It's not all doom and gloom, but mint 9 Pokemon cards are certainly in the trenches at the moment. In this video we evaluate the current prices of mint 9 Pokemon cards from modern sets.
thanks for the video. probably worth mentioning that in pretty much all cases you mentioned you would add grading fee and like you said shipping and after that on 9' you pretty much loosing money. That is for someone who flips of course. I just hold so I am not super concerned. Thanks for great info.
Agree with the ending point. Grading is for the fans, so if you want to make money you can't just dismiss the people who enjoy it. As someone who wants to flip newer cards so bad I can't help but think it is a good thing that only 10s are really worth it right now.
Do you think the value of 9s is low because the market is just flooded with them? For anyone who has 9s, in your opinion, do you think the values will rise if people just hold on to them long term?
I think there are a few factors. 1) saturation as you mention is spot on you could see the pop reports in this video 2) scarlet and violets general slow down on the market 3) other tcg’s gaining popularity (one piece/lorcana) And yes, longer term I have faith that 9 values will increase but not at astronomical rate, the pokemon market has retuned to a slow and steady movement pre-pandemic type of swings. Thanks for commenting!
@@spinoutcardsit's also a quality thing, if I buy a a card raw at 50$ from an experienced collector pack fresh is pack fresh and mint but might not be psa 10 worthy or even 9 sometimes so buying a raw card near mint isn't always near mint, but if I can go and buy a psa 9 for the same price or even just a little more it's a better guarantee to be near mint, with the slim possibility of a psa 10 in the future, I've bought near mint cards that are more light play and maybe grade a psa 8, but if I just buy the 9 from the start I eliminate that issue, so if I pull the card and get a 10 so be it, if I still need the card for my collection il buy a 9 for about the same price raw and feel alot better about my purchase
Great video
