We love the Westin Lagunamar. Have been there many times in all the different unit sizes from the studio all the way up to the two bedroom villa. The best thing is just about every room there has a great view of the pools and water. Also can't beat the location, right in the heart of the Hotel Zone with so much shopping and dining right across the street at La Isla Shopping Mall. Thanks for sharing!
You are so correct! It was our first timeshare experience and we highly recommend it for people who want a go to place. As you said it’s centrally located and the product is great for what you pay for.
Interesting to see your perspective of the timeshare presentation with Vistana. We have done a few while at the Westin Lagunamar and they have generally been low key and low pressure for us. Of course we already own in the Vistana system and also a couple of Marriott Vacation Club weeks. The timeshare packages to buy are very expensive, buying resale is much better. You can buy a week at the Westin Lagunamar for a few thousand vs the tens of thousands they want to charge you. They actually have three types of rooms. The queen bed studio connects to the one bedroom king room to make a full two bedroom villa. So you can reserve three different sizes. Very flexible.
Yeah, our presentation was quite aggressive. Granted it was our first time and we were first time visitors so we didn’t know what to expect. We will definitely check out your videos of the other places. We really enjoyed the property, but wanted to check out the other properties before we fully commit.
They are! We highly recommend checking the place if you ever go to Cancun. I'm sure you have been there before! We definitely made the experience super affordable. Hope you guys were able to get some of our traveling tips out of it.
Yeah!! Don't be nervous. Just be smart about your preparations for flying. It is a great property and close to everything! Nice mall just across the street! Let us know if you have any questions we can answer for you!
Thanks! It was honestly a great deal! We're hoping more people take up opportunities like this to really save on their vacation time. Hope you guys are well!
Thank you!! I love your review - especially including the laundry. i'll be coming back with clean clothes. hahaha how did you book the timeshare presentation? thinking of going soon! LOL
Thanks so much! I'm glad our review gave you some insights about the property and its perks! You have NO IDEA, how much of a luxury it is to be able to do laundry in your own villa/room. We were actually signed up by default in the mailing list through the Marriott website, and saw the offer via email, so we took it! Honestly, paying $269 for 5D4N at this resort is an incredible deal! Even when we were required to sit through the 2 hour presentation.. Try signing up for the mailing list below.. Also no harm asking if they have any promo available now.. www.vistana.com/request-information www.marriottvacationclub.com/request-information/ Be sure to check out Hilton Vacation club too, they have similar promotions like these. Hope this helps!
Thank you for the lovely comment Rina! Wedee is very happy to be doing this and sharing our experiences of hotels as well as adventure around the world. We hope you consider subscribing and checking out more of our videos
Sorry. I also meant to ask. What drone are you using? I am looking to invest in one but there are so many options. Did they give you a hard time when trying to bring it in to Mexico? Or did you not have to go through a customs search?
We use the DJI Mavic 2. It’s really nice and works super well. If you want to see what happened to us, we actually posted a vlog about our entrance into Mexico. It was so insane because we had been to Mexico a few times and this was the first time we got into trouble. There are pros and cons to the different drones, it really depends on how you fly and what you need out of it. The mini is really popular right now.
Hello! This property is a timeshare hotel, however, there is a wing that is open to the public and Marriott Bonvoy Members. The rooms that are available to the public may be a little smaller and have a slightly different layout. You have the option to choose and watch the timeshare which can help discount the price of the room, but you must have received a letter from MARRIOTT inviting you to participate. The resort is a great location across from the mall and center of Hotel Zone! Many things to do and enjoy!
Thanks for the love! Be sure to subscribe and watch our other fun videos! We hope that this was helpful because so many people want to travel for cheap and this is a great way to do it.
The studio looks so spacious! Did you use the kitchen? We love staying at places that include a kitchen as we enjoy cooking our own dinners 😊 Never heard of the Timeshare thing and it sounds rather strange but it's cool that it allowed you to get this great deal 👍
Yeah! We used every bit of it. We cooked so many delicious foods and we also used the Pool, worked out in the gym, wandered the grounds and tried out their breakfast at the restaurant. A really great deal. We highly recommend it for people who want a nice vacation home.
Yah! You should. We have so many videos coming out soon on how we get free upgrades and also find amazing cheap deals while we travel! Found you guys on Instagram too! Let's connect!
Hey Dewayne! No Problem! Please let us know if you have any questions regarding the property. There is a nice mall literally across the street which has all the shops and foods that you could wish for. We made a video about Tacos in CANCUN so in case you needed a recommendation, it's there :) All walking distance from that property too. Or close.
Been there, love the location, don’t love that it’s not a full service resort. Definitely a timeshare vibe...and I don’t need a whole kitchen while on vacation, cause I don’t plan to cook. I did like the little 7-11 type store and Starbucks at the property. Convenient
Hey Jazzy! I agree, cooking on vacation is probably not the best idea, but for us who travel full time, it was nice to get a homecooked meal. Out of the resorts in the area, it was one of the easiest to get to the mall which is awesome! When did you go?
@@jazzyflorida3757 Nice we were there in 2019 and it was convenient like you said! We also tried out the Renaissance just up the road and it was connected to a Mall which was also really lovely. That area changes so much!
Before we checked in, the front desk agent had to schedule an appointment for us to meet a representative any time during our stay - we get a choice of 15,000 points or $150 credit after we complete the presentation. Once confirmed, we arrived at the showroom on the date of our presentation. The atmosphere is very relaxed and professional. The rep mostly ask us questions about our vacations style and travel habits. The presentation could have ended a lot faster if we were clear that we weren't interested, but I probe along, because they offer plenty of packages for a tonnes of points, as long as you are willing to spend a lot of money for the timeshare. Went through along, meeting his manager, followed by another rep, before we were given time to rethink our decision. We ended spending close to 2.5 hours, and decided not to go forward with investing, since our travel pattern are not similar to most vacationers that only frequent a few places per year. If you are interested for more details, we have pamphlets on the timeshare details we can share with you..
This video has definitely convinced me to take my offer here for 4 nights! Thank you for sharing your experience 🙂 Were there any hidden fees in the booking of this over the $299 price tag?
Hey! Glad that our video could provide you some insights to the resort. Based our experience, nope, no hidden fees. It's an incredible deal IMO. You just have to agree to sit through the 2 hour presentation some time during your stay, and they'll credit you the 15k bonvoy points (not sure if they changed this), and the entire 4 nights is your vacay to enjoy! The sales team is very respectful if you are firm on that you are not interested in any time share investment, they won't use any unscrupulous pressure tactics. FYI, if you have elite status, don't expect any benefits though. Because this is a promotional rate, you won't get comp breakfast, early/late checkin/out. So expect to check in at 4pm, and check out at 11am/12pm.
Thank you so much for your nice comment! The hotel is literally on the beach. If you look from the drone shots it's all walkable and many of the nice rooms have beach views if you ask for higher floors for better views!
Thank you so much! Please be sure to subscribe! We were supposed to be in Phippines right now, hopefully we can go once Covid is over. Will check out your videos now too!
How much points did you guys start with?? Im curious if we got a good package or not. Might cancel because of a lot of videos saying its a scam but now i watched you guys i feel otherwise
Hey Danielle, we actually paid cash for this and not with points. What was the package you got? We stayed there for 5 nights and really enjoyed it. Our package required us to attend a sales pitch which wasn't too bad at all. Let me know how I can help you.
Glad you didn't buy into the Timeshare sales pitch. I have had a Timeshare with Wyndham for over more years than I care to admit. What they don't emphasize in the monthly maintenance fees you get stuck with. I wish I could dump mine but I've already put to much into it just to walk away. The Timeshare is cool as it is like a real apartment with all the amenities but in the long run it isn't worth it.

You only need to do the presentation 1 time during your entire stay. It usually will not last longer than 1.5-2hours if you are firm with saying no.
