I visited Izumi on the ovation of the seas in 2016. Regret not having more and not making any videos of my trip too lol i was like 17 back then. Fun times! thanks for this video brings back memories
Glad that our video brought back some fond memories of your visit to Izumi on the Ovation! It’s never too late to create new memories, so perhaps you could plan another trip soon!
I love mochi and those mochi ice creams look really good- like how they come in three different flavors. The sushi rolls look delicious too. Thanks for sharing.💕
Hi Joann and David, we love Asian cuisine and it all looked good. When we go on the Summit in June, we have plans to eat at Sushi on Five, people say it's very good. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut
Awesome video! I’m cruising on Allure of the Seas in July and looking forward to the Specialty restaurants. Thanks to your comprehensive food reviews, I have my eating plan all mapped out…gotta be strategic LOL 😋🍱
@@TravelTouristVideos Thanks for the quick replies. Looks tasty I want to go there I might just book myself for lunch as my wife doesn't want to go lol
Thanks! The teppanyaki was more fun for sure, but we enjoyed Izumi as well. It's a tough choice if you had to pick one, so it's more about your personal tastes.
So how did the specialty dining credit work here? Or even the 35.99 per person mentioned? You get one app, one entree, one dessert? Seems like you guys got a lot of stuff if it all fit into that with no extra charge. Great video!
The $35 includes one small plate, two large plates & a dessert. But you can also choose to order individual items- let's say you just want the rainbow roll and a poke bowl, that'd cost you $14 + $17 = $31. Or if you pay the $35, but want to order extra beyond what's included with that price.
quibbles, not quips ;-) I rarely see real wasabi outside Japan or hi-level Japanese restaurants. The typical green paste is a type of horseradish. The rolls looked pretty heavy on the rice, but the sashimi looked really good.
I have yet to find any so-called “sushi” restaurant on a cruise line that offers a good variety of sushi beyond Americanized rolls. Nigiri/sashimi are usually one type of tuna (Akami), salmon and Ebi style shrimp. Fake wasabi & piling pickled ginger on each piece & drowning in Shoyu (soy sauce). No choice like gluten free, low sodium Tamari. Too plebeian for my taste. Maybe cruises are for those with beer & sliders palates who drown their steaks with ketchup.
@@TravelTouristVideos I thought we got sushi today :p but nah.. Mexican food.. (not my fv.. xd) ANYWAYS.. when I get to a buffet. I will take all fish at once 👍🥳 I'm with my fam. If you ask
I really love your post. You are really honest without being picky. I am going on the Radiance of the Sea to Alaska in June. I will rememberyou guys
Thank you very much- glad it was helpful! 😊 Have a wonderful cruise on the Radiance!
Glad to see you back cruising!
Thanks- we're happy to be back cruising as well!

When I went on harmony of the seas. We always go to Izumi and order the sushi to go!
Nice- didn't know you could get it to go. Thanks for the comment!

Those were some yummy sushi and mochi 😋. Thanks for watching and commenting as always 😊

Thanks Bob & Jill! We've heard good things about Sushi on Five as well. We'll have to try it next time!

Thank you so much! 😊 Have a great time on the Allure- it's an amazing ship!
Looks lovely so you got 3 starters? The soup spring rolls and fried chicken. If you order extra does it just get added to the bill?
Yup there were 3 of us, but you can order additional starters and entrees at their a la carte price.
@@TravelTouristVideos Thanks for the quick replies. Looks tasty I want to go there I might just book myself for lunch as my wife doesn't want to go lol
Any time! Have a great cruise and enjoy Izumi! 😋
Nice video. I was thinking either trying this one or the teppenyaki. It looks like you guys enjoy the teppenyaki a bit more
Thanks! The teppanyaki was more fun for sure, but we enjoyed Izumi as well. It's a tough choice if you had to pick one, so it's more about your personal tastes.
@@TravelTouristVideos thank you. Which is not of your favorite?
@@TravelTouristVideos By the way, I have meaning to say to please tell your wife that she is great at her food impression
@@TravelTouristVideosI also want to ask. Did you prepurchase your izumi lunch before you board?
I think we did like the teppanyaki a little better
Great video! With the unlimited dining package do you get the miso soup, appetizer, 2 large plates and dessert?
Thank you! 😊 Yup you sure do with the dining package- have a great time!
Izumi's was our favorite on Ovation although Wonderland was the most exciting and delicious restaurant we've ever been too.
Great videos!
Thank you! 😊 Yeah Wonderland looks really interesting- we've gotta try it next time.
Is it a la carte or a fixed price? Saw pricing on the menu, but you stated it was $35pp
Ah- I forgot to mention in the video. The $35 includes the miso soup, an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert. Or you can just go a la carte.

Thanks! Yup 1 small plate (miso soup included), 2 large plates & a dessert. What you saw was for 2 people 🙂
Love this video great review
Thanks- glad you enjoyed it!
Very helpful!!! Thank you!!!
It's our pleasure- glad it was helpful. Thanks for the comment! 😊
what does the $35/pp that I have to pay online prior to the cruise cover? I am still confused because I see a menu with prices on it.
The $35 includes one small plate, two large plates & a dessert. But you can also choose to order individual items- let's say you just want the rainbow roll and a poke bowl, that'd cost you $14 + $17 = $31. Or if you pay the $35, but want to order extra beyond what's included with that price.
@@TravelTouristVideos thank you for clarifying that. I enjoy your videos and will definitely subscribe and share
Thank you! 😊 If you have any more questions let me know!
Do you know for the $20 credit in addition to the unlimited dining package can you use that for Starbucks? Or only the restaurants. Thanks!
Nope- only the restaurants. In fact even if you have the beverage package it doesn't include Starbucks.
Thanks! And I also have to wait on board until I make all my reservations for the UDP?
What comes with the 35dollar per person price? Thank you.
For the $35 you get one small plate, 2 large plates & a dessert
@@TravelTouristVideos thank you first time cruising and, many things are confusing. Thank you!!
You're very welcome- have a great first cruise!!
How does it work when you pay the $35 per person??
You get 1 small plate (miso soup included), 2 large plates & a dessert. What you saw in the video were food for 2 people.
