I just wanted to say a huge thanks for making this no nonsense clear video on how to do this manually. Especially the tips on saving space by speeding samples up and for how to actually get the samples to stay on the machine!!! I feel privaledged to have clicked you thousandth like:)
This video was most useful video about the subject, which I managed to find from the internet. Can't believe the device manual is so useless as it is on this matter. Drove me mad, when I didn't realize why the samples didn't stay on the device. It's stupid that you can erase even factory samples straight from the sample edit menu tab, but need to jump through the export all sample hoop to save new ones. Anyway, million thanks from the video - You made my day.

Came for the Awesome Electribe Sampler Tutorial stayed for the excellent David Spade impression.... Love how it's still the same as the Korg Volca Sample in sample sizing methodology. We need Vosyr to make a batch conversion method to fill that SD up automatically. Make the app compatible for Sampler too. Thanks for explaining this manual method... going in my favs for reference great job!!!!
I wish it was - drag, drop, load all, save. i got mine week1 and i half expected an editor to ship with it, basically a digital version. the editor ive seen seems iffy ''/ great video, thankyou
@@CygnusOrb Wish I could say the same thing about the AKAI Force, the electribe certainly has it's weird quirks... Not something I'm used to with KORG products.
So I picked up one of these and really love the tweak ability of the effects and hands-on parameters. But one issue I’m running up against. When you are choosing your samples, is there a way you can preview them like on MPC‘s? This would help me out a lot as I am blind. Otherwise, I have to rely on counting the number of clicks that I move the data knob. I have missed stepped in it is annoying. Otherwise, I love this thing.
Thank you for the video. It is hard to find informative videos on electribes. I love messing around with sample machines but I am clueless when it comes to syncing them to other devices and loading samples to them. I got a "format error" when I tried earlier.. I guess it would help if I would have formatted my sd card on the electribe sampler first!
@@CygnusOrb I copied samples from fl studio onto the formatted card and renamed them with a .wav. After insterting SD card into electribe and trying to import the sample I can only get 1 of them to load and the rest throw a format error. It seems like It wants me to dedicate 1 sample to 1 folder. Any tips?
@6:34 is there a way/hack to audition samples b4 loading....bcoz this I cant find and imo is a basic sampler feature. I cant remember how 99 loop samples sound that I created last year... :&
hi is it possible to sample until the memory is full and then 'export all samples' to an sd card ? i do this but the korg crashes every time and i have to pull the main power lead out to power it down. when i switch it back on i am left with the 16 or so wave forms only. thanks in advance
@@CygnusOrb ok brilliant. i am in a dispute with korg about a broken es red i got brand new. thanks so much. i have gathered impressive evidence to prove it is not a user issue
@@CygnusOrb i agree and could never put it better myself. i have looked at the mpc live and will now look again. in your opinion is it easy to do a sample session and store them unlike the korg ? is the step sequencer as good or better ? id love to know a real users opinion
Are you able to tune samples so they’re all in the same key? For example tuning a vocal to drone and vice versa. If so, is this done by ear or is it as simple as selecting the key you want to transpose to?
Hi! Thanks for all the information. When I try to import samples, it says "ERROR MEMORY FULL," but I’ve only loaded 3 samples before. Do you know how I can fix this? Thanks!
@@waynesilverman3048 I believe you are able to leave the SD card in, plug your phone into the Audio In jack, then record a sample and save it to the SD card, yes.
Halo! I added the card format from korg to the sd card, added two new folders to the samples folder, and added new sounds there. But when I open the folders I created in samples, there are no sounds there, although they are displayed on the PC, what could it be?
Hi as soon as I load in the sd card the factory samples dissapear . Is it possible to use my smples and the factory ones as well in the same time? Thanks for your answer!
thank you for this tutorial! super helpful. I still don't have clarity on one thing though...is there not a way to load your own external samples from an SD card ONTO the Korg and have those samples stored on the internal memory in the electribe? Or do you always have to leave your SD card in the slot if you want to use any external samples?
@@fredrikhast nope but I just figured it out through the years. external samples live on the SD card. I've never figured out a way to keep samples on the internal memory (doesn't mean there isn't a way, just haven't found it and didn't see it anywhere else)
Do you have a Link to a beginner’s tutorial using this sampler! I just bought it and I am now trying to figure it out! You atleast taught me how to format the card for starters! Thx, and I appreciate you! Subbed! ❤🙏
Thank you a lot for the video!! It helped me out with some issues I couldn't figure out myself, however some things are still not clear to me (forgive me, I am a hardware noob). I would appreciate it a lot if you could help me out with this! :) 1. Whenever I start the electribe with an SD card inserted, it forgets all the factory samples, is there a way to work around this? 2. When I import a new sample, I have to stop all of the sequencing on the elctribe, this seems to make it a lot harder to make smt with it. 3. I can't apply IFX on my own samples when they are playing, if I press the button it lights up red for a second and then just shuts off. 4. When I load one of my own samples, it takes 2 pads?? (2 pads light up blue) 5. The slots for saving samples start at 501 and go to 999, what about the first 500 slots? Is this where the factory samples are at and if yes, how do I use them? 6. I downloaded that .all file but it doesn't seem to do anything. A lot of questions I'm sorry :/ but I really like the machine and wanna figure out as much as possible. Kind regards, Henk
I'll answer in the order you asked. Hope this helps out. 1. You have to "EXPORT ALL SAMPLES" for the samples to be stored. Once you load everything you want you go into the DATA UTILITY and scroll over to EXPORT ALL SAMPLES. This will create a .all file that will load on boot up. 2. Sadly 2 is just how it is. You have to stop the sequencer while loading samples. Kinda sucks. 3. It might be that there is a motion sequence assigned to the part you are using. When you are on the pad with the sample loaded hit shift and pad 14 to clear the sequence then hold shift and press pad 15 to clear motion sequence. It sounds like a motion sequence was assigned on that part and wasn't cleared. Remember to write your pattern after to save it. 4. If it takes two pads the sample is in stereo. I use Audacity of Goldwave to make all my samples into MONO. This will take one single pad instead of two. Stereo always takes to pads. 5. The first slots are factory samples. The user samples actually start at S01, but it looks like a 5 kind of. It's actually an S. I'm pretty sure it's an S at least. 6. The blank .all file needs to be loaded first. You go into DATA UTILITY and load that up under LOAD ALL SAMPLES. This let's you save the sample sets and load them on the fly. Note on that too, if you do save a sample set you can rename it on your PC. Whenever you save a new set it writes over the .all file you are using. SO renaming them helps you avoid writing over another sample set. Hope that helps you out. Keep jammin!
@@CygnusOrb Thanks for the reply, it did help me out a bunch! Two things ares till unclear tho, number 5 and 6. 5. I'm pretty sure it's a 5 and not an S, because after 'S99' it jumps to 600 :) I just dont understand why there is nothing in the first 499 slots.. AS for 6: I am not going to load all my samples to the electribe 1 by 1, there has to be a way to load them all in once. The e2s.all file really doesn't seem to work for me, it doesn't load anything and there is no LOAD ALL SAMPLES option on my electribe :( Realy=ly sucks to use it now but I feel like it should be easy to fix
To put in short: all the samples have to be loaded one by one and it takes forever, especially considering that once I shut the electribe off it 'forgets' all the loaded samples. I did find the Sample Manager app but it doesn't seem to work out properly yet. Grrrr frustrating :P
@@bonzai1467 The response makes me think you might have the Electribe 2 Synth, not the sampler. In the Upper right hand corner it should say Electribe Sampler if it's the Sampler. If not it just says Electribe. Both of them say the Music Production Workstation thing under it. You might be right about it being 500 instead of S. I wasn't too sure on that. Another way to tell is the color. The Grey or Blue version is a synth, the red or black versions are the samplers. As for the sample loading, there is a program that lets you load them all in order on a computer, then you put the .all file on your memory card along with the samples and load that via the Electribe. I used it before, but had some issues with it. I'll see if I can find the link. It's not a Korg product, it's a third party. It is free to use, no ads or anything.
I'm using the blue Electribe 2 (not the Sampler, I know), and there are only 3 options available within the Data Utility menu, oddly. Absolutely NO card format option, which has me scratching my head. I'm following the instructions exactly from page 14 in the user manual. Also, I made sure to use an SDHC 32 GB card with the switch in the unlocked mode. Am I missing something?
Hey, good video, thanks. Could you explain the 270 sec limit a little more? Does that mean that each sample can be no longer than 270 seconds or does it mean that all samples across the 16 pads can't exceed 270 seconds when added together? Thanks
Thanks. Yeah, the time limit is the maximum amount of time you can load for all samples combined. So one sample at 270s or multiple samples at that same time limit. It's been a few years, I moved up to the MPC family, so I'm trying to remember correctly. When you power on your Electribe it loads into RAM all the sounds and MIDI files you have saved/loaded for your tracks. On the Electribe you could have a dozen songs over all 400 or so available patterns. Obviously one song won't be all 400 patterns. So you may have 5 patterns that make up one song. And that song has 7 samples totalling 10 seconds. Another song may have 10 patterns and 10 samples totalling 30 seconds. So now between those two songs you have used 15 patterns and 40 seconds of sample time. Depending on the length of the samples you could have one project file with a ton of samples or a few if they're longer. I forgot what the project file was called, but you can save multiple project files and rename them on a computer. This allows you to work around the sample time limitation to a degree. Essentially I treated it like this: I'd make an album per project file. All the samples used for all the tracks would be loaded when I loaded the project file. I'd have from 5-8 tracks per album. So I got into the mindset of having multiple project files in order to quickly load sample sets for different albums.
One of the reasons I moved to the MPC was the sample time. On my MPC Live I can load 8 tracks at 5 minutes each before I hit the time limitation. I could have hundreds of samples loaded at any given time. That is really useful for the Keygroup feature of the MPC. On the Electribe to play a piano you'll load one single sample of a piano note. That single sample is sped up or slowed down to give you all the octaves to play a full keyboard. Can actually be real interesting sound super slow too. 😉 On the MPC a keygroup allows you to sample as many or as little notes as possible to get the full octave range. So I could create a piano and each note is a sample for that note. Not being sped up or slowed down. One note=one sample. I can also make a keygroup where it uses a sample every other note, every third, every other octave, etc. So the MPC has much more flexibility in that regard. Having such a massive time allotment to use means I can have a whole piano loaded where every key is it's own sample and still have all my samples for drums, strings, etc. At the cost of two electribes you get 1000x the potential.
I should also mention that on the Electribe a stereo sample takes two pads to use and also takes twice the time. Basically one sample for each channel. One trick people use is to speed up your sample and save time that way. You then pitch it down to get it back where it was. But this does cause it to get a bit noisy if too fast. Degrades the audio. I'd suggest if you're not already on the Electribe and just doing research to check out the MPC One. Not only is your sample potential much greater but it has several synths that come with it, plus the keygroups I mentioned, comes loaded with more factory samples than 100 electribes combined, and has a butt-ton of FX to play with.
@@CygnusOrb Understood, thanks. The mpc one is a little large for what I need. I'm after portable solutions, so I'm looking at a koala on an Ipad and then syncing with the Electribe (music production not sampler) via a midi interface. If that doesn't work then it looks like the 1010 black box is the way to go. Thanks for the insight though, the Electribe sampler definitely won't cut it for me with those restrictions.
@@leojames7331 The MPC one is Smaller than the Electribe. Don't know how it works with an iPad though. Not sure the ports on it either. I know the MPC Live is roughly the same size as the Electribe, just thicker. It has battery built in and USB ports that let you run up to 32 MIDI over USB connections. Again though, no clue how it works with an iPad. I know it's built to work easily with Ableton and it's own software counterpart. You can't do really anything as far as interfacing on the Electribe. You can run the MIDI out to a hub and get all 16 channels on it playing external gear. So it is a sweet sequencer in my eyes. The thing I like the most about the Electribe was that touchpad. It was fantastic playing grooves with. If they made that part into a controller it'd be sweet.
Great video by the way, bought one cause of it. Tho I'm a bit confused as the the sample limit, you said there's a 290 second limit... is that per sample or is it a hard limit on the machine? Thanks in advance.
smokescrean23 the limit is for each bank of samples on the unit. you could load one sample at 290 seconds or many samples to fill that space. you can save multiple pattern sets too. so essentially you can have as many samples as your memory card can hold.
Can you explane how to make and save multiple pattern sets? I can't find it on the internet and this could be the answer to my problems with the constant warning 'memory full'.
When You export the pattern set you get a generic .all file. You can drop this on a computer and rename it. This allows you to have and use multiple sets. If you are getting "Memory Full" that means you have loaded the max amount of samples. Remember, the factory sounds (except the synth parts) all count towards the time available. So if you didn't clear those out you won't have as much time. If you delete some sounds then load some and get the message you have to select "Export All Samples" and then reset the unit. If you delete the sounds it won't register the extra space until after you reload the .all file. You might be able to also select the load sample option and load the .all file to reset the space. For some reason when you delete the sounds you have to save that as a .all and then sort of refresh it. Otherwise it will still think you have that data loaded and gives you the message.
Thanks for the reply. I use the e2sSample.all file to delete the factory sounds. I just cleaned up de SD card and made more folders like you did. And now the problem is solved (for now at least). I am able to import more samples. Yes!
Van der Linden Remember that any time you import samples to save a new .all file before turning off the Electribe. Otherwise you'll have to load them again.
Hi. I have a problem with uploading samples to korg electribe2. I do everything as in the video, after formatting the card there is only the korg->electribe->system folder. nothing more. does not show files of the type (.all). after uploading samples to the card (wav.mono format), korg does not see them. please help.
just bought the electribe sampler red. Followed the steps in your video, everything is great until *Error Format Error* after I press enter. .Wav files, 44.1, 16 bit. Reformatted card, etc.
Hi there, I know this is an old video but I’ve been having an issue with my ES2. When I plug my SD card into my PC, my PC says the sample folder is empty. It pops up in a folder that says KORG, and when I press it it opens up a folder that says electribe sampler, then Sample, but nothing shows up after I press Sample. I already formatted the SD card on the electribe Sorry about any nube terminology and thanks in advance :)
Hi there I want to know how can we make folders in SD to create our samples to play, Can you able to tell me the easiest way to watch or read possible.
I have a problem that I do not understand ... when I import the wav sample from the card it saves it just to use it but if I then turn it off I see that it has not recorded it in the number I had performed ... it would be great if you would make a video because I do not find tuttorial a about
Love this video, thanks. Question: how do one set a pad to trigger a sample while holding only, meaning once one lets go the sample stops immediately. Thanks
@@syous01 don't know if you guys still interested. Go to sample edit and change the numbers in the menu "Sample Loop" from the last point to the first. Now it will act like GATE mode in SP404
What filesystem does the SD card have, once it has been formatted in the Electribe? I'm asking because I want to go to the next music store and try one out, bringing my own SD card with some samples. I'm using Linux and had connectivity issues with some audio hardware before (Yes I'm talking about you, Akai and Behringer), so before spending €€€ I need to be safe the sampler works with Linux or at least has a workaround.
Thanks so much for the super quick response! I figured out how to do it in Audacity. Another quick question if you don't mind? I'm loading in 2x sped up long samples and they are triggering well, but they play over themselves like a delay. I'm hopping to have them be a one shot sample. Also, how do you stop them in mid play? Thanks!!! John
I think what you want to do is go into the menu and scroll to the option that lets you set the part to Mono1/Mono2/Poly1/Poly2 and select Mono1 or Mono2. That way the sound will stop playig when you hit another note. I'm not sure how to get them to stop playing mid play other than using the decay knob. When a long sample is playing and I want it to stop I quickly drop the decay and that stops it from continuing to play. If you want it to stop at a certain point you can alter that in the Sample Edit option by setting the start and end times.
This video might also help you out a bit. Not mine, but a great resource. He does a trick in there where the sound only plays as long as you hold the part button down and stops when you release it. It might be what you are looking for, might not. But I think it can get you started in the right direction. Outside of using the decay knob or the start end point I never really tried playing long samples as one shots that only play while the part button is held down. Hope that helps out a bit. th-cam.com/video/V0GsbIaMbQs/w-d-xo.html
Hi man. Great video. I have a major issue. When ever I import samples, they're in stero and taking up two slots. How do I change it to mono on the electribe? Thanks :D
It's best to convert them using Audacity or another program then load them that way. Goldwav can batch convert all the samples to mono for you, I'm sure Audacity can as well.
Wait, when you say the .all files are sample banks do you mean like shortcuts to having the samples assigned, i.e. different drum kits on ableton. Or are banks in the sense that the samples from one .all file cannot be used when you are using the samples in the current .all file sort of in the way a different sets/projects in ableton
Im following this video step by step. I have some free legowelt samples i want to put on my ES2. I do exactly what you do in the video, but when i go to 'import sample" in data utility, none of the samples are showing up? I then go to put my sd card back in my computer to see the folders and theres nothing there either? Am i missing something?
That's odd. Did you double check the other folders on the SD card to make sure you didn't put them in the wrong folder by mistake? I have not heard of samples vanishing like that except when there might be a corrupt file, which I had before. But you would know because your unit freezes up and you have to pull the plug. I would double check the location you imported it into and make sure it's the right folder. If not Reformat the card from the Electribe then try loading them again. If it still does it check on the Korg forums, there might be something on there in regards to that.
nice tutorial bro! i am looking to purchase one electribe sampler but i am wondering how much is the maximum sample time for one single sample...for example can i import to the electribe a big sample like 270 seconds and play it straight forward? and then can i chain it to another 270second sample and so on?? (in order to play 4,5 mins+ 4,5mins+ + + + + non stop)
I haven't tested the maximum time for a sample, but have loaded mono samples up to 60 seconds long. I'll see if it goes the full 270 and let you know tomorrow.
Great video, thank you but I have a problem. My samples are in Wave format, my E2S recognize them and i can import them but there are no noize when I load it. I can't play my samples while it recognize and loaded in the ES2. Do you know where the problem come from ? Hope you'll remply, thank you !
Perhaps you are loading the sample on a part (pad) that was already being used? So let's say you are wanting to import a sample to part 1. Part 1 already has a sample on there and a pattern. Maybe the volume of part on is down, or there is an FX or Filter that cancels the sound. So check and make sure the filter is off, there are no FX, or anything on that part. Try loading samples on a blank pattern. And I know this sounds like a no brainer, but check that the part you are using isn't muted or the volume is down.
What happens when you turn it on without the memory card? I'm gonna loan my electribe to a friend for a bit but sell it eventually. Does 'factory reset' restore factory samples? Does loading without the SD card load the factory samples and patterns?
Thank you for this good explanation! Actually it seems the Electribe has always a functional problem when you play the samples via the keyboard. I often experience it to play two notes instead of one. The first note I play is ok, but starting with the second, there are always multiple pitches triggered with one pad or midi key. You can hear this very good on long samples like string sounds. Korg changed my whole mainboard, but the problem stays. What's your experience with this?
My first guess is that the sample is being played in chord mode. I am guessing the sample in question is per part, meaning when you trigger (say) pad 1 it plays multiple notes. That would suggest you are playing in Chord mode and not Keyboard mode. That would be my guess.
I'm just starting with electribe, but adding to @Justa Dork try to switch to mono mode for that part, unless you do want multiple samples to play simultaneously.
Good tip. Thanks for adding. I usually switch everything to Mono mode unless I know I will be using it for chords. It's also good for adding that sudden cut at the end of a note change for different styles.
Aaron Buckner Yeah. You can PM me on Facebook "Matthew R Webb Artist". You can also join a great group called Synthesizers and Drum Machines with loads of helpful people. You can also email me artgeekwebb@gmail
Justa Dork i tried to export a full pattern i madre on Electribe in wave.iI font know why it exports only The first parte of four in wave with a fix 2Mb size.do you know how to export all four parts of a pattern in wave please? thanks in advance.
If I remember correctly when you export patterns in WAV it exports each part individually with no MFX on them. If you are trying to export a full pattern it might be best to just record that pattern to your computer and edit from there. It should export everything that is not muted (I think). I believe, could be wrong here, that it won't export the muted parts.

Justa Dork oh I see. I'd really just be looking at dry samples for my purposes but that's good to know. So if the motivation was anything beyond that, I'd be looking at an octatrack or something?
Hi, does anyone know if I backup all the contents of the SD card are all my patterns and samples safe? Also if you took an SD card and put it in another electribe 2 sampler, would it know and be able to play all the songs? Or is there some extra steps? Thanks for the tutorial BTW, used the info in the past
Is there a way i can export the factory samples into the folders on the sd card? I hit export all samples for backup on my sd, however it saves as an .all file and no audio samples. Do you load your own custom samples into your folders? I had to create the folders since they dont show up after first formatting the card
When you "EXPORT ALL SAMPLES" it only exports a file for the Electribe to read. That file loads your sample set to flash memory on loadup. Basically it tells the Electribe what samples to load. If you wanted the samples themselves you could do it, but it would take some work. Either you would go through and manually record each sample or you could assign a sample to a pad. Have only that pad/part unmuted and keep it at 1 bar. There is an option to "EXPORT AUDIO" that exports that pattern as an WAV file. You would have to go in and manually trim all the samples after. When you format the memory card it must be done on the Electribe. It will create a folder called "SAMPLES" where you put your own sounds in. In the SAMPLES folder you will want to create sub folders. For example, I have a folder for loops, hits, bass, voice, etc. The Electribe can only see 100 files in each folder. So if you simply put 200 samples in the SAMPLE folder you would only be able to see and load half of them.
I never use the velocity myself, but you should be able to set the pads to have velocity as well as select a velocity curve in the menu. I'm not sure off the top of my head exactly where it is in the menu, but I know it's in there. As far as the filters, there are filters in the MFX section, you would be able to adjust the settings with the touchpad. I believe the filters are right before the Delays.
Justa Dork I see, so say your memory card had exactly 270 sec worth of samples on there, what I'm wondering is if there's a way to transfer all those to the electribe in one go. And similarly is there a way to wipe those off in one go to load up different samples. It seems a bit of a chore to load the one by one, thanks.
Til Top oh, I see. There are some sample managers that can let you load them on your PC and you save the .all file and that works. I can't remember the name of the programs, but there is an Electribe Group on Facebook that is pretty helpful and knows. Try Google searching "Electribe Sampler Manager". It was pretty easy to 7se if I remember. Another quick way is to save your samples labeled by number in the order you want to load them, then you can quickly load them manually. So if you did 01Drum, 02 Snare, 03 Strings and so on. It would allow you to do manual loading pretty swiftly.
Til Top I actually found the sample manager. It will let you save them in the order you want on your computer. You then put the .all file on your memory card along with the samples and you should be set. I found it takes just as long though. At least it did for me. Because you have to order and arrange them, but I believe you can just load a bunch at once and save that. appification.de
Hi, Thank you for video, but I have problem with Unknow error durring load of my sample file if load more then 5 sample. Can you help me with this problem ?
What is the problem exactly? Are you getting a screen that says unknown error or just an error and you don't know what it is? What are the steps you are doing right before you get an error? I'd be glad to try to help if you can provide me with a few more details.
nemesis3484 I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. After you restart are your samples gone? If so make sure you use "Export All Samples" before turning it off. This will save them.
Im continuing "export all samples" to save samples on an .all file set, but everytime I reboot the machine starts with the samples saved, problem is they are saved in the e2sampler.all file and not in the .all file I imported. Can u help find out why?
So you create a custom sample set and it loads the factory default? When you export all samples it should load that file when you power on. By chance did you move it from it's folder or anything? Might be that it needs to be in the right folder to load. Have you tried loading the .all file manually? Is it the same as what you saved? If you kept the factory samples and loaded your own your samples will be at the end of the list. Meaning you scroll through all the factory samples first to get to yours, or you scroll backwards to get to yours first? The other thing I would think is it might not be reading the memory card. Perhaps try formatting another card on the Electribe and put your .all on there and see if it has the same problem. I once had a memory card that was corrupted and it looked like it worked, but wasn't being read right on startup. When I changed cards it stopped being a problem.
Cygnus Orb it doesnt load back the factory, but just the actual condition of the last "export all samples" on the set. Since in a set (loaded from one of my .all files) i decided not having any factory sounds, it showed up only the last samples I loaded in the previous session
It would be cool if i could audition samples. I have to know exactly what my samples are by memory and it doesn’t make it easy to have a larger sample library. Filling up a 32gb card would be completely useless
Ok. Im at almost to the end of my rope. I cannot get my AIFF samples onto my electribe. Formatted the card on the ES2, added the files on my desktop under the sample folder but nothing appears once I place it back into the ES2. I'm using a MAC. Please help.
Justa Dork well its three am and Im pretty frustrated with Korg. Seems like they just said fuck it. Not going to work on this anymore. Loading samples isnt too hard, but storing them individually is not so nice. My last question is once you save an all sample file, will I continue to be able to update that file, or will I have a million versions of each update?
***** It will overwrite the old one each time. So if you don't want it altered you have to rename the .all file. Any factory named fle will be overwritten each time you save it. So you can add to the .all file and update it till you get to where you want.
I just wanted to say a huge thanks for making this no nonsense clear video on how to do this manually. Especially the tips on saving space by speeding samples up and for how to actually get the samples to stay on the machine!!! I feel privaledged to have clicked you thousandth like:)
Thanks so much for the details. The export-all step is so important!
This video made my day. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Still the best tutorial in 2022! Thanks!
Did you succeed? It happens to me that the korg sees them but I have no way to load them

Superb description, thank you for the clarity!!!
Thanks for checking it out.
Great information. Thanks! I just got Electribe Sampler and this is very helpful.
Hope you have loads o fun with it.
you are the best !
Outstanding video 🤝Thank you very much 🙌🏻
Came for the Awesome Electribe Sampler Tutorial stayed for the excellent David Spade impression....
I am new with electribe sampler but seems this will help me a lot!:D
thank you very much for the video!
@@CygnusOrb thats a terrible oversight by Korg not even addresed in the updated OS :/
hi is it possible to sample until the memory is full and then 'export all samples' to an sd card ? i do this but the korg crashes every time and i have to pull the main power lead out to power it down. when i switch it back on i am left with the 16 or so wave forms only. thanks in advance
@@CygnusOrb ok brilliant. i am in a dispute with korg about a broken es red i got brand new. thanks so much. i have gathered impressive evidence to prove it is not a user issue
@@CygnusOrb i agree and could never put it better myself. i have looked at the mpc live and will now look again. in your opinion is it easy to do a sample session and store them unlike the korg ? is the step sequencer as good or better ? id love to know a real users opinion
great vid. Really clear.
Thanks.
Are you able to tune samples so they’re all in the same key? For example tuning a vocal to drone and vice versa. If so, is this done by ear or is it as simple as selecting the key you want to transpose to?
oh my god, cowboy eres the best, machine! nos has arreglao la tarde.
Thanks very helpful GOD BLESS YOU
Hi! Thanks for all the information. When I try to import samples, it says "ERROR MEMORY FULL," but I’ve only loaded 3 samples before. Do you know how I can fix this? Thanks!
The sample slots start with 5, not with S, and go to 999 so you can do 500 samples. Really helpful video though, thank you!
My memory cards already in my e2s.So can u start by not taking your sd card and then start sampling as I wanna sample from my phone
@@waynesilverman3048 I believe you are able to leave the SD card in, plug your phone into the Audio In jack, then record a sample and save it to the SD card, yes.

Super clear thanks for that dude, good work!

Halo! I added the card format from korg to the sd card, added two new folders to the samples folder, and added new sounds there. But when I open the folders I created in samples, there are no sounds there, although they are displayed on the PC, what could it be?

Hi
How do I save my work on the card?
Great video. I am having a problem formatting the sd card. It says that the card write is protected. Any thoughts?
thank you for this tutorial! super helpful. I still don't have clarity on one thing though...is there not a way to load your own external samples from an SD card ONTO the Korg and have those samples stored on the internal memory in the electribe? Or do you always have to leave your SD card in the slot if you want to use any external samples?
I have the same question, did you get any answers anywhere else?
@@fredrikhast nope but I just figured it out through the years. external samples live on the SD card. I've never figured out a way to keep samples on the internal memory (doesn't mean there isn't a way, just haven't found it and didn't see it anywhere else)
awesome video, Im still having problems getting a blank.all file to load my samples in, where is the best place to get one?-thanks

Thanks for checking it out.
(2 pads light up blue)
Kind regards,
Henk
The e2s.all file really doesn't seem to work for me, it doesn't load anything and there is no LOAD ALL SAMPLES option on my electribe :(
Realy=ly sucks to use it now but I feel like it should be easy to fix
Here it is. appification.de/ElectribeSampleManager/
How do you load the sample banks (.all files) from the Electribe?
thank you for your time very helpfull!
Approximately how many samples would you be able to fit on the electribe without the factory samples?
Can you audition the sounds on the SD card while in the menu? Its a bummer loading, exiting the menu, assigning to a track, and playing.
@Unknown Human The Korg site has them under their support section.
Which getting you input lag
On the MPC a keygroup allows you to sample as many or as little notes as possible to get the full octave range.
You can load mp3 or wav?? And you can do a session live only with the electribe and no computer???
just bought the electribe sampler red. Followed the steps in your video, everything is great until *Error Format Error* after I press enter. .Wav files, 44.1, 16 bit. Reformatted card, etc.
Hi there,
I know this is an old video but I’ve been having an issue with my ES2.
When I plug my SD card into my PC, my PC says the sample folder is empty.
It pops up in a folder that says KORG, and when I press it it opens up a folder that says electribe sampler, then Sample, but nothing shows up after I press Sample. I already formatted the SD card on the electribe
Sorry about any nube terminology and thanks in advance :)

Hey can you please make a video on the sample slicing feature and sample editing? Cheers
I can give it a whirl this weekend and see if I can do a one.
what is the name of the audio format adapted for the sounds to be imported? WAV 24bit?
I have a problem that I do not understand ... when I import the wav sample from the card it saves it just to use it but if I then turn it off I see that it has not recorded it in the number I had performed ... it would be great if you would make a video because I do not find tuttorial a about
Love this video, thanks. Question: how do one set a pad to trigger a sample while holding only, meaning once one lets go the sample stops immediately. Thanks
did you ever figure this out?
Great video! Thanks so much. Quick question, how do I speed up, shorten and save my samples before I upload them to the Electribe?
John Caban I use Goldwav or you can use Audacity on PC and Mac.

Check out this video, I learnt how to do it there. It's the first section.

Cygnus Orb thanks dude
Great vid dude!
Great video! how do I load a sample to a single pad? when I load the sample it goes on 2 pads that trigger at the same time.
I'll see if it goes the full 270 and let you know tomorrow.
aaah ok thanks!
Seems to work for me so far. Remember, stereo samples take up double the time.
Thank you 😮
Hi,
Is there away to get the osc and filters from the electribe 2s to the electribe sampler ....
Like a .all file.
What happens when you turn it on without the memory card? I'm gonna loan my electribe to a friend for a bit but sell it eventually. Does 'factory reset' restore factory samples? Does loading without the SD card load the factory samples and patterns?
Yeah, it should just load up the factory defaults if I remember.
Great video. Thanks for the help! I have a few more in depth questions about looping a sample ... is there a way to contact you?
Aaron Buckner Yeah. You can PM me on Facebook "Matthew R Webb Artist". You can also join a great group called Synthesizers and Drum Machines with loads of helpful people. You can also email me artgeekwebb@gmail
Is there any chance to listen a preview during the selection of the sample on SD card before importing in in the part of pattern?
Thanks
No. Sadly not. That is why I categorize my samples.
Where can I find the clear preset patterns download?

Thanks man.
Justa Dork oh I see. I'd really just be looking at dry samples for my purposes but that's good to know.
So if the motivation was anything beyond that, I'd be looking at an octatrack or something?
Alex Gordon
I thought that too myself, but then started playing around with the FX, Modulation, Filters and so on, then found I love them so much.
What did you use to speed up your samples?
Hi,
Do you know how to use velocity for the drums and is there eq for master track ?
I never use the velocity myself, but you should be able to set the pads to have velocity as well as select a velocity curve in the menu. I'm not sure off the top of my head exactly where it is in the menu, but I know it's in there. As far as the filters, there are filters in the MFX section, you would be able to adjust the settings with the touchpad. I believe the filters are right before the Delays.
When I follow your steps and import a sample it only plays for 1 second-ish. What should I do?
can i do the same on the Blue one? i'm not sure
Thanks man this was really helpful going to give it a go when my sample cd turns up next week ...hit you with a sub as well🤘
At the end you were able to save all the samples from the SD in one go?
Til Top My memory card has something like 30 minutes worth of samples. The E2S can hold 270 seconds.

Justa Dork wow, thanks! I'll likely give both of the methods a go and see which one is quicker for me
Hi, Thank you for video, but I have problem with Unknow error durring load of my sample file if load more then 5 sample. Can you help me with this problem ?
What is the problem exactly? Are you getting a screen that says unknown error or just an error and you don't know what it is? What are the steps you are doing right before you get an error? I'd be glad to try to help if you can provide me with a few more details.
you can also format the SD on your pc. As long as you format it on FAT32. Worked for me at least
Also how can Rythem loop use continuously by one single pad play
hello when you restart korg , you can sample starting or must you all sample new install pls help
nemesis3484 I'm not sure I understand what you are asking.
Exported all files and always writed the parts
Cygnus Orb all my .all files have been loaded manually with the computer
Cygnus Orb SOLVED!! In a tedious way but its better than nothing..thanks!
Can i record samples whit a microphone through the audio in jack?
It would be cool if i could audition samples. I have to know exactly what my samples are by memory and it doesn’t make it easy to have a larger sample library. Filling up a 32gb card would be completely useless
Ok. Im at almost to the end of my rope. I cannot get my AIFF samples onto my electribe. Formatted the card on the ES2, added the files on my desktop under the sample folder but nothing appears once I place it back into the ES2. I'm using a MAC. Please help.
James Watson Use WAV files. Convert them to 16bit 44k mono wave files. I think you can go as high as 48k if you wanted.
Justa Dork Thanks. That was it.
***** Awesome. Once you get all up and running you will have fun with it.
*****
It will overwrite the old one each time. So if you don't want it altered you have to rename the .all file. Any factory named fle will be overwritten each time you save it. So you can add to the .all file and update it till you get to where you want.
When I try to format the card, this don't work, error card.. What I have to do in these case?
