?!
The not knowing what a tsuchinoko is combined with the mispronunciation running gag... mwah. Such wonderful bait.
I watch one of your videos every day to learn how to do hardcore nuzlockes. One day I’ll give it a try! Haha 😅
Let’s get it FlygonHG 🔥🔥💯 road trip + your videos = time travel
I think a BDSP fire type monlocke kinda has to happen at this point its iconic
"you got two legs but only kne integrity" mr Gatlin is really one of the great minds of our time!
Parrot really defying expectations and being useful in the last fight
This run really shows just how diverse normal types can be. Also that the mohawk bird isn't as awful as I thought.
Anyways, it's time for me to once again recommend returning to a No-Same Type Moves Nuzlocke. I'll just recommend B/W or Platinum again.
I had no idea that litleos were so predominantly female. It’s so crazy because I just caught a shiny male within the last day, and I’m excited to have something that might be on the rare side in a shiny male Pyroar
I mean, that's whatevet fraction a shiny is vs like 11% of the entire species. That' more than "remotely"
Mr Gatlin is still teaching through you and whoever else carries his wisdom to others.
Bug type monoruns are always fun because of how much they suck. Ice types are interesting too.
After gen 5 they're pretty fun, but you're not wrong. USUM and SWSH have great bug diversity.
I played with quaxly as my starter and never failed to have a one shot against nemona for the entire game. It's so weird to see her actualy posing a threat
Jesus Chris that trivia bit 😂 it wasn't funny but it was sure memorable which made it funny somehow 😂
Flygon you've inspired me to try a nuzlocke! I'm doing SoulSilver using all ✨gurls✨ even being able to get pretty much any mon, it's haaard!
Poor Grafaiai being called ugly baby, when he is based on an animal with the cool name Aye-Aye
What was Flygon smoking while making this video lol(also love the vids bro)
Bro didn't know what a squirrel was💀🪑😩🦧🗿
Those trivia sections were wild and taught me a lot about trivia
ball is the true champion. undeniable proof that igglybuff is the best pokemon
Let's go! Flygon hg upload
Normal: Larry (Gym Leader)
Fire: Mela (Team Star Camp)
Water: Kofu (Gym Leader)
Grass: Brassius (Gym Leader)
Electric: Iono (Gym Leader)
Ice: Grusha (Gym Leader)
Fighting: Eri (Team Star Camp)
Poison: Atticus (Team Star Camp)
Ground: Paradox Donphans (Titan Pokemon)
Flying: Bombirdier (Titan Pokemon)
Psychic: Tulip (Gym Leader)
Bug: Katy (Gym Leader)
Rock: Klawf (Titan Pokemon)
Ghost: Ryme (Titan Pokemon)
Dark: Giacamo (Team Star Camp)
Dragon: Tatsugiri (Titan Pokemon)
Steel: Orthworm (Titan Pokemon)
Fairy: Ortega (Team Star Camp)
what did that accomplish?
Sun/moon farmlock (farm animals only)
Or
Sword/shield chonklock (encounters above a certain weight/height)
The squirrel part made me laugh lol
