Haven't purchased anything via fpv marketplace. Prices weren't compelling and seems to easy to get scammed. Especially used drones, crashes have a cumulative affect on the components. Oh yeah it still works. 🤞😬 Happy flying everyone. 😎
I haven't been on there in a while. The last time I took a look people were asking for MORE than what you can buy new so I thought it was a waste of time.
I have my own belgian/dutch version of a group like that. I saw some good deals on there but offcourse it is like all other things in the RC hobby in general. Most people think they have gold in their hands or don’t want to loose money on it.
Sorry, this is a long response. I bought some DJI Goggles V2 off marketplace about 6 months ago. I sold them last week, with a few upgraded/extra accessories that I bought for the same price I paid for them. They were in great shape when I bought them and the same when I sold them. The key is paying with PayPal Goods and Services. This way if you buy something that’s not in the condition that the seller says it’s in, you can return them and get your money back. I bought a RadioMaster TX16 and the seller said it was the ELRS version. It was not, it was the 4 in 1 version. I tried to contact the seller but got no response. I sold it on eBay at a lower price than what I paid for it. I got PayPal involved and asked for just the difference of what I paid for them and the loss I took selling it on eBay. They sided with me and refunded me the difference.
Good story, thanks for sharing. I'm surprised PayPal covered the difference. I wonder how they know what you got on eBay and could they verify it's the same item?
I wouldn't use Facebook personally. It seems like a great place to get scammed and I'm sure there's a lot of unsuspecting beginners on there thinking something is a good deal when it's not.
Ebay hasn't been too bad , ive had to get refunds a couple of times and its great you have that protection.... It has to be around 50 to 65ish% of the price new to be attractive to me ...seen some great deals sold ..The expensive stuff doesnt get bid on...Facebook was deleted many moons ago 😅
I've used eBay three times and each time I had to request a refund because the listing claimed "good condition" when it was beat up really badly. One drone I bought still had mud all over it and the flight controller was toast. Each sale took weeks to unwind and I had to pay for shipping back to the seller. NEVER AGAIN!
I've bought a few things from FB marketplace, there's definitely some great deals of you're on the lookout. A lot of times beginners buy a bunch of stuff and find out this hobby isnt for them. As long as you pay with Paypal and use good judgment you'll be good
I've been warned numerous time from friends and family regarding buying from FB marketplace, yes it is a risk and good judgement is required, but do your homework and attempt to "vet" the seller" as best you can. Great deals can be had but scammers are more clever than ever.
Yeah, it's really not easy, Albert. Even personally seeing the product isn't easy and you can be surprised afterwards, so... I don't know. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
All sellers think their thing is priceless, all buyers think the stuff is junk.

Always pay with PayPal and use good judgment...if something looks suspicious just stay away

I haven't bought Drones or parts on marketplace. Looking on there though, the prices do seem fairly high in general. Interesting video, thanks Albert.

Just bought a used drone was never flown. Big mistake. Flight controller smoked from the previous owner trying to bind.
Ouch, did you get a refund?
