  • Kawhi Leonard is widely known as one of the greatest defensive talents in NBA history. He has won two defensive player of the year awards and is regularly selected to be on the All defensive team. His defense these past couple of years has slipped from defensive player of the year status but he is still regarded as one of the top defenders in the league. This video is a breakdown of Kawhi Leonard's amazing lockdown defense. It looks at the tips and tricks he employs to dominate on the defensive end and provides factual information and video proof as to why people should start calling him the clamp god. He has locked up Lebron and Giannis on route to winning his rings for goodness sake!

And due to his defense, it frustrates players causing them to force shots.

FACTS, he plays at such a high level on the offensive and defensive end. The only other players I can think of are AD and Giannis

Make one about Rondo, who has the same APE INDEX (wingspan to height ratio), he is 6ft1 with a 6ft9wingspan and 10inches wide Hands … Todays game is different than in the 90´s and 2000´s, the pace is faster, their are more space because of 3pts shooting so big men like Tacko fall, who are bench players now would have been top players back in the days.
But in this era, we understood that a guy who is 6ft7 with a 7ft3 wingspan basically have the same standing reach as a 7footer, but he is way faster and can jump higher, so he can cover more space in less time than a Yao Ming.
Believe me if you put the best defenders of todays like Kawhi, Giannis, Lebron, AD, Ben Simmons, Dwight howard, Gobert, Embiid, Rondo, Jrue holidays, Paul George, Tatum ect in the 90´s/2000’s, they would absolutely dominate them, their combination of height, wingspan, speed, agility, strenght and also hands size for some would be just too much and with the hand check, it would be to easy for them.
If Kawhi can do the things he do in this era, with the most skilled and athletic players of all time, then he would average 5 steals and 5 Block in the 90´s, Kawhi is a 1inche taller and 20pounds heavier MJ, he would kill fucking Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone or Clyde drexler lol. Only players of the 90´s that would be elite in today era would be MJ and Olajuwon because of their skills, and Shaq just because of his athleticism.
All the other MVP like Karl Malone, Charles Barkley and David Robinson, they would be Julius Randle, a 30pounds lighter Zion Williamson and Hassan Whiteside in this era lol. When you compare these 3 MVP to Curry, Giannis, Harden, Westbrook and D.Rose, it’s clear that prime MJ played in a very basic era with no skilled players, just tall and strong guys, but you know what, in this era we have tall and strong guys, but they are also skilled, fast and agile.
Don’t believe me ? Just go on youtube and watch the best highlights of Karl Malone, Charles barkley and David robinson and compare them to highlights of Curry, Giannis, Harden, Westbrook and D.Rose … Like i said only Olajuwon, the 4th with an MVP in the 90´s can be compared to todays players, his footwork and agility for a 7footer was ahead of his time, just like MJ and Shaq, but all the other wouldn’t be better than Karl Anthony towns or 20 yo Zion Williamson.
