I worked in a hospital and one of my good friend was a microbiologist. He said the reason why your shoes/sneakers stink is because of the microbes that lives in your shoes giving off the foul smelling odors. He demonstrated this by swabing between my toes with a q-tip and placed it in an incubator dish and told me to come back in 24 hours. When i came back, he opened the dish and asked me to sniff, I almost passed out! The cure to killing the microbes was to place the shoes in the freezer for two days. When I changed over from a top loading washing machine to a front loader, I was told to wipe down the door and rubber gasket when I did my last load for the day. What they didn’t mention is that the dispenser that holds the detergent, softener, and bleach can harbor mold and mildew if air doesn’t circulate in the crevice. The first time I removed it I was shocked to see black mold- not a lot- on the bottom of the drawer and deeper into the machine. After cleaning it thoroughly and disinfecting the cavity, I now push a little release button that lets me remove the drawer and empty the water left in the cups into the sink. Then I take an old small towel and dry where the drawer is. Finally, I leave the dispenser drawer out to dry until my next laundry day. You don’t have to do this after every wash, only after the last one for the day. My drawer comes apart in different sections. Take them apart to dry. Most people do their very best to keep a clean house and clean clothes. I hope this helps anyone else who was unaware of the problem. Get a cheese shaker, like what is used in pizza shops. Put Baking Soda(a.k.a Sodium Bicarbonate) in. Add ground Cloves. Place plastic wrap over the mouth of the container. Put the lid on shake well. Remove plastic wrap and replace the lid. Sprinkle over your carpet and let it sit for at least five minutes. Vacuum. Put the plastic wrap back over the container and replace the lid as this keeps the remaining carpet deodorizer fresh longer. Baking Soda: Deodorizes. Clove: Antibacterial.
I take a small amount of baking soda, mix in a few drops of essential oils. Sprinkle lightly on your carpet AND take a dry kitchen broom and "sweep" the baking soda down into the carpet. Let stand for 10 or 15 minutes, then vacuum VERY WELL! You will be amazed how much extra dirt adheres to the baking soda and gets swept away

I have a tip that I have used for years to clean inside trash cans. (I hope I don't attacked because I use a certain product that everyone will say I shouldn't because of something they heard is bad 🤷♀️🤦♀️) Anyway here it is: I use a strong scented box of carpet sprinkles. I found the best one is the Arm and Hammer carpet sprinkles for pets scent. (I like the scent for pet odors. It's is my favorite because it lasts longer. I DO NOT use it on my carpet before vacuuming, though.) I always make sure all my garbage/trash cans are clean and dry first😉. The bathroom and kitchen ones (plastic) I clean them well with bleach and a sponge in the shower. I let them set for about 30 minutes. Then, I rinse them with the shower spray running, to rinse every nook and cranny. (I happen to have a hand held shower head which makes the task easier. But if you don't have one, just keep rotating the trash can under the shower spray until all is clean and rinsed well.) Let dry in the tub, if you can't dry them in the sun. For the bathroom: When they are all completely dry and ready to use, on the inside bottom of the trash can, I put a layer of paper towels. Then sprinkle the Arm and Hammer vacuum sprinkles for Pet Odors on top of the paper towels. Then I cover the sprinkles with another layer of paper towels. Then, I cover that with a loose half unwrapped garbage bag, opened just enough to cover the bottom of the can. Now it is ready, to put in, as usual, an opened regular trash bag and tuck the ends around the rim so the top keeps it in place until you need to change it. Then I put a few more sprinkles inside the bottom of the garbage bag before it's used. For the kitchen: I use the above procedure plus one more step. (Note: Again, make sure they are completely dry!) I start out the same. Continue as above except before the last step of putting the garbage bag around the rim, I first put a larger sized garbage bag in first, pulled over the outside rim of the trash can. Secure on the outside with a bungee strap or ~ I prefer to use clear packing tape and tightly wrap around larger bag around the outside of the trash can, to hold in place for a longer time. Then I continue as above, by finally putting a kitchen sized trash bag inside and pull the top of the trash bag over the larger secured trash bag, around the top rim and sprinkle the carpet sprinkles inside. Now you are ready to put on the top of the trash can. WA - LAH! Your bathroom and kitchen smell nice! 👉Just a Note: When bag is full, change only the top trash bag as usual leaving the rest intact. *IT SAVES A LOT OF TIME and a lot of cleaning trash cans! No need to take everything out each time you change the trash bag. Everything should still be clean and sealed. Just put in one kitchen trash bag as usual on top of the secured trash bag. Don't forget to add carpet sprinkles!😉 After several uses, (4 to 6 months) you can just take, everything out, (paper towels with sprinkles and put everything inside the trash bag you layered at the bottom). Wipe out and repeat the process for another several months until ready to wash with bleach. Sounds like a lot, but really it's not. It took me longer to type the directions than it takes to actually do it!!😊

I am not washing out my trash can every time I empty the trash can. The entire point of using a trash liner/bag is to NOT HAVE TO DO THIS. Life is short people.
Here here! If my trash can stinks after taking out the trash, I set it open outside in the sun for a bit to air it out before bringing it back inside and lining it with a new bag.

🙋🏼♀️Hi Everybody, I have some onion tips for anyone who’s interested. When you cut onions and don’t want to cry, set a table top fan or any small fan near where you are cutting the onion and point it toward your face or the onion you are cutting, you will NEVER cry again while cutting one. Also, I try to NEVER put a cut onion in my refrigerator because not only does it smell up the refrigerator but it also makes my ice (and any drink I put it in) in the freezer taste like onion 🧅, YUCK !🤢 if you notice, onions just don’t taste the same once you cut and store them anyway, but if you must, the best way to do it is to wrap it in foil and then put it in a ziplock bag. It’s best to use it the same day you cut it otherwise onions getting this funky old taste to them. I hope this helps 😁👍 Stay Well and Stay Safe everyone. BLESS YOU ALL, Dee 😊
I was told that you should never save your extra onion...especially do not put it in your refrigerator. It's toxic after you have used it and the toxins will get into your other foods. 🤷♀️ just what I was told. I've refrained from doing so every since.

BadBoyD TV *No-BS Empowerment Channel* great tip... I’m going to use it in my garage... I lost my mother and have things from her storage shed in there. Smells just like my grandmothers old basement....
Besides pets that live in the house, a major source of household stink is the kitchen garbage can. People throw bottles, jars and cans in there that have residual food in them which then spoils and smells. Better to prevent odors than spend time and money trying to cover them up. People use the garbage can when they should be using the in-sink disposal. Unless you like a smelly house taking a few seconds to wash out jars and cans with a little soap, water and a brush and letting them dry before throwing in your garbage can will prevent a major source of odors as well as help control ant and roach pests. It's a no-brainer.
I mean just cleaning a lot doesn’t always help. My house is cleaned everyday and sometimes a smell comes up that is soooo difficult to get rid of. Like garbage, or basement - sometimes from the cloth diapers between laundry loads. So it all cannot be avoided just by cleaning a lot. Especially if you have babies.
I've used empty spice jars filled with coffee beans. Open just the outer lid and shake the bottle of coffee beans. Company said it smelled like fresh coffee. (I don't drink coffee or I'd just brew some.)
Dishwasher. I once ran out of dishwasher detergent and decided to use bleach. I just put some bleach on the dw door. Surprisingly, the dishes and glasses came out like new, also the dishwasher.
Another great tip with Baking Soda...Instead of using CHEMICAL BASED Carpet Fresh (The powder) use the Baking Soda instead. *It is *100% safe around children and pets, but the carpet fresh powders are not!* The Baking Soda LITERALLY EATS AWAY ALL THE ODORS, AND DOESN’T PUT A FAKE SMELL THROUGH OUT THE HOUSE AND CARPET, BUT NO SMELL, LIKE, A PURE CLEAN FRESH HOUSE SMELL, OF COURSE AS LONG AS THERE ISN’T SOMETHING ELSE CAUSING ODORS, BUT USE BAKING SODA FOR PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING. EVEN SPRINKLE IT AT HE BOTTOM OF THE TRASH CAN, THEN OCCASIONALLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY, OR HOWEVER LONG YOU KEEP YOUR TRASH BAG UNTIL TAKING IT OUT, JUST TAKE A COUPLE TEASPOONS AND SPRINKLE IT ON TOP OF THE TRASH, AND IT SOAKS UP THE LIQUIDS THAT CAUSE ODORS, AND ELIMINATES ANY OTHERS...YOU CAN EVEN PUT SOME IN YOUR TOILET, ADD VINEGAR AND THEN FLUSH IT DOWN THE TOILET OR RINSE IT DOWN THE SINKS, AND IT KEEPS IT FROM CLOGGING UP, ANNND EATS ODORS THAT GROW IN THE PIPES...HOPE THIS HELPED SOMEONE...But I promise it really does eliminate all smells🙂. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS, LOL...HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY, EVERYONE ❤️☺️♥️

A little logic goes a long way!
opening the kitchen widow while she's cooking can cause other problems like if she has a knife in her hand... oh wait.. you meant window haha
Do not put essential oils on toilet paper tube! Some essential oils may soak into the paper and can be irritating to ...sensitive areas! Plus if your house smells like stinky armpits you have a bigger problem that no amount of dryer sheets can fix! hhh
Yeah I agree! I have sensitive skin.
Thank you for your information in house cleaning specially frying fish.

You too friend
the dryer sheet idea was amazing lol thanks.
Those tips are very informative and I'm sure I'll use many of them. I thought you change the baking soda in the fridge once a month....not once a year as stated in the video. Thank you for those awesome tips and solutions to stinky house challenges.
Yeah I change it once a month
Yea. I change mine monthly. It says monthly on the box.
It removes smells? Only from items kept inside the fridge?
Great tricks 😃 I actually knew most of them but always fail to remember 😂
Thanks for the great tips. One thing i do is light candles makes smells go away, takes a few hours.
Try cleaning...

Bad for asthma
Try a humidifier! Add some essential oils and it works faster.
Wouldn’t the baking soda absorbs the essential oils???
Just curious.
@@logan5326 yes, it absorbs it but it does not neutralize the scent. You now have lavender scented baking soda to brush into the carpet
Dryer sheets are toxic ... don't use them in the dryer or around your house!!! Nana used to sprinkle cinnamon in an iron skillet and warm it up to take odors out of the kitchen:)
So are cigarettes and drugs.
Gatta try this
Finally a video with useful information.
You should never use bleach on tile grout. I am a tile professional, bleach makes grout crumble.
... please, so what should be used instead?
Any kind of cleaner that doesnt contain bleach is fine. They have special cleaners at the hardware store, or a vinegar water mix.

Thanks for the info! Bc I do use bleach contained sprays for the tile in bathroom.
Thank you so much! I will definitly switch to using that instead.

Thank you so much for these tips! I purchased a condo and I am trying to get rid of "old house smell". So far, tried to wash walls with white vinegar solution: had a liitle effect. Next step: carpet.
Love these ideas to keep areas cleaned in home!
How did I miss this video when it came out? Brilliant!
For dog smell - 2 cups of corn meal to one cup of 1 cup of borax plus whatever oil essential - wait at least an hour and pulls the bad smell right out. Baking soda wasn’t enough for my carpet.
Can you explain exactly how you do this? Do you put in ON the carpet or just near? If on, do you rub it in and vacuum it out?
What! Having corn meal on my carpet doesn't sound ideal.
I have a tip that I have used for years to clean inside trash cans.
(I hope I don't attacked because I use a certain product that everyone will say I shouldn't because of something they heard is bad 🤷♀️🤦♀️)
Anyway here it is:
I use a strong scented box of carpet sprinkles. I found the best one is the Arm and Hammer carpet sprinkles for pets scent.
(I like the scent for pet odors. It's is my favorite because it lasts longer.
I DO NOT use it on my carpet before vacuuming, though.)
I always make sure all my garbage/trash cans are clean and dry first😉.
For the bathroom:
When they are all completely dry and ready to use, on the inside bottom of the trash can, I put a layer of paper towels.
For the kitchen:
I use the above procedure plus one more step.
(Note: Again, make sure they are completely dry!)
I start out the same. Continue as above except before the last step of putting the garbage bag around the rim, I first put a larger sized garbage bag in first, pulled over the outside rim of the trash can. Secure on the outside with a bungee strap or ~
I prefer to use clear packing tape and tightly wrap around larger bag around the outside of the trash can, to hold in place for a longer time.
*IT SAVES A LOT OF TIME
and a lot of cleaning trash cans!
No need to take everything out each time you change the trash bag.
Everything should still be clean and sealed.
Just put in one kitchen trash bag as usual on top of the secured trash bag.
Don't forget to add carpet sprinkles!😉
After several uses, (4 to 6 months)
you can just take, everything out, (paper towels with sprinkles and put everything inside the trash bag you layered at the bottom).
Wipe out and repeat the process for another several months until ready to wash with bleach.
Sounds like a lot, but really it's not. It took me longer to type the directions than it takes to actually do it!!😊
I love to listen to that background music. It is jazzy and upbeat. It grabs my attention from time to time.
Aren't dryer sheets full of chemicals?

I put a bar of Irish Spring soap at the bottom of my trash can.

My favorite trick for making the house smell good is to take pure lavender oil in a spray bottle and spray a light mist over the light bulbs in the evening this works especially well if you have insomnia or children do it about 45 minutes before bedtime
Good tip!

I didn't realize how many subscribers you had till now and dang you doing real good

Some people can’t clean there garbage cans outside so they have to do this but after you disinfect your bathtub

I absolutely love Claire Burke plug-in scents. Vanilla is wonderful all year long and come Christmas time especially if you have an artificial tree there are a number of Christmas scents available. Claire Burke's products are a bit pricey but they have a wonderful fragrance that doesn't smell like cheap gas station bathroom deodorant which I find most plugin fragrances do.

I put the wet waste in the deep freezer, works well, when accumulated, I deliver it to the landfill🥳
The garbage disposal tip is funny I dont think the person doing the illustration knows what a garbage disposal is.
Right?
Besides pets that live in the house, a major source of household stink is the kitchen garbage can. People throw bottles, jars and cans in there that have residual food in them which then spoils and smells. Better to prevent odors than spend time and money trying to cover them up. People use the garbage can when they should be using the in-sink disposal. Unless you like a smelly house taking a few seconds to wash out jars and cans with a little soap, water and a brush and letting them dry before throwing in your garbage can will prevent a major source of odors as well as help control ant and roach pests. It's a no-brainer.
Basically, stop putting off CLEANING THE HOUSE!
Amen
I mean just cleaning a lot doesn’t always help. My house is cleaned everyday and sometimes a smell comes up that is soooo difficult to get rid of. Like garbage, or basement - sometimes from the cloth diapers between laundry loads. So it all cannot be avoided just by cleaning a lot. Especially if you have babies.

Umm frying bacon is THE best air freshener known to man!
As a bonus, you get to eat the bacon!
