Just amazing! Way to go Jose! Last time it happened was 72 years ago! The probability of a .328 hitter (Jose's current average) getting 12 hits in a row is .328^12 = 0.00000155, which is about 1 in 645,000. When he started the streak, his average was about .290, for a probability of .290^12 = 0.000000354, which is about 1 in 2.8 million!
That's why baseball is so beautiful!!

Deserves more attention
I went to the game July 6th where he got the 12th hit. I can only afford 2 or 3 games a year to attend in person. I will always remember this. It was exciting and to think the last time this was accomplished was 1952. Long before Mantle/ Maris home run battle, long before Killebrew or Hrbek or Puckett. 1952. Yay Jose!! Three cheers!!!

They didn't show it on this video, but the streak ended at 12. His attempt to get hit number 13 ended when he hit a ground ball just wide of first base by about a foot. He then hit a lazy fly ball that was easily caught, and the streak ended.

This dude can hit i was big on him in the minors for his power along with low strike out rate and he had a good rookie year but really struggled last year specially defensively he got sent back down and kinda forgot about because of royce lewis but he got the call this year and been to good with a bat to get sent back down and lookin like the player i saw a few years ago in tripple A
He got injured last year since ST. Never easy to play like that. But the year before he had a great rookie year!

What is "The Expansion Era"?
1961-Present. Last time a player did this was 1952, only 3 players had ever done it. Miranda is the 4th
1961-Present. Google it for more information...but coincidentally, 1961 was the year the Washington Senators moved to Minnesota. It's weird little stuff like this that makes me love baseball.
MLB added several new franchises in 1961. The Angels, Mets, Houston Astros, and the Washington Senators. That's also when they expanded the season from 154 games to 162 games.

“12 hits in consecutive at-bats” makes it sound like Miranda got twelve hits in one at-bat and then twelve more hits in a second, adjoining at-bat. Absolutely horrific butchery of the English language. Whatever intern wrote this title obviously meant to write “Hits in twelve consecutive at-bats.”
